They didn't win 8 games by accident. Roster needs a lot of work. Fortunately, a guy like Watson can hide a lot of warts.
We were 8-9 with a broken QB, FWIW.....I'm okay if you don't agree. The LV oddsmakers do, and that's good enough for me. Stop trying stir shit. You are on the Browns boards with emotions obviously running high and you just trying your hardest to spin it all negative for Cleveland. Don't you have a team? Worry about your own roster....
EVERYONE'S 2022 schedule in the AFC North is brutal. 14 out 17 opponents on the schedule are the same for all four teams.
Dude you are so soft. I've criticized Ben Roethlisberger far more than I've criticized Baker Mayfield.
I will be fucking ecstatic if the Harvard Browns bid against themselves and over pay Clowney (again).
Like all of us, I was shocked by the Watson move. Like some I am ashamed of my team for doing it, barring some weird twist where it is uncovered that the allegations / charges were orchestrated. But 22? I have been trying to come to grips with "my team" doing something so taudry. The moral questions aside, it just doesn't feel like something to celebrate, and should we go on to win a Super Bowl with Watson, it's just not going to feel super to me. Dropping our drawers and taking it up the butt in "guaranteed money", even structuring the deal to "forgive" him any financial damage, surrendering 3 years of round 1 picks, just strikes me as weak and dumb at the same time. I guess from a football perspective you can hope to recoup some draft capital when you move Baker, and maybe they are thinking Ward is a luxury who's value in picks is more than his play. At some point does Myles become trade bait? Maybe a year or two down the road, but if that road doesn't include a Super Bowl stop, what have we done? I am so dissapointed. At the same time I also think that Baker and Stephanski were far apart and that the Odel thing fractured the lockeroom, and given the lack of true support from the Head Coach, left Baker isolated. Having allowed Baker to continue playing feels like gross negligence, and undermined his position, making him a lame duck and helped to sway the fan base away from Baker. Not that Baker did himself any favors, but had he stopped playing after AZ, I have to wonder how this off season would have gone. I can accept that Baker wasn't the QB Stephanski wanted and a move in another direction, but to hitch my team to Watson, at this juncture........ I just think it all smells bad
All that said, I don't know how my Browns fandom will unfold. There is certainly a part of me that will feel good about winning, but I can never share my enthusiasm with my daughter ever again, until Watson is no longer with the team. She wrote off Big Ben after his sexual peccidillos, and that wasn't predetory or persistent. That's why it will certainly take some of the joy out of being a Browns fan. I will never be able to share the joy with my 4 sisters, or my daughter. That hurts my fandom, and my heart.
I can't let this go. I can at least recognize that my Baker fandom plays into the mix. I hate that our first playoff QB who got us there over 3 tumultuous seasons, was allowed to tarnish his career in an effort to take them there again, when he clearly should have gotten surgery to ensure his full health for 2022. They claim the want "an adult" at the position. Well which of you "adults" found it so daunting that you couldn't man up and call Baker to tell him you were making a play for Watson? Sure he'd be pissed, but we're "all adults" here, right? The guy played you into and won a playoff game only 13 months ago, and you let him cripple himself for you. Wouldn't a healthy Baker coming off a playoff win and 6 solid games in 2021 have given you greater trade leverage? What do you expect to get for him now? A bag of used footballs? Having given away your/our future, it would have been nice to be holding the card of a high quality starting QB as trade bait, as opposed to one you have kicked to the curb. Nice work fellas. The clock is ticking on your careers now, cause if this doesn't work out Haslam is going to do the same to all of you.
I don't care about your criticisms of Baker or Ben. That has nothing to do with anything. They've both proven worthy of that at times. This was just an unbelievably shocking day for Cleveland fans. We weren't expecting to be involved in one of the biggest trades in NFL history, a day after we were told that we were out of the hunt. Chiming in about how we overpay for everybody, and all the holes on our roster and how much better the Bengals are, and how dumb our front office is, please. You aren't doing anything right now other than trying to fan the flames on the already emotional and stunned fan base. Just a reminder that not all of us are trashing our fan cards. This whole thing is going take some time for Browns fans to digest.
Another strange twist about the Watson deal. All the teams involved in this drama are on the schedule. We play Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans and Carolina this season.
C'mon TD. It's a game. It's not life. No one died. Your team traded for one of the best QBs in the NFL. But I'm not trying to hurt anyone in here so I'll back off. Please let me know when it's okay to talk shit about the Browns again.
lol! Dramatic...by all means feel free. Don't let me stop ya. Lord knows there will never be enough shit talking the Browns. But you know what I'm talking about. We've got guys ready to jump ship over here in the middle of this unprecedented situation, and you just piling on like a bum...A beachbum.
Probably depends on where the suspension ends up. I'm sincerely hoping for a full season. Case Keenum with this roster has the Browns at 5-6 wins in total. It's literally no less than they would deserve for this whole shit-show.
When you say "the rest of the AFC North" should I read that to mean the Bengals (your current #1), Steelers and Ravens only?
I think safe assumption Lym. He was on a roll. For sure looking for a response... lol! Subtle, but I read that as an admission that he was tryin to ruffle feathers.
