Good point... PFR doesnt cover it. Im not saying it doesnt exist, but I couldnt find anything in a little research this morning. I'd think it would be an interesting stat, but you know how it is, kickers get no respect, lol.
They tell you how many game winning kicks a kicker has accomplished but not how many were as time ran out on the clock.
Guess I got in a hurry. Vikings will announce him as HC on Thursday. He's got a parade to attend, lol.
Sounds like he plans to call the offensive plays next year. I don't know why, but for the most part I always view that as a red flag when a head coach wants to distract himself by calling plays.
Rodgers has a ton of talent but im thinking teamsmthat would persue him now are like people who choose to date/marry a cheater and are then shocked when they cheat again. Whoever gets rodgers will be playing out this same scenario in 2 years maybe less.
In what must be the craziest offseason ever, the cherry on top of it all would undoubtedly be Colin Kaepernick getting back into the league ha. In fact given the level of bizarre we've seen to this point, it feels like a lock lol.
It’s one of those silly situations where, Is he better than 10 current NFL backups? Yeah. But will he disappoint anyone who wants a starter? Also yeah. Third, is he a distraction? Probably, yeah. So is it worth it? Guess it depends on a team’s level of desperation
I think there are less desperate teams now than there was a few years ago so I doubt anyone takes a chance on him. Though as I type this the seahawks were one of the teams that kicked his tires before.
In lieu of giveaways and promotions for season seat holders, the Washington Commanders will be asking their patrons to once again donate some juice to the Dan Synder fund.
Strange going-ons in Cardinals land. Kyler Murray wants big bucks, but the front office hasnt offered a contract. Murray hints he wont play unless offered a contract that he excepts. Murray is not an elite QB statistically... I dont think he should be threatening a hold-out at this point in his career. He's only going to make matters worse, in my opinion. Contracts are out of control and it seems the greedy are rising to the top, not the cream. Murray has every right to hold-out and demand to get paid, I just think he ought to have a legit portfolio on his side before demanding big bucks.
I might add - Despite suffering an ankle injury that cost Murray three games, the signal-caller still finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback last season by throwing for 3,787 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also ran for 423 yards and added five touchdowns using his legs. Not bad at all and maybe he can do better if not just maintain that, but im a 'show me' kinda guy.
It’s not only about money, but leverage with decision making when it comes to his head coach. Murray’s new contract would help insulate Kliff, and I believe a lot of the ruckus early in the offseason had to do with the front office refusing to commit to Kingsbury. Now that they have added years to Kliff’s contract the next best step to protect his future in Arizona is to get his hand picked, franchise passer on a long term deal. These two are currently glued at the hip and Kyler is playing it in a logical way, IMO.
See, I never thought of that angle... thanks for that. Things look differently when I look at it through that perspective. Murray will eventually get paid, Kingsbury and Kyler will both be happy and the future is solidified. I guess I got a sorta red flag when Kyler was threatening not to play unless he got paid and I assumed it was for a very lucrative/larger than life contract, which it just could be... (thats what I get for assuming). I also got confused (and assumed) with the no-play threat as if Kyler was pissed off. I was thinking he was shooting himself in the foot and causing a potential riff between he and the FO which might cause a distraction. Im guessing that this is now just all part of the goings-on of business decisions which I never really was very good at. Riffs between your QB1 and the front office cant be good, but upon further review/thought, like you said Tim, its all part of the business.
