    Hilarious.

Dude, you are part of the most clueless slobbering fanbase on this site. Basically every fan of another team on here can speak with more authority about your own team than you can. The LAST person who should be throwing out oh so scary receipts threats is you. Particularly about Baker HAAAAAAAAA!!!

Can we assume from this over-reaction that RTTRUTH struck a nerve? lol

Dan Campbell: Lions want an immediate starter with No. 2 pick

The Lions hold the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft and have plenty of players to consider.

But no matter who they pick, the Lions expect the selection to come in and make an immediate impact.

Head coach Dan Campbell made that clear in remarks to reporters on Thursday.

“You want a guy who can come in and he’s a Day One starter,” Campbell said, via Tim Twentyman of the team’s website. “That’s really what you’re trying to acquire. You’d like to think by the time you hit your first game this player is staring for you and he’s going to be able to produce.”

The Lions have a pair of first-round picks — No. 2 and No. 32 — from last year’s trade with the Rams that sent quarterback Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles. They then hold the No. 34 pick in the second round at the top of Day Two.

In 2021, Detroit chose offensive tackle Penei Sewell at No. 7 overall and he started 16 games for the team as a rookie.

As Detroit builds with Campbell and General Manager Brad Holmes, Campbell said the team will continue focusing on stacking its core through the draft.

“That’s where our pool of guys are coming from,” Campbell said. “You want to build your core that way and you want to develop those players, and then you want to sign those players back, and then you want [to] draft some more.”

Detroit was 3-13-1 in Campbell’s first season as head coach last year.

Oh come on now, surely even you can find the irony in your post just a little funny. That having been proven wrong about Baker in so many ways to now throw out receipts comments at other people re him.

Would you say self awareness was a personal strength or development opportunity for you?

Of all the years that I've done first round predictions (About 40 years), I think this one is going to be the toughest. Usually we all have an idea at least of how the top 5 picks will play out, or top 3. This year we don't know shit. They are still throwing four or five names around, just in regards to #1 overall. It's going to be a complete crapshoot, especially with so many teams having multiple first round picks, and all the QB movement we've seen leading up. I'm expecting a ton of trade activity. Should be a lot of fun, even in spite of the fact the Browns don't have a pick.

Report: Vikings, Commanders meeting with Travon Walker

Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker won’t have to wait long to hear his name called April 28. He could go No. 1 overall.

But will it be the Jaguars taking Walker? Or someone else?

Teams with the top six selections — the Jaguars, Lions, Texans, Jets, Giants and Panthers — had Walker among their top-30 visitors. The Vikings, who select 12th, also had Walker visit, Ben Standig of TheAthletic.com reports.

The Vikings likely would have to trade (way) up to get Walker.

The Commanders, who draft 11th, also are showing interest in Walker. They tried to set up a visit with Walker at their team facility but couldn’t get it scheduled before Wednesday’s top-30 visit deadline. So Washington is sending coach Ron Rivera, front office executives and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio to meet with Walker on the Georgia campus this week, per Standig.

All four starters on the Commanders’ defensive line were selected in the first round, including Jonathan Allen and Chase Young. So the team’s interest in Walker is curious.

Walker totaled 33 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, six sacks and a fumble recovery to help Georgia win a national title last season.

He joins Aidan Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux as front seven defenders who are expected to be early picks. A defensive lineman has not gone No. 1 overall since Myles Garrett in 2017, but this draft is absent a can’t-miss quarterback, so a player at some other position likely hears his name first.

Jaguars considering four players with No. 1 overall choice

Nearly every mock draft has the Jaguars taking either Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson or Georgia defensive end Travon Walker first overall. Jaguars General Manager Trent Baalke allowed Friday that the team is considering four players for the choice.

Baalke wouldn’t name names, obviously, but offensive tackles Evan Neal and Ikem Ekwonu could be the other two names on the team’s list of top prospects.

“It’s a work in progress,” Baalke said, via John Reid of the Florida Times-Union.

The Jaguars used the No. 1 overall choice on Trevor Lawrence in 2021, and then used a second first-rounder on running back Travis Etienne.

They used the franchise tag on left tackle Cam Robinson, which is why most mock drafts rule out one of the offensive tackles. Many are betting on Hutchinson being the choice.

Myles Garrett was the last defensive lineman to go No. 1 overall.

”Aidan is a good football player,” Baalke said. “There are other good football players in this draft. Who’s going to be the best player when it’s all said and done? Heck, if we knew, that we’d go to Vegas and make money now. I’ve looked at this that you do the work, watch the film and study the character of the guy.”

With quarterbacks rated lower than usual, it could prove to be an unusual draft.

Chiefs not optimistic they’ll have a first-round grade on any players available at 29 and 30

The Chiefs own the 29th and 30th picks in Thursday night’s draft, but they’re not optimistic that a player with a first-round grade will still be available.

Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach said the team has about 16 to 18 players with first-round grades, and it’s likely they’ll all be off the board when the Chiefs are on the clock.

“The odds of maybe one of those guys falling isn’t great,” Veach said, via the Kansas City Star.

The Chiefs also have the 50th and 62nd picks, and Veach said there’s a lot of talent in that range.

