Georgie and Ted were 2 of the 5 who made the call, and even though he’s got former experience on Super Bowl winning teams, pretty sure he had nothing to do with TB12 in NE, Rodgers in GB, or Mahomes in KC.

I'm not sure how I feel about this pick. Guess it doesn't really matter, we'll see what he does with the first portion and see who he hires for HC. Shit, with the lack of picks we won't even really know what kind of drafter we have for another few years. And I can't agree more on Sean Payton. If he's available throw ALL THE MONEY YOU CAN at this man. But, it sounds like he's stepping away because he's lost the passion? Can a brinks truck of money from the Bears combined with Fields reignite the passion? I can hope for a few minutes.

My thoughts were that the interview went something like this:

This is a good thing and should've been what was planned long before a GM was hired.

 

There was a rumor it was in the event he doesn't get the Steelers job, they might bring him back next year to be the President of Football Ops? To me though it just seems like wishful thinking

I think it's be awesome if he came in for the GM job and sold them on a future President role, but until we hear something even remotely more true, I think it's just the normal hot air.

 

Of the 3 finalists, I prefer him to Caldwell and Quinn.

Dude has a mountain of a climb not to be a 2-3 years then done guy…

 

Do you know if Poles was instrumental in this decision?

 

I assume he was since he made it a condition of his contract, and if he wasn't the earth would be shaking by now.
