The kicking game is a concern or should be for the Browns. In my opinion they have to bring in a kicker to compete with McLaughlin before just giving him the job. Ive seen a shit-load of games botched or won by the kicking game. So, it is a concern for Cleveland and my beloved Vikings.
My 2 cents on the Falcons game is also kinda concerning. Probably the vast majority wont see snaps as the higher-ups fear injuries, but then on the other hand, will they be ready for a road game in KC. Some very tough and interesting decisions to be made.
I'm pretty sure CLE isn't going to risk any starters in the meaningless games. If the Covid season taught us anything, it's that pre-season games in general might not be necessary. I understand why coaches want them, but....
HELLO FELLOW HOUNDZ. Been a crazy summer. Hope you are all doing well. HAPPY BELATED B-DAY Lyman and TD YES I am concerned about that. I was wondering if Berry was on the horn to Dawson's agent. He might be willing come back for a shot at the post season. What do you think it would take to get Koo from ATL? More later... I think this is going to be a fun season to watch. If the run D improves this team is set to go long into the post season
Even if you don't necessarily like the Browns ya gotta appreciate the way this franchise has finally turned it around. Two decades of sadness and complete irrelevance, topped off by the infamous 1-31 run that we are only a couple years removed from, even though it seems like eons ago. This was unquestionably the worst team in all of sports. And now, here we are, the Cleveland Browns are rolling into the season as one of the favorites to potentially take down the Chiefs and represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Just the fact that the Browns are in the conversation as one of the best teams in the conference is almost hard to believe, but this is real. These guys are focused. They are saying and doing all the right things. The roster is stacked. All the coaches are returning with the same systems (something that probably hasn't happened since Marty Shottenhiemer was here). Most importantly, it's abundantly evident that this team is not satisfied with one playoff win. Truly exciting time to be a Browns fan and I can't wait to see them kick it off in KC... Side note: So after back to back weeks of being aired nationally on the NFL Network, the Browns are on NBC Sunday Night Football in Atlanta this week. That makes it 3 straight nationally televised preseason games for CLE.....Yep. Things are definitely changing around here.
Even if you don't necessarily like the Browns ya gotta appreciate the way this franchise has finally turned it around. I agree Dawg...........BTW Happy Belated Birthday. I go back too the AFC Central Days.......Houston Oilers vs Cleveland Browns.....my ALL - Time Favourite NFLer Earl Campbell would Freight Train the Browns Defense.....those were good days Dawg and it is really nice to see the Cleveland back in the conversation. Good Luck in 2021.......I want to draft Chubb in RD 1......I'm 6th overall and have a good chance.
First off, Earl Campbell was one of my favorite players growing up, despite playing on one of our rival teams... But... Rookie year he rushed for 1450 yards, but only managed 71 yards on 19 carries, he didn't play in the other game against Cleveland. 1979 he rushed for 1697 yards, but in two games against Cleveland he had 108 and 76 yards 1980 he rushed for 1934, but against the Browns... 106 and 109 1981 he rushed for 1376.. the Browns.. 42 and 31 1982 (strike shortened season) he rushed for 538.. vs. Browns 43 1983 (last real great season 1301 on the season, vs. Browns 130 yards (best game of his career against Cleveland), didn't play in their second game. 1984, only played against Cleveland once, but it was as a Saint, he rushed 6 times for 9 yards 1985 (his last season) he didn't play the Browns.. Again, it's hard to throw it back atcha, cause I loved watching him play.. But when you come on the Browns board to sling some shit, you better make sure it isn't playdough that you are throwing.
Just want to add most of what Vol posts is more like the diarrhea you get after a long night of drinking Busch beer and Jim Beam and then thinking throwing some Taco Bell on top of it is a good idea.
Taco Bell is closed at that time but an ultimate cheeseburger from 24 hour Jack in the Box is the bomb when you’re wasted
Irish beat me to it...Nice work brother! Now, if we want to talk about records, we can always talk about what happened when Brian Hoyer's Browns went to Nashville. lol! JK... let's talk running backs. Like many of us, I grew up in an era where RB's were the stars of the team even more so than QB's. So this is one of my favorite subjects. FTR: I don't include guys that played before my day, but it's still probably safe to assume Cleveland Browns #32 is the best. Anyway, that said, here's a quick list of my fave's..(flexible order, this is straight off top of my head) 1. Walter Payton 2. Bo Jackson 3. Earl Campbell 4. OJ Simpson 5. Barry Sanders 6. Marshall Faulk 7. Tony Dorsett 8. Adrian Peterson 9. Marcus Allen 10. Ladanian Tomlinson 11. Marshawn Lynch 12. Larry Csonka 13. Chuck Foreman 14. Eddie George 15. Jerome Bettis 16. Eric Dickerson 17. Eric Metcalf 18. Kevin Mack 19. Greg Pruitt 20. Mike Pruitt (Coming soon to the top 10, Nick Chubb) Surely I missed a few, and in all honesty, I might have even started to get a little biased toward the end.
Gross... I've always thought VV to be a class act. Can't say the same for all posters. Thanks Dawg.........with NO Playdough or NO Shit it is really nice to see the Cleveland Browns back in the conversation. But of course been a Football Site there are a LOT of posters who take things right out of context and Love to throw Gasoline on a Fire...........some Posters are worse than others.......it's the way it is and who gives a Rats Ass. Good Luck in 2021 for the Browns Dawg.
but it's still probably safe to assume Cleveland Browns #32 is the best. YES.........he was the Best..........and I believe the Only NFL Player to win Rookie of the Year and MVP.....1957.
I concur. That's right about his wheelhouse...I drafted Chubb to my main team each of the last two seasons. Both times I managed to get him with a fairly late first round pick. Our draft is Sunday, and I'm hoping I can get him again. We draw draft order on draft day. I'm reasonably certain that I'll need a pick within the top 6 or 7 to have a shot at him this year. Keeping fingers crossed....
I don’t think anyone not smoking crack would put those last four on there. You forgot Fast Willie Parker.
Did you see the RBs at the bottom of his list? I had Greg Pruit rookie card and some other seasons of his and the stats on those cards sucked.
