Buccaneers re-signing center Ryan Jensen to 3-year, $39M deal

The Tom Brady effect is already in full effect, it would seem.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing center Ryan Jensen to a three-year, $39 million deal, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported late Sunday night per Jensen's agent. Jensen will earn $23 million guaranteed upon signing, Rapoport added.

Going forward into free agency, it will be interesting to see if the Brady effect persuades more Bucs -- such as Rob Gronkowski and Leonard Fournette -- to rejoin the squad.

Jensen is coming off his first Pro Bowl season and has never missed a start in four seasons with the Buccaneers.

The 30-year-old began his career with four seasons in Baltimore, but has emerged as one of the top centers in the game during his stay in Tampa Bay.

Legal tampering is open for business. We should hear of our first negotiated deal in about 30 minutes, because that is all it takes to get a deal done of this magnitude and they won't tamper before 12:00 pm.

    Browns releasing Jarvis Landry

Another receiver is set to hit the open market.

According to several reports, the Browns are releasing Jarvis Landry.

The move will clear $14.9 million in cap space for Cleveland while costing just $1.5 million in dead cap.

After the Browns agreed to deal for Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper on Saturday, the organization had given Landry permission to seek a trade. But with Landry set to make $14.3 million in base salary, apparently no trade partner materialized.

Landry was traded to the Browns in 2018 after spending his first four seasons with the Dolphins. His best season for the club was in 2019, when he caught 83 passes for 1,174 yards with six touchdowns.

Landry battled injury in 2021, playing only 12 games. He caught 52 passes for 570 yards with a pair of TDs.

A five-time Pro Bowler, Landry led the league with 112 receptions with Miami back in 2017. The veteran receiver has 688 receptions for 7,598 yards with 37 TDs in his career. He’s also completed 6-of-9 passes for 146 yards with a touchdown.

Dolphins, Emmanuel Ogbah agree to four-year deal

One of the most desirable pass rushers of this year’s free agent class won’t even hit the open market.

Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah has agreed to a four-year deal worth $65 million with $32 million fully guaranteed, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Ogbah recorded 9.0 sacks in each of his last two seasons with the Dolphins. He also had 24 quarterback hits, nine tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for Miami in 2021.

After starting his career as a Browns second-round pick in 2016, Ogbah spent a season with the Chiefs in 2019 before heading to Miami.

Ogbah was rated as PFT’s No. 17 free agent on this year’s top 100 list.

In 83 career games with 67 starts, Ogbah has 36.0 sacks, 85 quarterback hits, 37 tackles for loss, and seven forced fumbles.

The Cardinals went into the offseason with their top two running backs on track for free agency and one of them will be remaining with the team.

According to multiple reports, James Conner has agreed to a three-year deal in Arizona. Chase Edmonds has agreed to sign with the Dolphins in a deal that cannot become official until the new league year begins on Wednesday.

Conner, who was No. 66 on PFT’s list of the top free agents, signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals last offseason and set a career high with 18 touchdowns during the regular season. Conner scored 15 of those touchdowns on the ground while carrying the ball 202 times for 752 yards. He also caught 37 passes for 375 yards.

The Cardinals also re-signed tight end Zach Ertz over the weekend. Wide receivers Christian Kirk and A.J. Green remain on track for free agency, however.

UPDATE 12:28 p.m. ET: The Cardinals announced the deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports it is worth $21 million with $13.5 million fully guaranteed.

Dolphins agree to terms with Chase Edmonds

The Dolphins are spending some money at running back.

Free agent running back Chase Edmonds agreed to a two-year, $12.6 million contract with $6.1 million guaranteed, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Edmonds was a fourth-round pick of the Cardinals in 2018 and has played his entire career in Arizona. Last year he played in 12 games, with 11 starts, and had 116 carries for 592 yards, plus 43 catches for 311 yards.

The running back position has been devalued in recent years in the NFL, and teams that spend on running backs often come to regret it. But the Dolphins apparently think Edmonds is going to be the right fit in new coach Mike McDaniel’s offense, and they’re willing to spend to get him.

So, a shorter less productive version of Ben, without any rape accusations attached to his name... It "might" be an upgrade.

I'm so pumped. This is Tannehill 2.0. But I think this guy has more ability and he's coming out of a great situation with Daboll and Dorsey.

Oh just wait until he checks down for the 43rd time in a game or shows his patented deer in headlights face when the game is in primetime.

Really good athlete. Piss poor deep ball. Great attitude. Not much going on between the ears though.

You just signed a guy that lost his job to Nick Foles (The bad version, not the playoff hero version) and then Andy Dalton.

LOL you missed the playoffs 9 out of 10 years before he got there, he had a winning record 4 straight years and went to the playoffs twice and you're mad? Maybe it's not the QB?
