No doubt the oline is part of the problem but you can call plays to help them. When your oline cant hold for long dont call plays that take forever to develop.
Brian Daboll's offense looks like complete ass generating just 6points against the lowly Jags. Bears brain trust: Well i think we've seen enough. Ryan, hire that man! And when you've done that bring us another round of warm milks. We're celebrating.
I realize its a sample size of only 1 game, but . . . Jordan Love does NOT look like the heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers.
Bears have every right to be upset and now they are going to be fined and nothing is going to be done about it. That's what happens when a league works with at least 2 different unions.
This years NFL is unpredictable, period. Playoffs will be determined by coin toss... ok, Im being facetious. Seriously, Ive never seen anything like this or at least dont remember anything like this since my NFL fanhood began as a kid. Its amazing to me how a certain team or two can look like world beaters one week and get burried the next by a far lesser team... amazing, to say the least.
Refs discovered a way to let the Patriots win a game guaranteed. Turn a blind eye to an injury for 30 seconds and only then call the injury timeout that resets the play clock on a running game clock so there is no punt with about 30 seconds remaining.
Yep. And the fact the zebras basically decided they weren't calling penalties on the Patriots in the redzone. And one of the quickest delay of game calls i've ever seen. That was an awful game to watch. If you wanna know how limited Mac Jones is the Patriots themselves told you. If he wins OROY it will be an utter travesty.
Just one more thing to add to this tho, bringing it round to my own team. As pathetic as it was Mac Jones only attempting 3 passes and pretty much ANY QB in the league could've won that game..... Belicheat played the conditions and bottom line, won. The Bears played in inclement weather with a lot of rain sunday and Matt Nagy(yes, Nagy) called The Red Retread to drop back and throw it 45 times! This while they were moving the ball well on the ground. The Bears lost that game by 11 with 4 INTs inside their own 30 which turned into 21 points. With David Montgomery and excellent rookie Khalil Herbert, Belichek would've run the ball 50times in that game. Not saying its a lock at all, but change nothing but the HCs, the Bears legit could've won that game with Palpatine against the best record in the NFC instead of it being over with 12mins left in the 1st Quarter. And that is the difference between who many consider the GOAT and a dumbass who's completely out of his depth.
So... I'm 3/4 of the way through a bottle of John Walker Red and I'm thinking about some football. Here. We. Go. I got 4 questions for the group: If you could switch out any head coach situation in the NFL that you think would result in an immediate Super bowl contender, which team would it be and which coach are you pilfering? You only get one chance to take a player from any roster and move him to another team to change the entire outlook for that roster. Who do you got and where are they going? You have to kill off one franchise in the NFL and move them to another city with another team name. Who gets the axe, where are they going and what are you naming them? Final question is big picture - You can make one rule change that you believe will change the game forever in a positive fashion. What's the rule, what's the change and why?
@EvertonBears I'm going to concede on Sam Darnold that it's likely never going to happen for him as a starter, with the only caveat being that it looks like Rhule and company probably have no business coaching in the NFL. Can I get the caveat? I'd also like to take a moment to remind everyone how I feel about Adam Gase ever being a head coach in the NFL.
@Willie @Badd_Man1 So, where are you at on Zimmer? I like the guy as a defensive coordinator but I think he likely has to go as the head coach of the Vikings if they don't make the playoffs this season. In my opinion - Minnesota is one of the better rosters in the league to run a simple plan week in, week out, that can be effective enough that a few solid coaching decisions should be able to put them over the top in these close game that the continue to lose.
@LAOJoe How much consideration do you think the Eagles should entertain when it comes to rolling with Gardner as the starting quarterback for Philly? I understand the allure of Hurts, but the obvious arm limitations that have been displayed this season should be enough for management to understand that they have to look at other options to move the ball through the air.
@gidion72 17-0 didn't happen, so would you be willing to settle for Tomlin going over .500, and if they go under that mark should there be a panic for Pittsburgh?
@Lyman @SAS @IrishDawg42 @TopDawg I'm tagging all four of you because the Baker conversation goes way back with all us to before the draft. Leaving where I was right/wrong out of it for the moment - Where do you think you were right/wrong on him and what do you see as his future in Cleveland?
@BearsWillWin @EvertonBears @Mongo76 @dlinebass5 @patg006 The Bears should have shit canned Nagy and company prior to last off-season. The draft gave them the opportunity to mortgage future picks for a quarterback in order to try and save their jobs. They failed, although Justin Fields could be the franchise quarterback the Bears desperately need. What's the short solution for turning things around, which core players need to remain and what dead weight needs to be cut?
And I have just enough booze coursing through my veins to think that I posted this all in the random opinions thread, so now I gotta move all this shit over there. lol (posted it in the New and Notes, just in case this gets any more confusing...)
@SoCalSaint Should the Saints consider Winston the starter going into 2022 or should there be a focus on getting another passer? How much of a hill do they have to climb in the South?
@neanderthal ike Are you all in on Zach Wilson or is everything still looking like shit for NY? I know you like some of what happened last off-season so I'm interested in your thoughts.
