Eagles 1(6) DeVonta Smith, WR - Alabama 2(5) Greg Newsome, CB - Northwestern 3(6) Levi Onwuzurike, DT - Washington 3(30) Rashad Weaver, DE - Pittsburgh 4(13) Trey Hill, OL - Georgia 4(29) Caden Sterns, DB - Texas 4(34) Ambry Thomas, CB - Michigan 4(35) Brady Christensen, OT - BYU 6(5) 6(40) 6(41)
Rumour was floating around that the Eagles tried to trade up to #3 for Zach Wilson but either decided to trade back and get the 1st instead of giving something up to trade up or found out the Jets are either taking him or undecided.
There's nothing to be gained by the Jets leaking they're taking Wilson, unless they are trying to up the price on the #2. I can't see how that information being made public could possibly help drive a higher market on Sam.
Could be they have 3 options they like at the 6, expecting to see 3 quarterbacks go ahead of them. Could be looking at the top 3 receivers as equal value.
Bloody hell... one more flurry and I'll be up. Time to check the lists and see what's left of my board...
Agreed. I think the eagles, if they were looking at Wilson, took the safer, probably smarter route of getting assets and seeing what they have in Hurts.
Just wanted to point out, for better or worse, and much like their division rival Rams, I love the "All-in" commitment from SF, in believing they're one piece away from being a Superbowl threat. It might not work out, but no better way to convince your players you have a chance than to put your job on the line in belief of it
3(14) + 4(13) + 6(14) + 6(21) = 4(5) + 5(6) + 5(28) + 5(37) + 6(10) + 7(12) + Zach Ertz + Mack Wilson 4(5) Used on TE Kylen Granson who you many might think is a waste but I'm good with it. He's why I traded down so many times before taking him. To keep it simple though I'm gonna cancel out the 4ths, 6ths and 7th. 3(14) = 5(6) + 5(28) + 5(37) + Zach Ertz + Mack Wilson
If the Eagles really want a QB next year and suck they'll have 3 first round picks and at least 1 should be pretty high.
I think they go offensive line early in this one for the exact reason you just posted. It helps Hurts in the immediate, and if Jalen doesn't work out they have already started laying the foundation for protecting the guy that would be drafted in 2022.
