ALL THINGS BROWNS

There are 293,000 females in Houston between the ages of 20 to 30.

Buzbee has 292,076 more to go.

Dude, I would like to laugh at that, but the insinuation that Buzbee is fabricating these lawsuits is insulting to those 293,000 women. We might not want to discuss this further for fear it could turn into another conversation like last week.

A pretty major fact here is that at no point has Watson denied contacting these women for massages. There isn't a single one that isn't a factual encounter...yet Buzbee is being accused of finding these women and fabricating incidents that occurred for the sake of the lawsuit??

Now, it is getting worse as Watson's attorney has now made a public statement that there isn't anything wrong with a sexual encounter during a message, nor is there anything wrong trying to instigate said sexual encounter... That seems to be the direction the defense is going to go in.

Let me say.. I am NOT insinuating you were accusing Buzbee in your post Lym... That was a general statement of the public and media...

Uhm well... I better not say anything.

This is what I believe is happening . . .
    1. Buzbee is clearly playing the Civil Litigation "Court of Public Opinion" card.
    2. He's keeping the civil litigation in the daily news cycle by adding additional suits, one at a time. There will be more coming.
    3. I don't believe he has any intention (or desire) to actually end up in court. By waterboarding the NFL, he's trying to bring pressure to bear on Watson (through the NFL) to simply settle out of court and minimize the suspension. He (Buzbee) still gets paid without the stress or expense of multiple civil trials.
    4. He is also making people wonder how can the NFL wrap up their investigation when new accusers show up every week?

I don't doubt that... But without the ammunition, he doesn't have that strategy. The ammunition is all I care about, not the strategy. The ammunition is what throws shade on this franchise and fanbase. I still think it is a slap in the face to all female fans of the Cleveland Browns to trade for him while in the middle of all this. Just my take and about 80% of the female browns fans... I haven't talked to one yet that understands why they traded for him or thinks it was a good move, NONE of them believe he did nothing wrong and for that are ashamed he is a Brown. Has anyone seen a take on this move by a female that didn't have anything but positive things to say about it?

    Define "loaded".

  8. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    Top 3 edge rusher
Top 3 shut down corner for starters

If you have those two things and it will make the rest of your defense better. Similar to a QB on the offensive side of the ball.

Though they have a lot more than that…

If you have to ask, it's going to be a long year for you my friend.

    When I think "loaded" I think a multiple pro-bowlers, a roster of high picks. I don't think:

    Taven Bryan
    Jordan Elliott
    John Johnson
    Grant Delpit
    Anthony Walker

And the jury is definitely still out on JOK.

Are you sure you're thinking at all? C'mon.

First of all, the Browns hit HR's with both of their first two picks last year. JOK is stud just scratching the surface of what he can do to disrupt an offense.. Don't kid yourself. Nice try with the list though beach. You forgot to mention Tommy Togiai and Tony Fields. lol!

So this is the statement that you take issue with here on the Browns boards? hehe.

Not sure if you are familiar with any of these names, but we do have Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome on the roster. That's two #1 overall's, and a #4 overall, and another 1st rounder that was the top rookie CB in the league last year. Does any team have more than 3 players taken within the top 4 overall on their defense, including two first overall picks, and all with multiple Pro Bowls? Are those not high enough draft selections? Maybe if we get #2 overall, Ndamakong Suh signed, that'll put us over the top.

JOK missed 15 tackles in 500 snaps. Had he played a full season he would have been near the top of the league. Maybe he cleans it up, maybe it's who he is. The definition of jury is still out.

I notice no one else on my list (of starters) was worth mentioning.

I'm aware of the remaining players on your defense. But you used the word loaded. I was trying to determine if you had a higher opinion of the majority of your starters than most people or if this was just more legendary TD off-season talk.

Jordan Elliott looks like a bust. I'll give you that.

John Johnson is one of the most underrated Safties in football. I think it's his common name. But he's as solid as it gets and got better as the year went on.....

Grant Delpit has been injured from the start. He's the definition of, "jury is still out". Ton's of potential with Delpit. If he can stay healthy, he's going to be a huge impact player on our defense....

Anthony Walker was solid in his first year in Cleveland and then got hurt a little..
The former 5th rounder from Northwestern has had a great career. Browns willing to give him another 1 yr $5M contract (high for a LB) for a reason. He's a really good LB.

and I'll add a couple more.

I love the tape on Martin Emerson. He covered some of the best WR's in the country at Miss. State and stood up well. Tall rangy CB that packs a punch. Perfect skillsert to fit our defense on the outside, so they can move Newsome into the slot where he'll be deadly.

Perrion Winfrey was the steal of the draft, and you can go back and look. He might be the first player I mentioned as perfent pick for Cleveland months before the draft. During practice week for the Senior Bowl as a matter of fact. A game in which he was the MVP of. How often does that happen for a DT?

It was his rookie season. JOK should have been a 1st rd pick. He's the definition of a rising star.

Admitedly the question mark is DT. I think Winfrey will make a huge impact, but if we get Suh signed (as rumored), it's going to be fun.

I forgot Taven Bryan. I don't know much about the former first rounder from Florida, other than the Browns like his potential in our scheme. I'm aware he underachieved in Jacksonville since they didn't sign his 5th yr option. Hoping he can get it turned around with a fresh start here. he's only 26 years old. At 6'5"/298 he's a big man in the middle that has managed 5.5 career sacks as a Jag. This is an intriguing signing by the Browns.

The Browns are an average defense. Great pass rusher, two good CBs, another good edge guy and then question marks. Calling a healthy Delpit a huge impact player is fan talk. Calling the 108th person drafted the steal of the draft because you liked him pre-draft is fan talk.

The Browns front 7 as a whole is simply not very good. And Suh can't fix that by himself. They are fortunate that they play opposite an offense that is Top Ten in time of possession.

  16. TopDawg Legend

This is a fan site right? lol! You asked for my takes..

FTR: I'm not the only one that called Winfrey the steal of the draft. So you'll just have wake up on that one. And the Browns absolutely do expect Delpit (another former high pick that went later than expected in the draft) to have a huge impact.

They had the 7th ranked defense last year, and they are getting better this year.

So what is your endgame here? Just trying to stomp out optimism elsewhere because everyone outside of Steeler Nation is predicting last in AFCN for Pittsburgh?

  17. beachbum M.V.P. Manager Steelers

    Endgame = Interaction

2nd round picks aren't 1st round picks that fell in the draft. They are 2nd round picks.

obviously meant first round TALENT that fell to the second because of tweeter tag.

God damn I'm tired of just trying to be a Browns fan...

Words of advice from an old dawg . . .

You don't need to try being a Browns fan. You either are one, or you're not.
