Actually 10 women did talk to police, but they all made contact between March and April of 2021 and police records show that the accusations occurred between September 2019 and December 2020.. So, it is suspect at best as to why they waited so long to file police reports, other than Buzbee obviously instructed them to do so.
There are a number of things about the Deshaun Watson massage gate issue. #1 I've not heard of him ever soliciting a "male" massage therapist #2 A fair number of the therapist, weren't liscenced therapists #3 The sheer number of therapists (maybe) is astounding #4 He admitted to having consensual sex with some (OK if true) but makes the claims of his being aggressive feel more legit (it worked once, why not again) #5 the pattern of behavior is pretty consistent: not wanting to put a towel over his johnson, moving in ways to force contact, handling his johnson during the massage, ......... At the very least it demonstrates poor judgement, to put himself in a he said/she said position over and over again and always with a female therapist (?) Most athletes find and stick with a therapist who they feel truly does the job they want and help them heal, clearly this was outside that norm. As for the NFL, I don't quite understand why they haven't decided on action. They are not the legal system, so "proof" doesn't even enter the equation. Can they not decide if what we already know doesn't impune the league's reputation? IMO it's actually serial behavior that is despicable, and if my daughter was therapist and had this happen to her (and she had the courage to say so), I'd be looking for justice in any way I could get it. So clearly I'm not a defender of Watson, and want to see him be punished for what he "alledgedly" did to these young women. Once he's paid his debt for his actions, I'll try to rethink my feelings about him as our QB, but for now, it leaves me feeling dirty as a fan of the team. I don't know if that will ever go away, and I resent the team doing that to me. I don't know how I'd feel about a Super Bowl Victory behind Watson. I really don't.
lol! We've heard the song; "San Di - eg - go! Super Chargers" It should be a better show in week 5 than the last time the Chargers came to town. I was at that game a few years ago. One of the worst football games I've ever gone to in my life. San Diego didn't even need a QB that day. They just ran all over the Browns. It was a beautiful fall day ruined by really bad football.
The Browns made the decision to go all-in on Deshaun Watson, the former Houston Texans signal-caller who missed the entire 2021 season and could be suspended for part of this season as the league looks into allegations from 22 women accusing Watson of sexual assault or misconduct. Cleveland traded a trio of first-rounders to land the three-time Pro Bowler. The move instantly elevated Cleveland to a realistic Super Bowl contender. The club saw its Super Bowl odds at DraftKings Sportsbook move from 35-1 to 15-1 as soon as the trade was announced, a testament to Watson's talent. In his most recent season in 2020, the 26-year-old led the league with 4,823 passing yards, throwing for 33 touchdowns against just seven interceptions. Considering he's the first true franchise QB the Browns have had since they rejoined the league in 1999—and set to be the 32nd starter at the position for the club in that span—there is plenty of reason to be excited about Cleveland's playoff prospects.
This has been arguably the busiest off-season I can ever remember. Obviously we've never done a trade the magnitude of the Watson deal, but even with that aside the Browns have really done a nice job IMO of reseting the roster. I know it doesn't mean squat, but it looks outstanding on paper. Hopefully the rumors are true and we wind up signing Ndamakong Suh to go along with everything else. I'll be ready to put a bow on this thing. lol! If Brissett can just manage football games and not give it away during the expected suspension of DW, this team is going to be a serious contender. Even if it's 8 game suspension for Watson, the way the schedule sets up, I wouldn't count Cleveland out. Jacoby Brissett is plenty good enough to go 5-3 or 6-2 with this talent around him. With the aligations against Watson, many in the national media are trying to paint it negative for the Browns, but I'm feelin a really good vibe with this team right now. NFL.com did an article on the NFL's most complete teams and the Browns were 5th, iirc. Teams like the Bucc's, Rams, Packers were at the top of the list with Cleveleand right up there, FWIW. So, others are viewing the Browns, especially with Watson, as a truely well built, competitive football team. The suspense on the Watson cases is killing me... I cant imagine what the Browns fans must be going through. Wish it was said and done.
No doubt. It's definitely getting old, and should have been handled by now IMO. It's not the NFL's job to determine innocence or guilt. There's no doubt Watson is getting suspended, as the NFL has already shown, regardless of what the law says, if you tarnish the "shield" they are coming heavy handed. Hopefully they come with something reasonable very soon, so we can at least take that next step in knowing what we have to deal with.
I hope not, but it sure does feel like the Browns are getting the red headed step child treatment from the league. Other than Biscotti though, who coincidently is trying to figure out a contract extension for Lamar Jackson, I haven't heard other owners go public with their disdain of the Watson signing. Minus of course the teams that lost in the battle to sign him. What makes this so unique is that Watson is just 26 years old. How often does a 3 time Pro-Bowl QB at that age become available? It just never happens. The last time Watson played, he led the league in passing yards, and threw 33 TD's to just 7 Ints, all while being supported by the leagues worst running game and a highly suspect offensive line. There's a reason why, in spite of tremendous baggage, teams were lining up trying to acquire him. I agree. That's why I think this should have been handled by now, as far as the league determining Watson's punishment. The longer they take, the more it looks like they are trying to determine inocence or guilt, which is the job of the judicial system, not the NFL. At this point, we have people with their britches in a bunch over the Cleveland Browns, who have never watched a game or cared about football in their lives. It's a lot of "he said, she said" in this. No new facts, but we still get to hear it play out in inane media speculation every single day, and obviously none of it reflects well on the Browns.
If needed, Brissett needs to be at least as good as 2021 Mayfield This was an "under the radar" signing by the Browns. I have complete confidence that Brissett can play better than injured (2021) Baker Mayfield... Why Jacoby Brissett matters for the Browns -- and why he’ll be ready if needed
