    I think our FO has a good idea of the 53 man roster that we take into battle this season. I guess there is always a surprise or two, though it's a safe bet that this guy will make the cut;

lol! Damn! Not sure how much weight that is to make the bar bow like that, but I think with the added retention straps that makes it pretty impressive....

Browns getting a lot of hype, that’s the by product I don’t like. I hope these guys realize they haven’t won anything yet. It’s Super Bowl or bust at this point.

Browns only team with two games on that list...

Yep. Comes with success. I think we've got the right coach to handle the hype train.

The Browns are hungry, they are ascending, and they are not happy about how last season ended. We aren't that far removed from the misery of 1-31. I'm not worried about Cleveland losing focus, or getting caught up in their own headlines. This organization has the F/O, roster and staff in place to make a serious title run. Expectations should be high coming off the season and off-season like the Browns just had....

Blue plates are 45. Green plates are 25. Bands are tough to say but guessing around 50 pounds of resistance, per. And the bar, of course, is another 45.

You're looking at 590 in weight, less resistance. As much as maybe 690 at the top of that lift?

Rack pulls and ripping the helmets of off racist quarterbacks have a similar motion, so I get what he's going for here.

Some guys need the the tight T-shirt to show off how hard they have been working out...

Their (PFF.com's) numbers aren't that far off from reality. From Pro-Football-Reference, 2020 numbers:
    • Average depth of target: 14.1
    • Yards before catch per reception: 14.1
    • Drops: 0
    • First Downs (% of targets): 50.0%
    • Passer rating when targeted: 119.0
Higgins was targeted 52 times last season in Cleveland's offense. Among wide receivers with 50+ many targets...
    • ADOT: 9th
    • YBC/R: 1st
    • Drops: t-1st
    • FD%: t-4th
    • QB Rating: 11th
In most of those categories, he's behind guys like Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Tyler Locket. Guys who're either elite wide receivers (Top 3) or played with elite quarterbacks (Top 3).

It really has been an impressive offseason for the Browns FO. Clearly the thing holding Cleveland back in 2020 was the defense, so I don't think it comes as a surprise that the team focused on addressing the defense throughout the offseason. There were several games the Browns should have won by 30 last year, but far too often the scores got much too close for comfort, because the defense just couldn't stop anyone. As great as the playoff W in Pittsburgh was, the Steelers still cranked out about 600 yards of offense on us, and made that game way closer than it ever should have been. Same with the games in Tennessee and Dallas. All should have been CLE blowouts, but ended much tighter. So I loved to see Andrew Berry aggressively address our defensive needs in free agency and the draft in 2021. Every level of the defense will have upgrades this season.

Key losses: IDL: Larry Ogunjobi, Sheldon Richardson:

Key additions for the 2021 Browns D:

    EDGE: Jadeveon Clowney, Takk McKinley

IDL: Andrew Billings (opted out Covid last season), Malik Jackson, Tommy Togiai, Malik McDowell, Marvin Wilson

    MLB: Anthony Walker, Tony Fields

WLB: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa, Jacob Phillips (missed most of 2020 season)

    SS: John Johnson III

FS: Grant Delpit (return from injury), Richard LaCounte

CB: Greg Newsome, Greedy Williams (return from injury)

    NB: Troy Hill

Getting Greedy and Delpit back from injury almost feels like we got two more high draft picks added to this class...

The rebuild looks well planned out. It should be much more difficult to score on Cleveland in 21. The Browns defense is gonna have a whole new look and a lot more bite this season, especially on the back end.

I'd like to see our Browns start the season with a W, I think........... With all the expectations, I'm also concerned a W vs KC might pump a little too much air in the bubble. Anyone else see week one as a "kind of trap", that could create too big of an ego trip, and cause a loss of focus on the need to improve weekly?

Part of me wants to see a close, hard fought loss, to sharpen our sense of "ya gotta earn your way to the top" mentality.

Frankly a "blow out loss" wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. A cold dose of reality, to put a big chill in the inflated expectations. A little pin in the "we're going to the Super Bowl" fantasy, underscoring the need to "make" that happen.

