I'm a little surprised he lasted this long, given the number of OTs that went in the earlier rounds. The story from the war room is that the real team gave RFA Matt Gono a legit tender, which I didn't expect given their cap situation but was very happy to see. I expect Gono to step into the starting lineup this year, probably replacing James Carpenter at LG. So... I will need a new swing tackle / developmental tackle prospect. Position now filled.
I know you were just messing with me and I'm just messing with you. I work 12 hour days and smoke weed all day and I'm still on time.
You should live here in Washington and get a job testing weed out so that you can give a professional opinion on the quality
Yeboah was pretty high on my target list for the GMO mock. My take is he's a year away, which is true of everybody after Hunter Long. With the developmental guys, this year's class comes down to skill set. If you're wanting a traditional, old school in-line blocker, Yeboah would NOT be your target. But if you're specifically looking for a "move" / wing back type, there's no doubt that he's the one you want.
That, by the way, was another factor in the strategy of trading down. #4 is expensive. Dropping all the way down to 2(8) added a few million in available cap space. Nowhere near enough to think about Teddy B. as the #2 quarterback, but enough to sign an off the street free agent or two at the roster cut deadline.
For the GMO, we had to. For this, we don't. But some of us do this as a role-playing thing and factor in that kind of stuff. In my case, I would absolutely LOVE to have Teddy B. backing up Matt Ryan while a draft prospect gets practice time as the #3. But there's absolutely no way that the Falcons could free up enough cap space to do it. It would be completely unrealistic, so from a role-playing perspective, I'm treating him as off-limits for me.
Makes sense. I think his 2021 cap hit is 12.9 million to whichever team he gets traded to. I feel like cutting an over paid guy could be an easier solution specifically towards the Falcons and Texans as they don’t have the high draft picks (in this draft) who are spotted to get a bigger rookie deal.
