My question if it happened Saturday and they knew who it was Saturday or even early Sunday morning why did it take until after the game to arrest him?

They say he was arrested after an investigation. That probably included finding out the whereabouts, which might not have immediately been, "Oh, he's playing in a game right up the street". The also probably got some corroborating witness testimony before just arresting a guy based on one man's description or naming as the suspect. If he isn't arrested on sight, it doesn't always happen immediately.

What shocks me the most is the time of day. The police were dispatched to the hospital to take the victims statement at 5:50 PM on Saturday. I know bad things happen when you stay out too late, but what state of mind was Alvin in mid-afternoon that caused this? I've always liked the guy, but this throws up some pretty big red flags.

Ok, makes more sense now. So they were out partying all night and leaving the club at 6:30 am... That's some hard core partying for a guy that needed to play a game that day, even if it is a glorified exhibition...and in Vegas. THUS brings the reasoning behind NOT holding sports events like this in Vegas. It's the adult playground of the world. Too many temptations. I am shocked this was the only incident all weekend.

There seems to be some confusion here. Is that 5:50 AM or PM?

NFL knew police wanted to speak to Alvin Kamara before Pro Bowl began

Saints running back Alvin Kamara was questioned and arrested by police at Allegiant Stadium after Sunday’s Pro Bowl. What did the NFL know about the situation before the Pro Bowl began?

TMZ.com reported on Tuesday that the Las Vegas Police Department told the NFL “hours before” the game that Kamara “was a suspect in a felony battery.” The league thereafter allowed Kamara to play in the game.

Asked for comment on the situation, here’s what an NFL spokesman told PFT: “We were notified that law enforcement wanted to speak to him after the game regarding an incident. There was no arrest warrant at the time and he said he would speak to law enforcement which he did.”

Whether or not the league knew that Kamara was a suspect in a felony battery, the league was on notice of a potential problem. They could have asked questions about what had happened, about why they wanted to talk to Kamara. About what he allegedly did.

Either they didn’t, or they did and it didn’t stop them from letting him play.

Police are notoriously vague to people outside an investigation, which at that point is all it was. It is definitely feasible that they told him witnesses put him at the scene of an investigation and they would like to get a statement. If they wanted to, they could have said “before” the game, rather than “after” the game. The warrant for his arrest may have been posted to simply keep him in Nevada since he admitted to being involved.

We may find out in the end, he threw a punch, but ultimately broke up what others did to the victim. Either way, he should be punished harshly, but a lot of us are jumping to conclusions.

Many saying the Saints will release him immediately. There are too many examples of domestic abuse playing in the NFL to force the Saints to release him in this instance before all facts are brought out in the investigation to come. One glaring one on my Browns team. Hunt was one I thought should never be allowed back into the NFL.

We don’t know what led to the incident. What we do know is a man was hospitalized because of it, so it definitely went too far. Whether Kamara is ultimately the one who put him there is yet to be determined.

If a man takes a swing at someone in my party, I’m going to defend my friend, whether that friend is a man or a woman. I would not however continue to kick and swing at someone on the ground. At that point it is over. If he’s stupid enough to get back up and continue to harass, that’s a different story.

We need facts, there should be video if it’s in a hotel/club elevator space. Security in Vegas is the best in the world. TMZ will show us what happened before the case ever does.

If the fight was in someone’s asshole Vegas would have video of it. They have cameras that cover every square inch of every casino.

    Or . . .

They (the NFL) did ask and the LVPD officers wouldn't provide any additional details about the alleged incident involving an otherwise law abiding citizen.

Police: Saints’ Kamara, 3 others attacked man at Vegas club

LAS VEGAS (AP) — New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is accused of punching and badly injuring a man in an attack also involving at least three men who were with Kamara last weekend at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub, according to a police arrest report.

The alleged victim told Las Vegas police he fell unconscious on the floor, where police said video showed him being punched, kicked and stomped on by three people who accompanied Kamara at the rooftop nightclub Drai’s at the Cromwell hotel-casino.

“At no point during this attack did (the man) hit, punch or push Kamara or any of his associates,” said the police report made public Tuesday.

The identities of the three other alleged attackers were blacked out in the police report. No other arrests have been made. Officer Larry Hadfield, a Las Vegas police spokesman, called the investigation ongoing.

Police said the attack happened about 6:30 a.m. Saturday outside an elevator at Drai’s, and the alleged victim first spoke with police at a hospital about 5:30 p.m. Police attributed the delay to the man receiving medical treatment.

Kamara played in the NFL Pro Bowl at noon local time Sunday before police interviewed him at Allegiant Stadium after the game. He was arrested about 3:30 p.m. on suspicion of felony battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Kamara posted bond for his release from the Clark County jail. He has a March 8 court date. A conviction on the felony charge could result in a sentence of one to five years in state prison.

Kamara’s attorneys, Drew Findling in Atlanta and David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld in Las Vegas, released a statement promising to investigate “all of the circumstances and individuals associated with this matter to determine both the facts and motivations of all involved.”

The defense attorneys’ statement portrayed Kamara as a “hard-working and community minded individual” and called the allegations against him “not consistent with who Mr. Kamara has shown himself to be in both his public and private life.”

An NFL spokesman, Brian McCarthy said the matter was being reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy.

At New Orleans Saints headquarters in Metairie, Louisiana, newly named team head coach Dennis Allen called it too early for him to comment about Kamara’s arrest.

“I think we’ve got to gather all the information before we have any sort of comment on that,” he said.

Kamara punched the man approximately eight times, according to the police report, while the three men with Kamara stomped on the man’s face, chest and legs a total of more than 20 times.

Police said the incident began when Kamara put his hand on the man’s chest to stop him from entering the elevator, the man pushed the football player’s hand away, a person with Kamara punched the man, and Kamara “immediately attacked.”

When police asked Kamara why he punched the man, “Kamara indicated he thought (the man) was running away and had done something to his group so he chased and punched (him) several times,” a police detective said in the report.

Kamara also told police he remembered the man calling one of his friends ugly and later threatening to “whoop” someone.

Kamara is one of the top running backs in the NFL. He had more than 1,300 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns on the way to being selected for his fifth Pro Bowl in five seasons.

Its Kamara so no way they release him immediatly now if it had been Josh Adams or Ingram different story. Even with Hunt the chiefs didnt cut him right away it wasnt until video surfaced that he was cut. Even then it was the action in the video but the fact he had lied about his actions that got him cut. Talent is always going to win out over morals eventually. Its why some guys are gone before you can type their name in and others stick around for long post criminal activity careers (adam jones, ray lewis, ben roethlisberger). Yes before people flock and say ben was never charged if a back up average talent qb is twice accused of rape they are not in the league anymore. Same with ray lewis if its a back up barely special teams linebacker they are out of the league. Point being Kamara is going anywhere soon from the saints and if he does someone will snap him up.

Well, with the graphic description of the attack released by the police department, this might be one of those instances that won’t require the video. The video DOES exist, so I’m sure at some point we are all going to see it.

Can anyone explain why he is the only one arrested?

Maybe They have not identified the other men and Kamara isnt ficing them up? Or they have been arested but are not newsworthy so we dont know.

They named the other assailants in the police report, blacked out those names prior to public release and then announced there have been no other arrests at this time. Makes no sense at all. It’s like they got there headliner and that’s what they wanted all along. They have been VERY available to the press and it’s almost like they want to talk about Kamara. Granted, if it happened as described, he needs to go to jail for a couple of years.
