1st pick doesn't need much explanation. Took a stud WR and I think Smith fits better than Waddle would.
In the 2nd I wanted to get really real life Eagles with the pick and I don't mean weird selections but with taking a DE when there seems to be great value at the spot even though the position isn't a major need. Rousseau doesn't need to start right away but he can quickly become the 3rd DE in the rotation. A season of coaching and training and he could show why many consider him a 1st round selection.

I traded up for Jackson Carman because the Eagles could use more OL depth and someone to push Dillard if he isn't up to snuff after returning from injury. Also who knows when Lane Johnson retires or gets another PED violation. Carman was my pick if I didn't take Rousseau earlier and as soon as I was able to get a deal worked out I made the move to grab him.

Eagles needs DB depth and guys to push for starting roles in a year. So I took Rodarius Williams and Caden Sterns. I felt lucky to get Sterns that late, so much so that I almost forgot about him until I did a last second check of the board.

Stevens can hopefully be what Nate Gerry wasn't, a converted Safety to play LB and in the slot for coverage.

Trey Hill is my favourite developmental lineman in the draft and who knows when Kelce is done. Even if he doesn't take over depth will be needed.

And finally John Bates was who I almost took when I took Sterns. I think he brings the most well rounded and proven game of all the TEs not drafted early. I did like some other TEs drafted in the 6th and 7th but I had them at least a tier below Bates and needing more development, like priority UDFAs.

So, another draft where I wanted to draft like the team might, in spirit, and I think I did that. Normally I'd probably pass on Rousseau there, for instance.

Random prediction...Browns VS. Chiefs gets the Thursday night opener.

 

I did mention it once before, but it's worth noting in regards to the Saints draft too. Atlanta's new GM Terry Fontenot is a protege and best friend of Saints GM Mickey Loomis. So the idea that the two teams might make a big trade with each other isn't far-fetched. New Orleans could use a new franchise quarterback. Atlanta would do well to trade down. From what I know of them so far (which admittedly isn't much) neither seems like the type who would pass up a trade that helps the organization just because the trade partner is a division rival.

This draft really boils down to Lance. If he makes it, this is a killer draft for New Orleans. If he flops, the Saints will have hurt their next two drafts and will still need a quarterback.

It doesn't always work though, as all Browns fans know all too well. And the big trade down doesn't necessarily yield treasure either.

Well I was a bit lazy during recruiting.
But I definitely like how I played it this year. Booked two weeks of holidays for this and the draft. About as relaxed as I’ve felt in months.

 

Ya I basically did all the recruiting minus some last minute invites Tim found. But after that I did like 10 names on the board lol.
