2021 CLEVELAND BROWNS

Yesterday was the 3rd time this season that the Browns kind of fell apart going down the stretch. KC was a comedy of 4th QTR errors, as was the Chargers game, and yesterday was no different...Sadly it's our star players that are putting the ball on the ground. So now Landry gets to join Chubb in the huge 4th QTR fumble club, as we are driving to put the game away....Obviously it wasn't all on Landry. We did punt 7 times. So it was a collective garbage game for everyone on offense.

I thought the play calling was creative on the first drive, but of course Hooper drops the TD and we settled for three. After that, seemed like Hue Jackson was calling the plays the rest of the way, and it was a special kind of awful. It's obvious that Stefanski's main goal is to win the time of possession, and that takes precedence over everything else up to and including actually scoring points. Hard to watch that shit. So in our 3 game home stand we scored a combined 41 points and lost two of three. That's obviously not going to cut it in today's NFL. Not gonna win shit averaging less than 14 points per week.

Don't forget the Steelers were coming off a bye. They were beat up pretty good going into it. I'm sure it helped to have the extra week off.

  3. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

They only had four more days of R&R than did the Browns. Still doesn't excuse the lack of effort by multiple Browns players.

    Crazy Crextin’s Musings:

How phuquing disappointing was that game! So much for 6-0 in the division.
Landry’s fumble late in the game cost the Browns IMHO. Great effort, but hang on the bleepin’ ball.

I disagree, this was a bad throw by Baker as well. Too high and lack of touch. This one was not all on Hooper.

Odell “stone hands” Beckham is a detriment to this team he is not giving 100% effort every down every play. I’d wager that he’s had the MOST drops of any WR/RB/TE on the team so far this year. Couple that with the fact that he has not made very many if any clutch plays. Time to cut bait IMHO.

Totally agree the Yinzers wanted it worse than the Browns did. At home no less! I don’t see the fire in these guys week in and week out that will lead to any championship. They are NOT hungry enough.

The lack of discipline shown by this team all year long has bothered me to no end. They are the most penalized team in the league! That is on Stephanski 100%. How many stupid penalties do we have to take each game before he cracks down and starts getting after these guys?

While CIN looked like the cream of the division after beating BAL. They then lay and egg and lose to the NYJ. IF the Browns ever decide they WANT it bad enough it the division is there for the taking. They just haven’t shown that level of commitment.
Injuries are a part of the game, but the browns have depth at every position and it has shown, at times.

I love this team and always will, but am left wondering if they will ever be hungry enough and have the desire to dominate, and win championships like we all believe they can.
Going on safari again the next few weeks. We’ll see if they can step up and start doing what we believe they can. WIN and do it with absolute authority!

    Go BROWNS!

Is there any possibility there is an opportunity to trade OBJ before tomorrow? Where to?

Baltimore, Cincy or Pittsburgh. They'll get him for a dozen jock straps and he will shine.

He's always had his best games against Dallas. Maybe Jerry would be interested? I'd trade him straight up right now for Cedrick Wilson Jr....

I dunno, friend. They're paying him $42 million to make that kind of catch.

High, maybe -- he does have Heyward right there in his passing lane. But that's 10 fingers on two hands on that football by Hooper and it goes right through them.

Instead, it's David Njoku who's leading the team in yards and not Hooper. Njoku is also highly-rated from the analytics side.

That he isn't getting the looks is astounding to me and a failure of our coaching staff.

Agreed....The look in Baker's eyes for most of the game yesterday was more "confusion" than "fire"...When the fire did show up, Landry immediately doused it with the fumble....

Still not sure how that wasn't roughing on Haden though. First contact came when Bake was over a yard out of bounds, and ol' #23 drilled him.

At this point, we probably have to send a draft pick with him to get something back. And I'm all for it.

It was a hit on a Cleveland Browns QB. That's legal any time, any where in the NFL Officiating handbook. We've got receipts to prove it.

I know. We always lead the league in apology letters from officiating crews...smh

I didn't think it was "uncatchable" when you wrote this, but now watching it again.. Not only wasn't it "too high" but he actually had just the right amount of touch to get it over Heyward's hands. I don't know if he could have thrown it any better in that situation.

Not that it surprised me, but this is something I did not know until yesterday. That's gotta fall on the coaching staff.

I agree that Hooper should have caught it. I too am from the school of, if you can get your two hands on it you should catch it. I also think that if Baker had lead Hooper a bit farther and hit him in stride... Not all on Baker but not all on Hooper either. IMHO

Just a bunch of little stuff that if it ever gets cleaned up this team will be very dangerous.

Beckham, Landry and Hooper are arguably the most over-paid receiving trio in the league...and it might not be much of an argument.

We are going to agree to disagree on this one Crex.. The touch placed on the ball actually DID lead him, if he hadn't turned around like it was a curl/comeback pattern, which I don't believe it was based on where the defender is on him running in stride. Based on the defenders path, I think that was a crossing pattern, which would have led him towards the sideline if he hadn't turned. I don't know, I would have to look on ALL-22 footage to know for sure. Maybe it was a comeback route that he over threw, it just doesn't seem that way from the angle.
