I thought we were over the cap by like 21 mill, so I guess it might help a little. So will the %.2 mill the Steelers now save with the retirement of Vance McDonald. Thank you Vance, you'll always be remembered for the massive straight arm you gave Chris Conte in the TB game, always thought he was underutilized but he couldn't stay healthy either. Hardly used him at all as a pass catcher this year, and that's a problem when you have a guy like Ebron on the team who isn't a all around player. Vance becomes just a blocking TE.
I’m torn about Ben. I know keeping him will gut the team bad, but if he retired we would be able to keep a solid team around Rudolph and at least keep Tomlin’s non losing season streak alive. I don’t know what the future holds for Steelers but I was just thinking that if Brady managed to win a SB who is the real one most responsible for the 6 in NE? If he does win it I say don’t make him wait five years just put him in the HOF as soon as he announced it. And I don’t like Brady at all, just think that he would have to be considered the best player to ever put on a uniform in the NFL. Sorry but championships are what this game is about and no one will ever touch 7 SB victories. I was glad that no team could beat the Steelers to seven this season but then realized Brady could be the first to win seven.
I know Bill keeps getting knocked for the pats this season but had it been up to Bill the transer at QB would have happened before this year and he would have had Garappolo in place. Sure he has been hurt in SF but maybe because they dont put him in the same situation in NE hes not on the sideline as much. Im not much of a Bill guy but i do think hes better than what the pats were this season.
I think this is shaping up to be another excellent draft. Najee looks like a monster. Freirmuth has been impressing. Kendrick Green is already a presumed starter as a 3rd round pick. If that was it for this draft it would be impressive. Then you look at guys like Dan Moore, who looks like he's being groomed now to be the swing Tackle and potentially a future starter. Buddy Johnson and Quincy Roche have both shown well in the preseason. Tre Norwood appears to be the primary backup to Minkah already. Loudermilk will likely need a year to get a bit stronger, but all reports are he looks the part. Then the Punter!! What a Punter!! haha Really seems like they have hit on ever pick again. Not all of them will be stars of course, or even future starters, but they all seem to be NFL quality players with at least a decent career ahead of them.
