It's pretty much the definition of taunting. I don't have an issue with it at all. But it is taunting.
I know it’s taunting. But I don’t consider it anything worthwhile a penalty. When JuJu knocked out Burfict and stood over him celebrating that was tainting.
NFL makes initiating contact with the helmet a point of emphasis for officials The NFL is once again reminding players, coaches and officials that lowering the helmet to initiate contact is a penalty that referees won’t hesitate to call this season. In a video distributed by the league on Tuesday, lowering the helmet was singled out as one of the penalties that officials will be keeping an eye out for. “A continued point of emphasis for the 2021 season is the use of helmet foul,” the video said. “It is a foul if a player lowers his head to initiate and make contact with an opponent. The penalty is 15 yards and the player could be disqualified. Even if not called on the field, such actions could warrant further review and discipline by the league.” Although the rules on lowering the helmet are unchanged for 2021, when the league makes a foul a point of emphasis, that usually means the league felt that too many players were breaking the rule in 2020. Don’t be surprised if officials throw more flags for lowering the helmet and initiating contact in 2021. PFT _________ __________________ I think Ive heard this before...
Yes, but when it may have decided the outcome of a Divisional Playoff game.. It gets emphasized again. Maybe for real this time.
Aren't they supposed to keep an eye out for all penalties though? I hate when we hear reports that they are targeting a specific rule. It means at some point a game is gonna be altered by a bad call or non-call.
The Colts have been cursed in recent years when it comes to the quarterback position. They’ve been blessed to have a high degree of competence and stability at key off-field positions. The team has given contract extensions to G.M. Chris Ballard and coach Frank Reich, effective through the 2026 season. Both are under contract for five more seasons.
Seahawks are releasing Aldon Smith Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said early in training camp that Aldon Smith would “get everything we’ve got, every step of the way” after an offseason arrest, but any future support he gets from the team is going to come from a distance. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are releasing Smith. The edge rusher signed with the team as a free agent this offseason. Suspensions for substance abuse and off-field indiscretions had kept Smith had been out of the NFL since 2015 before he joined the Cowboys last year. He appeared in all 16 games for Dallas and recorded five sacks, which was enough for the Seahawks to bring him onboard with the hope of an improved pass rush. It’s not clear if Wednesday’s move is due to Smith’s April arrest for battery, on-field reasons or some other reason, but something caused the Seahawks to shift gears and move on without him. PFT
Really ???? They sucked so bad that they were in a position to draft Peyton Manning. And when he decided to explore greener pastures, they sucked enough to draft Andrew Luck !!! How many playoff appearances did those two guys bring in? Lots of teams would like to be cursed like that.
49ers sign Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Veteran defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is getting another shot in the NFL. Clinton-Dix is signing with the 49ers today, his agents announced. The 28-year-old Clinton-Dix was a first-round draft pick of the Packers in 2014 and has also played in Washington and Chicago. He signed with the Cowboys last year and got $2.25 million guaranteed but was surprisingly cut just before the start of the season and didn’t play at all in 2020. Now he’ll go to San Francisco and see if he can get his career back on track. PFT
Some people don't understand what "bad luck concerning the QB position" is. Some of our bad luck was self inflicted.. but. I can kind of see where they are coming from. They draft Luck and 5 years into his career, he gets his first injury.. & 7 years into his career, he is retired. Not because he was a bust and not what he was hyped up to be, but because of injuries. They trade for Philip Rivers. After one season HE decides to retire They trade for Carson Wentz. Though he has struggled recently, they had high hopes that a change of scenery would help him get back his form.. Then he has to have foot surgery stating that it could take up to 12 weeks to heal. The tide seems to be turning already though as he might be ready for opening week now. I could sympathize if it were true.. but I'm with you, a few years of dealing with "QB issues" isn't a string of bad luck. They need to study the last 20 years of Cleveland's history...
Your front office being stupid is not bad luck with QBs. Its bad luck with management. Stupid decisions to trade back don’t equal bad luck. How many stud QBs have the Browns passed over when they royally sucked and had their pick of them? The QBs that the Browns passed on are some of the best to play the last 20 years
The Bears have literally never had a legit QB and have been around over 100 years. So fuck all of you.
The Bears have literally never had a legit QB and have been around over 100 years. So fuck all of you. What about Jim McMahon.......he was a Bear for 7 years and had OK numbers.....Got you the Super Bowl in 85.
Yeah, Cleveland fans have a lot to whine about re: the team's past, but we've established on these forums pretty clearly that they haven't had the worst go at QB. That's definitely Chicago's brand, unfortunately.
i just thought it was a shitty take calling the Colts "cursed" after the QB's they did have after a couple of bad seasons.
