The first time he went to the playoffs it was because of a defense that was tops in the league and scored touchdowns for the offense at times. The second time was because the rules changed and allowed an extra team in. They promptly got bounced. Celebrate all you want. He’s gonna frustrate you a ton when he overthrows or underthrows his receivers consistently. QB is about a lot more than wins and losses.
These conversations always go the same way. And when I roll back to them a year or two later I'm a jerk for post mining. Best of luck to all.
Trubisky isn't the guy I hoped for but I'll reserve judgement. The Steelers actually made the playoffs the last two years with a noodle armed QB who's best days were behind him. Maybe this is a short term upgrade.
Feel free to roll back to these in a year or two, bud. We would love to see Trubisky succeed - he's a good guy, unlike the last QB you rooted for. But he's just not very good. And I have a feeling that we've watched more of him than you have, over the years. Take your sarcastic "best of luck" somewhere else.
This is the right perspective. With a smart OC and lots of defensive support, he will be a suitable replacement QB while the Steelers look for the real thing. But he's not actually good.
https://www. youtube.com/watch?v=5WKxOCIzUXY (just take the space out of the copy and paste, after the www.) This is a pretty good snapshot of Trubisky and Nagy. Did Nagy make things harder on Trubisky? Absolutely. Was Trubisky actually a good quarterback? No. Best of luck, Steelers fans (and that was genuine to everyone except that one guy).
Ben's final two years were better than Trubisky's best year as a pro... Either the Steelers roster is too good to allow a really bad QB to keep them from the playoffs, or Ben was still better with his noodle arm than half the starters in the NFL. It might very well be the former and they will still make it despite Trubisky.
Brandon Scherff intends to sign with the Jaguars The Jaguars held onto left tackle Cam Robinson with a franchise tag and they’re set to add a new starter to their offensive line in free agency. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Brandon Scherff intends to sign with the Jaguars once the new league year opens on Wednesday. Scherff was No. 13 on PFT’s list of the top free agents in the league. The move boosts the offensive line in front of quarterback Trevor Lawrence and may be further sign that the Jaguars will be looking to bolster their defense with the first overall pick in the draft. Scherff received the franchise tag from Washington in each of the last two seasons, but that was cost-prohibitive this offseason and the Commanders will now have to look for a new right guard. The Jaguars have both of their starting guards from last season — Andrew Norwell and A.J. Cann — set for free agency, so they’ll also likely be looking for more help up front in Doug Pederson‘s first year as their head coach. PFT _________ __________________ Lawrence must be estatic.
Report: Davante Adams Tells Packers He Won’t Play Under Franchise Tag in 2022 Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has informed the team that he will not play under the franchise tag in 2022, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Green Bay placed the franchise tag on Adams last week following the contract extension given to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which made him the highest-paid player in NFL history. Adams, who is Rodgers’s top receiving target, is seeking a long-term extension of his own. With free agency opening later this week, and the legal tampering period opening Monday afternoon, a resolution to the Adams situation is likely coming soon. Rapoport noted Monday the sides remain far apart on a long-term deal, and that the relationship between the two sides is “not in a great place.” Given Green Bay’s allegiance to Rodgers, the expected outcome was Adams would return to the team in 2022, as he is one of the top receivers in football and Rodgers’s top weapon. However, if the two sides cannot come to an agreement on a long-term deal, the jury is out on where Adams will play next year. Adams started 16 of the 17 games for Green Bay last season, hauling in 123 receptions for a career-high 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns. He will turn 30 in December. SI
Haason Reddick agrees to three-year deal with Eagles Haason Reddick grew up near Philadelphia before attending Temple University and he’ll be heading back to his old stomping grounds to continue his NFL career. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Reddick has agreed to a three-year deal with the Eagles on Monday. The deal is worth $45 million with $30 million guaranteed at signing. Reddick broke out as a pass rusher with 12.5 sacks for the Cardinals in 2020 and landed a one-year deal with the Panthers last offseason. He produced 11 more sacks to show that he wasn’t a one-hit wonder and will now try to keep generating the same kind of heat as a pass rusher for the Eagles. Derek Barnett and Ryan Kerrigan were in the pass rushing mix for Philly in 2021, but both are set for free agency at the moment. Reddick’s arrival likely lessens the chances that the players remain on the roster this time around. PFT
Ok i guess maybe you were being serious. I never knew you were such a Trubisky fan. I must've missed all the times you stopped by the Bears board to tell us how great he was and we should just stick with him cos it'll all work out in the end. Must've blanked all those posts on the main board/MMQ thread breaking down why Mitch was amazing just no one else could see it. Will these be appearing in your mining operation? Wait i get it, it was that year he spent sat on his ass in Buffalo, THAT'LL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
Ted Karras agrees to three-year deal with Bengals The Bengals have doubled down on additions to the interior of their offensive line in the early hours of the free agency negotiating window. According to multiple reports, the team has agreed to a three-year deal with Ted Karras. Karras, who has experience at guard and center, will be set to make $18 million under the terms of the deal. The Karras news comes shortly after word that the Bengals intend to sign former Buccaneers guard Alex Cappa to a four-year contract. Both moves are part of the team’s effort to better protect Joe Burrow from the battering he took in the regular season and playoffs. Karras has started 44 games for the Patriots and Dolphins over the last three seasons. He should have a good shot at adding to that total once the Bengals sort out the makeup of their 2022 offensive line. PFT
Well said x 2 dline. Not actually good, but on a team like the Steelers shouldn't look too bad either. Also, top guy, top team mate and undeniable hard worker who's easy to root for. Pretty much the opposite of the POS Steelers fans spent nearly two decades making excuses for. For the fanbase an adjustment period will be in order.
Christian Kirk plans to sign with Jaguars The Jaguars continue to be busy in the opening hours of the free agency negotiating window. NFL Media reports that the team intends to sign wide receiver Christian Kirk when the new league year opens on Wednesday. The terms of the deal are not known at this time. Kirk would be a big addition to the receiving corps as the Jaguars try to build a better offense around quarterback Trevor Lawrence in head coach Doug Pederson‘s first season with the team. Kirk caught 77 passes for 982 yards and five touchdowns with the Cardinals during the 2021 season. The Jaguars have also reached agreements with guard Brandon Scherff, defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi, and linebacker Foye Oluokun since the negotiating window opened at noon on Monday. PFT
