There is this guy that says he was a 49er but he's got a gold tooth and likes panning streams and using metal detectors on beaches. Close enough. His guess will be as good as any.
My take is the Niners have a clear preference of one or the other of Fields or Lance, never wanted Darnold, know the Jets want Wilson at 2 and making this move now guarantees they get their guy at 3.
Im always confused and this situation (blockbuster trade) is no different. Can the word, 'collusion' be used here in this case and if so, can the NFL or other teams bitch a bitch or is this all just business as usual in the NFL with the GM's?
I think you would need some direct line to prove collusion, but it shouldn't be too surprising if certain people in certain circles share certain information.
It's perfectly fine to share info but most teams won't unless they are building a rapport. Now if it's found out they fake traded to keep contract money down then there could be an issue but even then it's iffy. For instance if SF makes a deal for #2 but never actually trades for it and the Jets agree to not take their guy. If that is found out there could be consequences.
Miami getting the Eagles involved means they really liked it if they could get in that 5-7 range again.
Admittedly, not my best work, but if we held you to the same standard this forum would hold a weekly firing squad and you’d develop a pack a day habit burning all those heaters with your Eagles blindfold on.
I haven't been on enough lately to throw too many horrible puns, and reading between the lines, to be fair I've worn that blindfold lately to not see the dumpster fire and not because I've been denying it.
