I must be watching a delayed version on NFL Network. I'm gonna bail here. I would rather not know who the pick is before its made.
Okay, I played the scenario right and went OT for Carolina in the mock rather than QB. Didn't get the right one of the three top guys, but that's fine - I'm thrilled that I role played it correctly.
Yeah I genuinely believed the Panthers would chase QB. They'll have to move for Jimmy G or Baker now.
I'm not convinced that they are forced into either move if the GM has been given guarantees that he will get to choose a passer next offseason. Also, the possibility exists that they will simply take a passer (whatever remains) in the 4th to justify passing on one with this pick. Either way, I think they made the right choice (going OL), even if I believe they should have shook up the entire foundation prior to this draft.
Picking up his 5th year option AND hiring McAdoo says they really might stick with Darnold for this year.
Scary to think they haven't had a consistent LT since Jordan Gross retired to settle down on the farm. That was 2014.
But "When" you have to choose 5th year option is so early that it really doesn't even mean anything today, does it? Didn't they have to make that decision last offseason?
It's fully guaranteed though, right? So they're committing big cap to him on top of the 2nd and 4th round picks. Drafting QB at #6 would mean they basically have no draft firepower left - and still no one to protect the blind side. The over/under on firing Rhule would be Halloween.
Alright boys I am ready for the Schoen era. I am out, I am drinking and this is basically my ideal scenario for the Giants!
