Speaking of backups scoring what was with the vikings giving mike boone a carry inside the 5. Thankfully it didnt cost me anywhere but on saturday i was peeling paint with my words when he vultured a td from cook.

When I wrote this I didn’t even realize I’d won that money. Kinda thought I got in as the 5 seed so if I didn’t make the final my understanding was I was 5th. I didn’t realize I was playing the other conference finals loser for 3rd. Glad I won that without ever looking at my lineup.

By third pick do you mean 2(1) ?
I will exhaust all my options, but that pick will be highly sought after I think. The longer I play dynasty the more I think it’s possible I do more prep for my rookie drafts than some real NFL teams do for the real deal.

 

No I was talking about 1.3.

 

I’ll consider that too. I’ll talk to you closer to rookie draft time, probably post NFL draft, when A) I’m done scouting all the options, and B) we know destinations for everybody.

NFL didn’t realize Week 14 byes would impact fantasy football playoffs



For the NFL and its effort to craft a 2021 regular-season schedule, the 102,844th time was a charm.

For millions of fantasy football players, there was one thing about it that wasn’t charming.

Peter King points out in his Football Morning in America column that the league opted to park a quartet of byes in Week 14 without realizing that it would land on the first week of fantasy playoffs. On that weekend, the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, and Eagles won’t play.

King notes that ESPN leagues likely will apply a cumulative approach to that postseason round, with the games stretching over two weeks and eight quarters. That will lessen the impact of such a late bye week, but for those who make fantasy a big part of their football-season reality, it becomes an important consideration when putting teams together for the 2021 fantasy season.

Another possibility would be to simply add a week to the fantasy regular season, starting the playoffs in Week 15.

It’s not an ideal situation for the fantasy crowd (which generates plenty of interest and revenue for the league), but it’s one of the byproducts of stretching the regular season over 18 weeks. For example, one of the teams that will be off in Week 14 — the Dolphins — specifically asked not to have a bye after playing the Jaguars in London in Week Six. (Miami instead has a home game the following Sunday against the Falcons, who will be emerging from a bye after a Week Five game in London against the Jets.)

The good news is that those who play fantasy football can account for this quirk when putting their teams together. Plenty of other factors, including most notably injuries, can’t be.

I considered this when the NFL announced the extra game will be added. Both my main leagues are starting playoffs on week 15 this year since we have the extra week.

So he tried to create this fantasy football dilemma, that doesn't really exist....Obviously if the NFL is adding a week than Fantasy commissioners will adjust accordingly. Brilliant insight from the SI.

Yesterday we completed our 32nd Fantasy Football draft in my main league. 12 team PPR league that includes 6 pt TD passes. No carryover. Always a live draft (with the single exception of last year). Random draw for draft position. This year I got same spot as last year, picking 10th. Coming off yet another SB losing season. I've become the king of being "runner-up" somehow over the years in this league. I've made it to the Super Bowl 13 times, yet only managed to come away with the hardware twice. I'm like the Bills and Vikings combined when it comes to SB's. lol! But I like to point out, that's a lot of second place money I've snatched, though it doesn't stop the ridicule of being 2-11 in the title game. lol! What can ya do?

Can't make this up. CBS gave my draft an A- grade. No joke, second best grade in the league. lol!

We'll see how it goes. Not sure why I've been so snakebitten in the title game of my favorite league, but the hex doesn't seem to effect me in the other league's I play in. Only the championship that I covet the most. Naturally.

 

I have 3 leagues, and my #2 league draft is tonight at 9pm. We always start this one late because a couple team owners live out west. Obviously this is an on-line draft, but all other rules the same sans the 6pt TD passes. I'll update that one tomorrow. My team was crazy good in this league last year. Rolled into the playoffs at 12-1 (#1 seed), and then ran smack into Alvin Kamara's X-mas day 6 TD game. Season over. Rough way to see it end.

On Monday, the panicking owner(whom I don't personally know) asked if I would be interested in a trade. Keep in mind, this kid is a 20 something year old trash talking Steeler fan, who was bashing the Browns the entire draft. He only drafted 4 RB's, and one of them was Dobbins. hehe! After rejecting his original offer, I countered with an offer of Najee Harris, Raheem Mostert and Darnell Mooney for Dalvin Cook and Corey Davis, and he accepted. Booyah! I think that worked out well for me...With the extra roster spot open after trade, I put in a waiver claim for Ravens RB, Ty'Son Williams. It would be epic if I end up with the Raven's main RB after all that...lol!

 

Edwards will take plenty of carries for the Ravens at best Williams is in time share roll.

 

Some of you have some real serious draft skills... ima hire a couple of you to do my dirty work/thinking... oh wait, you probably want me to lose, lol.
