I'm not arguing they could still get impact players at 32 and 34, or trade back up to snag someone these last few picks if need be.

But if it were me, I would've preferred 12 and 46. I could be wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I think Minnesota clearly lost that one. Just trying to mentally figure out what the motivation was. Now if they'd given back a 4th instead of 66, would look a lot better. Detroit's GM did a better job, plain and simple.

I agree. I'll most likely not like it.

    Jags traded up!

Oh, I'm with you. You're trying to rationalize it, and I think it's probably the correct guess. It just puzzles me. 32 to 12 is a big jump.

I'm wondering if the nature of this particular draft class was the reason for that move. Not so much "elite" this year, strong middle, and then drops to nothing near the end of Day 3. If that's how they feel, 3 picks in the top 70 instead of 2 might have been their goal.

Devin Lloyd to the Jags. My Jags fan buddy here called it. Well he said LB or CB.

Someone elsewhere just inspired me. What if this is Minny's "Sneak" move to get Cousins' successor? Get that 5th year option. Give Willis/Ridder/Corral time to develop...which they all should get.

Also add that third pick inside the top 70 you mentioned. Because that is the sweet spot in this draft, as a guy who has done a few mocks.

That's not to say I like the move. I'm with @dlinebass5 all the way on that one. But they did it for a reason, so I'm trying to figure out the motive.

Last five picks of the round... will anyone trade up to get a QB?

NE next... could EASILY trade down again...

I hate seeing any UGA defensive players being drafted by division rivals. Green Bay drafted two. F***.

Headed to bed. I appreciate you all - have a great night!

    Wild night man.

Well, anyone remember my conversation where I said 3 or less QB's go round 1? I wouldn't normally say I told you so (I like to fool myself into thinking I'm classy), but I've been drinking. LoL.

Honestly curious what Minny does here.

My other biggest surprise of the night?

Quay Walker in round 1. Not for me...

But honestly I watched him pretty early in my process, and I didn't get a lot of great tape on him. Wouldn't call his scouting my most thorough. But looked more like a 3rd round athlete to me than 1st round LB. Time will tell. I'm not overly sure. Thought I liked Tindall better honestly.

I'm happy to see it. The #4 and #5 QBs aren't worth it. I get Irish's point about the value of the 5th year option, but these guys plain and simple aren't worth it.

Well, well... #65 was a huge riser...

Yeah I know. It's possible Irish and I were mixing up a couple separate conversations but mashing them into one. I think there probably is a GM or two who would see serious value in that 5th year option..

I was just saying this class sucks at QB, and I don't see 4+ different coaches/GM's tripping over each other to trade up for QB prospects who are more likely to get them fired than make them heroes. The league agreed. I think teams have been more disciplined the last few years. I also think the reality is not all GM's handle different situations or decisions the same. Or the draft in general.

Vikings got Cine. Hmmm. I would have liked booth or Hill in front of them to really start liking the trade down but we'll see the rest.
