Like to think of myself as one of the most optimistic Browns fans and even I don't have them going 18-0. Thanks, @beachbum, very cool!!
I guess we were both wrong, @gidion72. He doesn't want a Chip (Cleveland) and he doesn't want vet minimum (Pittsburgh). He just wants to get paid ($31 million, $23 million guaranteed on a 2-year deal) and retire somewhere warm.
Kinda what I thought from the beginning...Aging, declining and overpriced. Let him go suck a few paychecks out of the Cardinals franchise. Worked for Emmitt. Not a loss for the Browns.
I don’t really get this one, He was set to make $17.5M on the last year of his deal. He probably could have gotten similar money playing it out and hitting free agency in 2022. I’m not sure the Cards are SB contenders, but they are definitely better than the Texans. I think that’s what it was all about. Max money on a playoff contender. Texans are a dumpster fire at the moment.
Because he got comfortable in the system. You know, the system he wasn't allowed to meet on, practice in, or have a proper training camp and preseason with? By the time they finally got enough reps in, Baker was a Top 5 quarterback. He's going to dominate 2021. #13-3
Glossing over the implied less money here, we'll have to wait another season for Civil War 2.0: Myles vs. Mason!!
Normally, I'd say something like "bring him home"... but even at veteran minimum... do we need an 8th tackle?
With the rate they're disappearing and at the cost they're going for... "With the 26th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Gregory Rousseau. Defensive end, Miami."
That sucks! Tampa turning this league into the NBA.... My next target , since David and Barrett are both off the market, would probably be Hendrickson
Yes, but this could have happened earlier, since he is staying with his current team. I'm waiting for the first actual free agent announcement for a new team.
