Well if you didn't get fired for smoking weed in the restroom...you would be.

I don't think it was the weed so much as it was getting caught with a garbage can full of visors while doing it.

He's lying and he definitely doesn't believe his own words. Look at his body language. He's scratching his head and not meeting the press' eyes.

Khalil Mack not expected to play this week, might go to IR.

Problem here is not that we'll struggle without him. It's that now Nagy/Pace/Georgie have a nice excuse for why we missed the playoffs to tell us all at the end of the season.

A few years ago, my wife asked me why I'm so cynical about a lot of things. She knows why, now. No one can suffer through this team and be optimistic.

I never assumed Pace would be fired after this season and I still don't. Nagy will be the scapegoat. Assuming that's true, Pace has every incentive to sell our vets now to stockpile some draft picks for 2022 and beyond. But Pace is so incompetent and delusional that if he does make any trade I think he will be in "buy" mode. He suggested this yesterday in an interview with WBBM before the game: Bears GM Ryan Pace on trade deadline: 'Our aggressive mindset will be ongoing'.

I think his goal is to get 8 wins again, get that final playoff seed, and claim till eternity that he's guided us to 3 playoff appearances in 4 years. The next GM is going to come into a much worse cap + draft capital situation than Pace did in 2015.

It is hard to lose a game like this by 11points. Truly. You dominate TOP, you have more FD's, better 3rd down conversion % and you lose by 11. Hard to do.

It happens when your defense channels the Mel Tucker years. They shit down their leg, then they shit all over the bed, then they shit the house. 460yards of offense by a unit that is injury ravaged and didn't even have Kittle. The DL is meant to be the strength on that side but they were the worst unit on the field yesterday. We know the secondary sucks but the DL was abysmal. They let em run it right down their throats, then in the passing game forget about sacks, you can't even get 1 QB hit! Against a statue like Jimmy fucking Crapolo?! Drops back over 30 times AND YOU CAN'T GET 1 QB HIT?!!!

Blang and i have chatted recently about whether or not they've quit on the coach. I don't think this is a question of that personally. If they're giving Nagy the bird then they don't keep playing last week when the Offense is putting up 3 points, but then put in a total no show in the 2nd half of a game you're winning where the offense is actually scoring some points for once. This shit is cultural. They're not rebelling, they're functioning in the environment that Nagy has created with his BS Be You bee bop doo wop don't give a fuck what of a culture.

Below is the post game rant shit from DDP, but there's a very interesting moment at 37.20 where someone in the stands filmed Fields amazing TD run but kept filming as Fields went to his bench. Coaches are hyped, a few other players came over, but for the most part it wasn't nearly as lit as i would've expected. A play like that the whole bench should explode, it should energise everyone and spur the team. Most guys were just walkin around, didn't look all that invested. Cultural.

That vid is a nice segway tho, cos what i really care to talk about is Fields. Again, i don't give a fuck about the final numbers, completely unrepresentative. That was the best game Fields has played. Reading between the lines there's some major things to be hopeful about. I think his internal play speed is picking up folks, ding ding ding. It was all far more decisive. I said in weeks past he looked like he was trying too hard to be a passer. He's realising faster when its not there and he's being decisive enough to just take off. Also, the OL wasn't pass blocking any better, Fields was just getting the ball out quicker. He looks to be processing faster and seemed yesterday to know where to go with the ball more. Good things guys. Not getting carried away, but to be able to show progress in the middle of this shitshow, encouraging.

Again, his numbers look like nothing, but actually before the pass that was picked, which was 100% Mooney's fault, Fields was sitting on a QB rating of 100+. Imagine Mooney catches the 50yard pass that hits him in both hands and it would be 110+. Add in 100yards rushing. Fields played very well yesterday.

The reason the Bears lost this game was the Defense. The reason it wasn't close im gonna put on the O-Line too. The Bears ran the ball well initially. At the half Herbert had 13carries for 66yards. The 2nd half that 5 man clown car got the taste slapped out of them. 10carries for 6yards, that was the 2nd half production for Herbert. The C and both G's were horrible today.

Yep, yesterday was the most confident and decisive he's looked. Progress. That's all I want for this season. More losses are probably better in terms of leading to a potential house cleaning. The outcome yesterday is what this team needs. If Fields looks like a stud by the end of the season and we go 3-14, no here will be salty.

It was a tough catch, that Mooney should've had, plus he was double covered. There's been many other egregious drops by A-Rob and Kmet this year that have taken sure TDs off the board. I'm glad Fields took that shot and the throw was pretty on the money all things considered. Mooney is a solid #2 WR, not a #1. Again, with the support the receivers, TEs, and O-line have given fields to this point, we can't be that pessimistic about where Fields stands right now.

That link says it all, he will be in "buy" mode, which means he doesn't really have the best interests of this team at heart. He's acting like the Rams, who are legitimately a piece or two away and trading away picks like candy to make it happen. The Bears, being completely honest, do not have that level of talent.

    A. Rob has disappeared. He's a great guy, I like him, but he's not going to be with the team next year. He is the guy to sell, 100%. Fields doesn't even have a rapport with him. He's not creating separation.

I really don't have a lot of thoughts on the game, Ev & Blang covered it. Fields is showing good progress- I agree completely on the lack of numbers, this is where the eye test is most compelling. We are definitely still evaluating the "could-be" potential of Fields and his growth. That's really what the whole year has been about. I feel good about Fields after yesterday. He and fucking Herbert (what a find! That kid is legitimate) are the bright spots.

It doesn't surprise me that Tabor ran the show more efficiently, Nagy can't even get that right when he's not even calling plays. The Defense put on an "inspired" performance, in that it "inspired" me to drink large amounts of Whiskey. Mack being off the field definitely hurt, as did No-tacklin' Jackson, but goddamn was that bad. Again, Ev covered it, the lack of pressure at all is astounding. And my god, the front 7 against the run, holy fucking lord. I thought the front 7 was the STRENGTH of this team. You can't tell me that's on Mack or the safeties being out, that is our starting 7 getting punked, repeatedly. 137 yards from Mitchell and 2 fucking rushing TDs from Jimmy? Fucking hell.

With that performance? The Steelers are looking like a much tougher game. And I'll bet any amount you want that they lose to the Ravens after the bye. The patented Nagy losing streak will get to 5 then, and then there's the Lions who are deciding to make history as the only team to have two winless seasons. I guess the Browns going winless meant the Lions have to one up it and have the *inagural* 17 game season have a 0-17 record. I love the Lions so much for that alone.

Man though, imagine if they do lose against the Steelers and Ravens, and THEN lose to the Lions. They'd have to fire Nagy mid-season right? Right?

So even with Lazor calling the plays, I noticed like a lot of Nagy games, not much separation with receivers from opposing dbs.

As has been said, fuck Nagy. In a presser yesterday he said when watching down/distance with Lazor running show, he thought he could tell ‘most likely plays’ but said it was “challenging for him” because Lazor mixed things up with the same formations.

What a fucking concept. Try that when you begin your McDonald’s career…

What was the point of keeping Damere Byrd?

Everybody except Quan and Fields should be available for a price.

I won’t beat up the defense too much, because my expectations for them weren’t high to begin with. Yeah, it was a fugly 2nd half, but this isn’t an elite unit anymore. It’s a middle of the pack unit that’s overachieved a few times.
