Entered the 9th inning trailing 8-2. Naylor hits a grand slam to tie it up 8 - 8. Then a game saving stretch at first base in the bottom of the ninth to keep em alive. Then a three run jack to win it in the 11th... Finished the game with 2 HR's, a double, and 8 RBI's. All of his RBI's coming after the 8th inning, and all with 2 outs. MLB records. (I thought he was going to hurt somebody in the dugout after that second HR.,,lol!)
I cant believe the Tigers are even in this MLB Playoff thing. 10 years on the outside looking in... crazy good series too. Good luck. (sorta )
It's fun, but I can see the difference in the fans from each of the games. It's almost sad, but the Cleveland fans are becoming complacent. We have become accustomed to them making the playoffs, 7 out of the last 10 years. I remember when... It seemed impossible that they would ever get to the post season in my lifetime. In 1997 when they made the World Series, we were like the Tigers fans I watched the last couple of nights in Detroit. They are going crazy like it is the 7th game of the WS every night. I love that fire, it's fun to watch, even though they are the opposing fans. Great series regardless of what happens tomorrow.
I love the fact that this Thread is the Cleveland Indians.........there are days when I hate Political Correctness. Detroit Tigers are good team and so are the Cleveland Indians........and the winner moves on tomorrow in the AL. Huge up set tonight.......the Padres beat the Dodgers and move on in the NL I want to see the NY Mets vs the NY Yankees in the World Series.......they will call it the Subway Series.
Been there done that, it wasn't a great series back then and I wouldn't expect it to be this time around either, but you never know. I can't stand either one of them, so I wouldn't watch.... That holds true for all teams but Cleveland and Cincinnati though, lol.
Cleveland vs Detroit moved up to a 1:08 first pitch due to weather moving in. It was slated to go at night, 8:08... but its going to rain. Incidentally, it wont be on at the same time as the #2 Buckeyes vs #3 Ducks game at 730... that's the real reason, i bet. Skubal vs Boyd, instant classic already. Amazing fact I heard and hadn't realized, the Tigers and Cleveland playoffs is the first time ever these 2 storied franchises have ever played each other in the Playoffs.
