I wanted Trubisky a year ago when he was available. Pretty certain I could find a "Sign Mitch, Dump Ben" comment from last year if I looked for it.

I like his mobility. Has enough arm talent. Should have never seen the field as a rookie and had crap for coaching. He'll bring a lot to the Steelers running game because teams will have to fear the edge.

Not really in to the back and forth with you guys. Have nothing against the Bears but they've been really bad for a really long time and still Trubisky won more games than he lost for four straight years.

    Only time will tell.

  2. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

Well pretty much every Bears fan on here inc me would be happy to see him do well. I do think you'll find the mental aspect of his game disappointing tho.

Ben was awful the last two years. Offense was stuck in 1st gear because he couldn't move - which was pretty much what made his career. His ability to extend plays.

Hard to really take anything you guys say seriously when it comes to QBs. No team has needed a QB more in the last ten years and the L4SN Browns fans sold their souls for Manziel and Mayfield. With some really good options available. How about a little humility?

Well we'll see. Coaching plays a big part in that. Bad schemes are bad schemes. Thank God Fields only had to spend one year with that staff.

Then maybe don't wag your dick on an internet message board? You talk a big game about coming back to these posts a year or two from now, but don't actually want to talk about it. You okay, bud?

No one is arguing that Nagy was a complete piece of garbage, but did you happen to watch the video I posted? It's ten minutes. I promise, more valuable than the time you've spent writing here, so far. It's actually insightful, rather than the back and forth you're so tired of, here.

  7. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I'm sure I wrote it somewhere on this site - when he was drafted, I heard him speaking to Bears reporters about how excited he was, etc. All I could think was, "He speaks exactly like a guy I know - same cadence, vocabulary, everything. And that guy is a complete moron". Turns out...

But hey, he's athletic and works hard. Maybe that's all the Steelers need. We'll see.

Jags are making a guy that's like the 75th best receiver in football the 3rd highest paid one.

    They are gonna regret that.

  9. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

They need talent have money to spend and are not a FA destination. They have to overpay. At least they’re trying to put some capable people around Lawrence.

but yeah 21m per for Kirk is nanners

It's crazy money season. I guess the rationale is that, as long as he helps Lawrence NOW, it's worth regretting his contract later. That's all I can think of. Because they definitely need help, desperately, now. But I have a hard time seeing him justify that contract at any point.

I get it and he’s a young guy that certainly has talent. But that’s a ton of dough.

J.C. Jackson to sign with Chargers

The Chargers have made another big move to improve their defense.

According to multiple reports, cornerback J.C. Jackson has agreed to join Los Angeles on a five-year, $82.5 million deal with $40 million guaranteed.

Jackson was No. 2 on PFT’s list of top free agents in 2022.

Jackson had spent his entire career with the Patriots, having joined the club as an undrafted free agent back in 2018, emerging as one of the game’s better corners over the last two seasons.

    Dammmmmmmmm, Jaguars still at it...

    Per; PFT

Jacksonville continues to try to buy its way out of dysfunction.

A day of aggressive signings has continued, with the acquisition of former Raiders receiver Zay Jones. Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Jones has agreed to terms on a three-year, $24 million contract with Jacksonville. The deal has a maximum value of $30 million.

Jones had 47 catches for 546 yards and one touchdown in 2021. The 26-year-old was a 2017 second-round pick of the Bills. In October 2019, he was traded to the Raiders.

He appeared in all 17 games last season starting nine. He joins receiver Christian Kirk and tight end Evan Engram as new weapons for Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence, under coach Doug Pederson.

Veteran safety Xavier Woods is heading to Carolina.

Woods is signing a three-year, $15.75 million contract with the Panthers, according to multiple reports.

The 26-year-old Woods started all 17 games for the Vikings last season. Prior to that he spent four years in Dallas.

Last year Woods had three interceptions, two forced fumbles, one sack and played every single defensive snap for the Vikings. He also played 24 percent of special teams snaps.

In Carolina Woods should be a starter alongside Jeremy Chinn, giving the Panthers a good pair of safeties.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence agrees to new three-year, $40M deal

Demarcus Lawrence is staying in Dallas and making a little history along the way.

The defensive end has agreed to a new three-year, $40 million contract with the Cowboys, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported. Of the $40 million, $30 million is guaranteed, making Lawrence the first defensive end in NFL history to have his contract guaranteed for seven straight seasons, per Pelissero.

When healthy, Lawrence has been a game-wrecking defensive end who the Cowboys have not been afraid to shower with cash in the past. Lawrence has tallied 48.5 sacks in his eight NFL seasons, including 25 sacks between 2017 and 2018. After the 2018 season, Dallas rewarded Lawrence with a five-year deal worth $105 million, but injuries kept Lawrence out of action for the majority of 2021, limiting him to just seven games.

With the Cowboys in a difficult cap situation and plenty of potential candidates for trade or release, Dallas struck a new deal for Lawrence that will guarantee him 75 percent of the total value and likely bring some cap relief to Dallas. Prior to the new deal, Lawrence was scheduled to account for $27 million in cap space, per Over The Cap.

Dallas already cleared significant space by agreeing to trade Amari Cooper to Cleveland, a deal that will become official with the start of the new league year. The Cowboys will avoid losing an important piece in their defense by striking a new deal with Lawrence, who will hope to return to form with a fully healthy season in 2022.

Justin Reid will sign a three-year, $31.5 million deal with Chiefs

Safety Justin Reid played alongside Tyrann Mathieu while he was a rookie with the Texans. Mathieu left for the Chiefs in 2019, signing with the Chiefs.

Reid, a free agent, now is replacing Mathieu in Kansas City.

The Chiefs are not expected to re-sign Mathieu, who also is a free agent, after agreeing to terms with Reid. Reid will get a three-year, $31.5 million deal that includes $20 million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Reid is 86th on PFT’s top-100 free agents list, with Mathieu ranked 20th.

Reid, 25, has plenty of upside after 57 games in Houston. He made 315 tackles, seven interceptions, two forced fumbles, two sacks and 23 pass breakups in four seasons after the Texans made him a third-round choice.
