Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will be without a full receiving corps in his first NFL start. Wide receiver Keelan Cole is on the Jets’ inactive list for Sunday’s game against the Panthers. Cole was added to the injury report with a knee injury on Thursday and he was listed as questionable to play on Friday. Jamison Crowder is not on the inactive list, but he will also miss the game because he remains on the COVID-19 reserve list. Corey Davis, Denzel Mims, second-round pick Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios, and Jeff Smith are in the lineup for the Jets. The Panthers are also down a wideout. Shi Smith was ruled out with a shoulder injury. PFT
Texans seem to be a dumpster fire during the off season with all the watson mess but with tyrod taylor under center they ahve jumped out tonan early 14-0 lead. One td by ingram and a recieving td by johnson.
Titans offense that was supposed to be so unstopable with the addition of Jones looking horrible so far. Took a trick play on 4th for them to operate past their own 22 in first 4 drives. Didnt go anywhere as they were forced to punt shortly after.
Titans finally on the score board on a ryan tannehill scramble. Still not looking good as the cardinals made wrs drop 2 td passes then on third the titans got to first and goal where the cardinals stuffed the running game twice before taannehills td (might have been a designed draw might have been a true scramble missed the replay)
Steelers’ defense makes a statement with big win in Buffalo It wasn’t always pretty for the Steelers today in Buffalo. But it was the kind of defensive struggle the Steelers have won many times through the years. Led by the newly wealthy T.J. Watt, the Steelers’ defense did a number on the highly touted Bills’ offense, largely shutting the Bills down in a 23-16 win. Watt had a strip-sack on Josh Allen and hit Allen as he was passing on multiple occasions, and he looked like exactly the kind of player the Steelers wanted him to be when they gave him a huge new contract last week. Pittsburgh also got an impressive game from Cameron Heyward, who had a sack and knocked down a couple passes, and the Steelers looked like they’re going to have one of the best defenses in the NFL this year. Bengals pull out wild overtime win over Vikings The Bengals need Joe Burrow to take a big step forward in Year Two. So far, so good. Burrow had a solid game today against the Vikings, leading Cincinnati to a 27-24 overtime win against Minnesota. Showing no ill-effects from last year’s season-ending knee injury, Burrow completed 20 of 27 passes for 261 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions, and he completed a huge pass to convert a fourth-and-inches and get the Bengals into field goal range in the final minute of overtime. Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy sustains high ankle sprain The Denver Broncos have lost second-year wide receiver Jerry Jeudy for an undetermined length of time due to an injury. Jeudy has a high ankle sprain and X-rays were negative, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Jeudy was carted off the field in the second half of the Broncos' game against the New York Giants. He'd just made a reception that put the Broncos in the red zone when his right leg was caught beneath Giants cornerback James Bradberry, who made the tackle on the play. A potential fumble was reviewed on the play when Jeudy lost the ball, but replay reviews determined he was down before he lost control. As a result, the Broncos picked up a first down to the Giants' 13-yard line on the completion on what became a touchdown drive. NFL.com
Saints dominate the Packers In a stunningly one-sided game, a Saints team that had to vacate New Orleans because of Hurricane Ida rallied to turn in perhaps the most impressive performance of Week One, dominating the Packers with a 38-3 beatdown. Although it’s always inadvisable to overreact to the first game of the season, this game will re-shape how we look at both teams, with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers now facing major questions about whether they’re really contenders, and Jameis Winston and the Saints looking like a real threat to the rest of the NFC. Rodgers had one of the worst games of his career. He simply never got the Packers’ offense moving, and struggled with accuracy and finding open receivers against a good Saints defense. When he was pulled for Jordan Love in the fourth quarter, he had completed 15 of 28 passes for just 133 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. The 38-3 loss was the worst of Rodgers’ career. PFT
