The fact we haven't tendered an offer to Terrance Mitchell yet makes me ecstatic. He was the #2 liability (behind only Sendejo) on defense last year.
He's an unrestricted free agent, but I disagree with that take completely anyway....No love for "Money Mitch"?? Terrance Mitchell = solid NFL CB
Especially after reading stuff like this: Keep an eye on the CB and LB market because if we don't sign starters in free agency, we're drafting them in the first three rounds.
I want Greedy Williams to be a success and a great comeback story, but if the season starts today, we're lining up Denzel Ward, M.J. Stewart Jr., and Robert Jackson. Even if Greedy were 90% now and pretty much on track to start the season without incident, I'd add two or three guys to that position group.
The bands getting back together. Happy to see these two staying, but we still need one more impact signing. As @SAS eluded, a new CB would be nice, though the draft seems pretty deep at the position. I’m not sure an edge player is left in free agency that would really elevate the defense. Could be a draft day one pick, with CB coming day 2. Two positions that seem to be pretty deep in this years draft. We could probably address both and come away with those impact players. Who knows, we might see that other impact free agent at CB and still address it early in the draft.
What about Justin Houston? Does he have anything left in the tank? I’m thinking Kevin King or Troy Hill at CB. we also new to fill Ogunjobi’s spot, don’t forget.
Yep. Facing the same dilemma in the GMO, I went with, Jurrell Casey. That would actually be an upgrade IMO. Other F/A's I considered were Sheldon Rankins and Johnathan Hankins....
Rankins & Hankins? Far out... I agree, filling Ogunjobi's spot is a must do. Got to be able to stop the run. I was going to comment on that earlier, but Irish beat me to it.
Don't forget we did sign Andrew Billings from Cincinnati last year, but he opted out because of Covid concerns....That said, I'd still like to see us address the position at some point. Ogunjobi is a loss, and he was very tight with Myles Garrett. Was really hoping we could retain him.
I know he's got some age on him, but he still seems to be playing at a high level, what about Ndamukong Suh? The Bucs don't get to resign ALL their free agents, do they?
Not a world-beater, but our best LB from 2020 for sure. Good to not make unnecessary holes in the defense.
