Not a smart ass question; just need to know. When do we start selecting Undrafted players? Will we follow the same order as the 1st round, (but without any trades)?
Say it ain't so Lyman. I doubt even TopDawg is actually happy about that. He just likes to vent when shit isn't going his way. Feel free to reconsider come Jan-Feb next year.
I didn't sign a single guy for the Eagles but that seemed fair considering the cap situation and I don't think I ever officially restructured the contracts I was gonna because the real life restructuring messed with the way we are supposed to do it. So I just drafted and cut the obvious guys that were cut irl. Panthers just signed a WR and hoping Watson and the draft would cause a wave of success. Well if he can play sure, if not then this draft better be good because it's a minor rebuild. As for the 49ers I was trying to get them ready to get back in contention with Jimmy G. Got Trent back and drafted for the present more than anything but still took Mond and a few developmental guys. For not really being able to participate in FA I think I did a good job of having competent teams for opening day and going forward.
The most important thing that I think many of us did in this exercise was overcome some nasty cap situations and get our teams back on track. 12 teams started out in the red, and 6 were over by more than $20 million. In that sense, no matter what anyone thinks of the final rosters of teams like the Saints, Chiefs, Eagles, Rams or Steelers, it's a major accomplishment just to get those teams back on track financially and rebuild the rosters without mortgaging the future.

A little parting shot . lol! Thank you....FTR, your GMO retirement doesn't make me happy in any way. I appreciate all the efforts you put in and for the most part, I'm quite happy with the way you keep the draft moving. Sometimes I do feel like you are the principle and I'm in 9th grade detention, but whatever. RT is just blowing wind, I won't deny I've had moments in these drafts that I'm not proud of, but not in this one. I still feel completely legit on the two little misunderstandings or dust-ups that we had in this draft, but it's over with and I've moved on. My argument was all documented on this thread.....One instance I absolutely was getting nitpicked to death on ridiculous technicalities that were exasperated because of mutual frustrations over the long wait, and the other I was simply trying to clarify a pick. Same exact scenario that RT had earlier today with the post-lock trade. His question though, I noticed went much smoother, and didn't invoke bold printed warning/dissertation on studying and knowing all your picks.... Anyway, I hope you don't retire from the mocks. The more people we have that are passionate about football and taking these events seriously, the better.
Yup. And TopDawg’s passion is worth celebrating too . As for me, I hope you’ll feel refreshed, Lyman, and eager to jump back in a year from now. Regardless, thank you very much. You make a very hard job look easy.
We will start sometime either later tonight or tomorrow. Picks will be 15 minutes each. The order will be randomized via random.org or something similar, then inverted for round 2 or our second signings. I'm just waiting to hear back from @Tim and @Willie on when to start. Then I'll update the board and put a big post in here.
Thanks for the cheerleader's Lyman........too bad they were not Real. And Thanks for all your hard work with Truth and yourself......it sucks you don't get paid. Now I have to start packing and moving.........Jezz not looking forward too this. ..........................\+/ \+/ \+/.......Beers all around eh.....................
UDFA ROUNDS Will start tomorrow at 11am EST. I think we will go back to a past format. As follows: First come, first served. At 11am ET you may announce one signing for every team you control. If by chance say LAOJoe and myself both bid on Player A, whoever's post shows up first in the thread will have signed that player. The second team will have to move on to their next option. Round 2, or your second UDFA signing, will take place in the same free-for-all format at Noon ET. If you're late, no biggie. Just review who is no longer an option in the previous signings and you may announce yours at any point. Sound good to everybody??
Just to be clear; we post our pick starting at 11 am? Then at noon ET we can post our 2nd Undrafted pick?
