Took my daughter out for some ice cream and stopped by a spot to relax. Ended up watching a porcupine climb a tree for 20 minutes. Then we took a back rode home and came across a black bear and two cubs. Pretty awesome evening, all in all.
I live in Kentucky and don't see that kind of crap. Did see about 8 to 10 deer in a group come through the neighborhood 1 night.
It's the first bear that we've seen in about 4 years (that wasn't a road kill) but it was probably close to 600 pounds and they looked very healthy. Porcupines, fisher, fox, turkeys and coyotes are all regulars through my yard and along our road so I don't have to go very far to see them.
Plenty of skunks, oppossums, raccoons and deer here. Not through the yard as much as some roads close to my house. Did see a coyote in tje middle of the city one night as I got off from work at my old job. Mind you when I say city its a small one.
I've seen them all where I am but fishers and porcupines are pretty rare in Southern Ontario until you reach the Canadian Shield region where it's mostly coniferous. Forests here are mixed or deciduous. It's funny when I once saw a turkey loose in the city harassing an old lady at a bus stop or sometimes coyotes or cougars on the streets and it's a big surprise considering I live in the city. Sometimes deer will cross the road in front of the bus just before entering the university campus and their only nature route there is a small stream and forested area that is like 20 feet wide. They'll eat some lawns sometimes. And Hamilton is a relatively big city of about 600,000.
We started seeing some bobcat around and the DNC says they’re making a big comeback. Between them, the coyotes, fisher and fox, the rabbits are starting to get pretty damn scarce.
My appologies for holding things up... ran into some health issues. Im trying to make a pick as fast as possible.
