Just want clarification on the 1 year of eligibility portion please? Hypothetically I sign Peyton Manning to 3 years, his shoulder comes apart week 2, I put him on year long IR to save cap space, but his 3 years remaining under contract becomes 1 year?

This read funny to me the first time, but on second read I'll simply help to clarify. So the amount of points scored by player A in 2022 and 2023 isn't how the increase is calculated, it's the percentage greater that his points scored equals. So
Player A: 2022 = 150 points 2023 = 200 points

Player B: 2022 = 60 points 2023 = 100 points

So because 200/150 = 33% improvement, whereas 100/60 = 67% improvement, in this scenario it's player B that forces a renegotiation, correct?

 

Basically, after everyone has entered the league, I click on 'reset draft order' 5 times so that the order and the way we set for divisions is completely random and set by FF.

If you have him on 3 years and he is on his second year when you IR him for the full season, he would still have those 2 remaining seasons. Meaning, he wouldn't lose all of year two's eligibility to be on your franchise.

In other words - IR'ing a player for a full season due to an IR designation in the NFL would give the owner the opportunity to not lose that player for a full year of their contract. Since we are working within tightened windows (shorter deals), it helps to insulate an owner from a catastrophic injury to a highly paid player.

What if more than 12 people are comfortable committing? Pure curiosity, doesn’t matter.

The way I have things set up, yes.

 

I would consider 16 teams.

My worry would be that anything more than 12 teams might get the talent pool thin pretty quickly.

Also, now that I have things built on the spreadsheets to handle the details I wouldn't be against starting more than one league.
