I need to find the video of that play just to see how that guy got fucked up. Surely a stiff-arm but how nasty was it?
A lot of times I hear people saying the opt outs will hurt. I’m not convinced this is true. It might be a case by case basis, but team execs aren’t even allowed in their own buildings. And these are all kids having to make these decisions. I don’t believe the GMs are going to hurt most kids grades over this. It was a pretty fluid situation when they all had to make that call. Now for the guys who really could have used more development, quite possible a player or two jumps them in the rankings over this. That’s just experience, same as players not getting to start until their last season.
Bills have a funny anecdote: Buffalo had come with an agreement on a trade that would have put them one spot above BAL. I wanted to get in front of Lyman because he's been sniping me RIGHT, LEFT, AND CENTER. Well, there was some "liveliness" associated with that draft spot, ad in the end I decided to sit tight and hope for the best. So what happened? Fuckin' TopDawg snipes me with the very pick I could have had if I just said "yes".
So I found it and it wasn't as the picture shows. Just the perfect photo. Guy went low and he got pushed down and his helmet kicked off. The arm out was for balance. Paused right on the frame, I think. Might have to rewind a second. I did notice though that his non-TD at 2:48 was pretty impressive. He's a little short but he made a great effort getting around the defender, catching it one-handed and almost getting the foot down.
There is also the one where a team trades back a few spots thinking they'll still get their guy but the team trading with them takes him.