The biggest caution flag IMO is the Offense. Having come back "in tact" makes it easier to feel like "we got this". A dangerous attitude. The D knows they have a lot to prove, but the O, is coming off a season that just kept getting better as the year unfolded, and Baker got his arms around how this O is meant to work. If Baker keeps focussed on getting better, he will push that through the entire O, and we'll be good. I think he will do exactly that, and demand they all keep looking for ways to improve.

I don't believe Odell will be a Diva, at all this year, and will try to find ways to "be a part" of the Baker O. Given the leaps Baker made in his absence, and the questions about his performance, Odell will be a good soldier, and he too can help everyone stay positive, and stay focused on the prize.

It's so exciting to come into a season with the flat belief we will be a team that others measure themselves against.

An advantage we have that others will not: we play Lamar and the birds twice, and Mahomes once. Why is that an advantage?

I believe these two QBs represent the most challenging QBs in the league, as far as unique skill sets. Our D will get 3 opptys to figure out how to best defend against who are exceptonally mobile. You can throw Buffalo's Josh Allen in there too, but IMO if we can corral Lamar and Mahomes, we will not fear a Josh Allen.

With three contests to test our ability to handle these elite QBs, we will be tested and ready when the post season rolls around.

For me, it's ALL about Ws. I can't worry about let down or big heads, a true Super Bowl contender won't let something like that happen. If they aren't a true Super Bowl contender, well, we need to find that out sooner than later also. I think we have the right management in place to keep them focused on the prize, which means avoiding what you are talking about. It will be a real disappointment if we don't have the right staff in place. I have never felt better about a front office and HC working together than I do right now. If this isn't the combination, then I might give up worrying about any future tries until they are actually relevant. I've seen dysfunction, I've seen incompetent, I've seen malcontent, I've seen just about every negative side effect of either a bad front office, a bad coaching staff or both.

I don't see any signs of distress in the current regime.. However, it's only been one year.

Though that year included a pandemic, new coaching staff, fairly high roster turnover and.. oh yeah, the first playoff game since 2002 and he first playoff win since 1994 and the first time we have beat the Steelers twice in the same year since 1988, first time in 3 tries to beat the Steelers in the playoffs. We are currently on a 2 game winning streak against those Steelers, the longest win streak since 1986-1988 when they had a 6 game win streak against the Yinzers.

I am feeling pretty good abouot the season, but more importantly, I am feeling good about this team and organization.

I have had enough reality to last a lifetime, it's I want to see a W every week and see the adversity wins in the form of comebacks in games. It is easy to find growth in a team in how they handle in game situations, that is where I want to see them shine.

They aren't going 20-0, I don't believe in this day and age any team is going to go undefeated, but what I do want to see is a dominanant season. I would like to see them vying for that bye week, to be the #1 seed in the AFC. If they get to 13-4 or 14-3, that's what I want to see.. then they can go undefeated in the playoffs!!

    Seriously? No way!

So basically, you want a replay of last year, when we got our ass handed to us in week one? Why?

Why do the Browns need a "cold dose of reality"? Maybe the rest of the NFL needs a "cold dose" of what Kevin Stefanski and Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are.

It’s been about 15 hours since I found out about the name change.

Immediate reaction, “what????” Didn’t like it..

After realizing it’s being tied in from the traffic guardians on Hope Memorial Bridge that I have driven past I don’t know how many times (but didn’t know they were called the traffic guardians), it’s already starting to grow on me. If they tie in the symbol, it will probably get better yet.

I feel about the same as you do, Irish. About the only thing that came to mind is my Indians jersey and what a cheap owner Dolans really is. It just popped into my mind that my jersey has the "In" on one flap and the "dians" on the other flap and that they could just rip the "In" off and stitch on a "Guar" to keep from having to toss out old stock if they can't sell them all. I had about 6 other names I would have preferred but in time The Guardians will grow on me.

As I was saying, clip off the In and add a Guar.
