You also have a winning bid on LB Jayon Brown ($3.5M)....Top bid (Patriots $5.5M) was rescinded yesterday and we've passed 12 hour window.
Texans officially sign: WR Sammy Watkins $1,050,000 Vet Min WR Keelan Cole $910,000 Vet Min TE Ross Dwelley $825,000
Thanks for sticking up for me Lyman lol I wasn't around much this weekend and just checking back in now to see what the heck happened. I'll get all my guys officially signed here.
The New York Giants have signed: Gerald Everett, TE $2,500,000 Nelson Agholor, WR $2,000,000 DaQuan Jones, NT $1,075,000 Daryl Williams, OT $1,000,000 Michael Davis, CB $1,000,000
Hey @Lyman -- I bid on DaQuan Jones before the vet min signing period opened but the winning bid was at the vet minimum. Do I get the benefit of the min signing or nah?
I wasn’t trying to f’ck with you, x-k. I just wanted to retain D. Williams like the real Bills. I wasn’t real clear on the rules (that’s my fault).
Oh I didn't think you were Dan. Honestly no way in hell should I have gotten Williams under contract that cheaply so I totally get where you are coming from on that.
Yeah this year there were definitely bargains to be had. I got Sammy Watkins for the vet min, Troy Hill for $3, and in a world where Michael Thomas got $20 AAV two years ago, something tells me that getting Chris Godwin for $15.5 would prove to be quite the bargain.
Yeah, I felt like I really got away with something when they were in a bidding war on Judon and I slipped away with Shaq Barrett at $14M. That's not happening! lol! There were definitely bargains to be had, and there still are... Wish we had 32 GM's, but it's still fun doing this as we get ready for the real deal. Should be some major activity in the league this week.
Yeah I think when you have more individual GM's you get higher competition for services. I remember a few years back we were actually pretty close to what players ended up signing for on a lot of the high end free agents. Wave 2 and 3 of free agency there are always steals to be had vs. what guys actually get paid but the big ticket guys I feel like were a bargain this year as well. Some of it might have been the reduced cap and how we have to sign guys based on APY and not backloaded deals... but it just feels like we were shopping at Filenes basement right from the start.
