Just another perspective I find interesting; the more I’ve read about his value on ProFootballFocus the more amused I am by where he will end up (know that now) and how he will perform. PFF’s stance on him is essentially that he’s the most hit-or-miss off ball backer in the league. They believe every time he gets on the field he’s either the best player out there or one of the worst. They see almost no happy medium. I just enjoy that stance. Great in coverage, horrible at tackling. Or great at both one season. More miss than hit the next. It’s possible I’m mixing up grades from numerous sources. But either way it’s fun to see wildly different takes on the same guy
Patriots extend veteran minimum benefit bids on: K Nick Folk $1,075,000 S Cody Davis $990,000 DE Shilique Calhoun $990,000 CB Justin Bethel $1,075,000 RB Rex Burkhead $1,075,000 LB Dylan Cole $990,000 C Daniel Kilgore $1,075,000 WR Byron Pringle $990,000 OL Jermaine Eluemunor $990,000 LB Brandon Copeland $1,075,000 No previous bids on any of the above (that I saw, at least)
I'm doing the best I can, Guys. There is a 12-hr rule in place that really complicates this part of the GMO. I fucked it up.
In that case, I’ll trust the Bills FO opinion over others. This was a great signing - as a logical conclusion. The continuity is probably a good thing. And, it removes a position of need off the team’s to-do list. (The Bills have a BAP from Position of Need philosophy for the draft.)
That said . . . I re-set the bid clock on Jaylon Brown to 3/12/2021 11:20AM (one day prior to the date stamp from when Underdog rescinded his bid.)
You got me thinking about it again. I don’t think there’s even one team in the league that can truly claim they go BPA throughout the draft. Everybody has to fill needs. There might be a few teams who can claim they go true BPA in maybe the second or third round more often than not. But if you go back say three years and look at every teams picks, I doubt you can find one that you can argue is true BPA from front back.
Apologies. Mistakes happen. Especially when trying to run multiple franchises. Not that big of a deal, my bid wasn't even over his anyway.
Houston went on a bit of an RB tear bidding on four different guys after Tim took me beyond the ceiling with Gus Edwards.
Last year I sorted the "Signed" page by team so Ya'll could find your won bids easier and continued that this year. If you want - I can sort the "Signed" page by Position to make it easier to find prior bids. Let me know what you all want me to do.
WOW! I didn't notice that there was a "signed" page, until you just mentioned it. lol! That will help considerably....
Just so you all are aware. When a bid (or signing) is posted . . . Things I do: Enter a new line in the "Active" sheet. Assume the player is a UFA (unless I know he's a SFA). Do a quick internet search to determine the player's 2020 team (if you don't include it in your post). Enter the date and time of the bid post (using my wrist watch if the actual post's date stamp isn't yet actual). Sort the "Active" sheet by player position. If signed: Move the player's row to the "Signed" sheet & Delete that row from the "Active" sheet. Close (Save) the Goggle file and then re-open it. (Helps to keep the embedded sheet up to date.) Things I don't do. Check for prior bids. That's your job. Check to ensure the bid amount meets the standing rule(s). That's your job . Sign players when the 48 hour bid clock expires. That's your job
Geez...What about prematurely signing players before 48 hour period? Who's job is that ? My point is, people can make a mistake Take it easy Lym...All efforts are much appreciated.