“When you look at value in this draft, 30-60 is really good,” Veach said. “We were able to get Nick Bolton and Creed Humphrey last year. I think there will be value similar to that. There were will be really good players in that second and third round.”

The Chiefs may decide to trade down from the first round if they can acquire additional picks in the process. The value in this draft is in its depth.

I wouldnt say they'd trade down... maybe they should trade up if they are worried they cant get anyone on their list. Might find a partner who needs depth and could use a couple late 1st rounders.

My personal opinion, fwiw, is this class has some good talent even late in round 1 possibilities, just might not be exactly what/whom you had in mind.

Travon Walker becomes the betting favorite to go No. 1

It happened over the weekend. And it has shaken up the very top of the draft.

Via PointsBet, Georgia defensive end Travon Walker is now the favorite to become the first overall pick. His odds currently are -155.

Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has fallen to +150, followed by N.C. State tackle Ikem Ekwonu at +600 and Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, at +1800. Alabama tackle Evan Neal continues to provide great value at +1800.

Walker is also the new favorite at DraftKings and FanDuel. Hutchinson, at +110, is now the PointsBet favorite to go to Detroit with the No. 2 overall pick.

The Jaguars have said they’ve narrowed their list to four players. On Thursday night, we’ll find out which one they take.

Would Steelers draft Malik Willis or Kenny Pickett?

The Steelers had their pre-draft press conferences on Monday. As expected, they didn’t tip their hand regarding the quarterback they’d draft at No. 20 — if any.

Different opinions have been making the rounds regarding whether the Steelers would take Malik Willis of Liberty or Pitt’s Kenny Pickett, if both are available. Peter King’s mock draft has the Steelers taking Pickett — and Willis plunging out of round one. Simms has Pittsburgh taking Willis. The PointsBet draft odds continue to have Willis as the favorite to be the first quarterback taken in the draft.

So who would it be, if both are there at No. 20? Coach Mike Tomlin wants an “ultimate competitor.” In the ultimate offseason NFL competition, it won’t be a surprise if someone tries to cut the line before the Steelers can get either guy. Or maybe one or both will be taken by one of the teams already selecting ahead of the Steelers.

The Steelers are surely aware of the stakes. They went 20 years between franchise quarterbacks after Terry Bradshaw retired. Now, maybe they’ll jump on another potential franchise quarterback in the first draft after Ben Roethlisberger called it a career.

Here’s one thing to not rule out — the Steelers literally jumping the line. They did it in 2003 for safety Troy Polamalu, in 2006 for receiver Santonio Holmes, and in 2019 for linebacker Devin Bush. If there’s a player they really like and if they think he won’t be there, they’ll go get him.

With plenty of teams looking to trade down, and if the Steelers truly believe in Pickett or Willis, why wait to see if he’ll fall to No. 20? If whoever they want works out, no one will remember whatever they gave up to go get him. If there’s any doubt that they’ll be leapfrogged, they should just go get him.

Scott Fitterer would “feel comfortable” with a couple of QBs at No. 6

It’s no secret that the Panthers are in the market for a quarterback and General Manager Scott Fitterer didn’t attempt to say otherwise at a pre-draft press conference on Tuesday.

Fitterer told reporters that he informed Sam Darnold that the team plans to add a quarterback this week because they “want to stabilize” the position. That stabilization could come in the draft or in a trade for a veteran like Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo.

With two days to go before the first round gets underway, Fitterer wasn’t showing his cards when it came to that path. Any move for a veteran is unlikely to happen before the first round and Fitterer did his best to keep people thinking about the Panthers taking a quarterback at No. 6.

“I would feel comfortable with one of them, or actually a couple of them, at six,” Fitterer said, via Steve Reed of the Associated Press.

Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis have been seen as the likeliest quarterbacks to come off the board first, but the Panthers also spent time with Matt Corral, Sam Howell, Desmond Ridder, and Bailey Zappe during the pre-draft process.

Over the weekend, Georgia defensive end Travon Walker leapfrogged Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson in the odds to be the first overall pick in the draft. On Wednesday, another prospect caught Hutchinson.

Via PointsBet, N.C. State offensive lineman Ikem Ekwonu now has the same odds as Hutchinson to be the first pick in the draft.

Currently, Walker stands at -300. Ekwonu and Hutchinson each have odds of +350.

Alabama tackle Evan Neal has moved to +1400, with Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux the next on the list, at +4000.

Jaguars would like to trade down a few spots, but can’t find any takers

The Jaguars declared last week that they’ve narrowed their field of potential No. 1 overall picks to four. As a practical matter, this means that they can move down to No. 4 and still get one of the guys on their list.

Per a league source, the Jaguars are still hoping that they can find a path out of the top pick. However, they continue to find no takers.

At last week’s pre-draft press conference, G.M. Trent Baalke said no one has called about trading up. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Teams could be waiting until the right moment to make a move.

It hinges on whether a team sufficiently loves one of the top players to justify moving up. There continues to be no indication that the Lions at No. 2, the Texans at No. 3, the Jets at No. 4, or anyone else has become sufficiently smitten with any one player to make the move.

Our guess is that it won’t happen. Whether it does or doesn’t is one of the things that will or won’t play out before Jacksonville’s 10-minute window expires later tonight.
