You are exactly right. I realised that as the idea evolved in my mind it got further away from the specific scenario of the goal line situation that we were originally discussing. It seems it would be impossible to alter the goal line rule in the way i originally floated without altering the entire dead ball section of the rule book, which is just one more reason why it would never happen. Interesting thought exercise though, for me anyway. But apologies to anyone who feels this has wasted their time, especially bww, who at his age can't really afford it.
I guess initial reports were wrong and the children injured weren’t Reid’s. Also he admitted to driving after having drinks and taking adderall.
Well I'm admittedly quite relieved that the incident shouldn't affect either Reid's focus on the big game. So some guy was driving around with kids in the car after combining alcohol and adderall?? Pretty smooth.
A car had run out of gas on an off ramp, this is the car with two kids in the back seat. A second car had stopped behind this car. Britt was DRIVING after having 2-3 drinks along with prescription Adderal. Britt hit the front of the back car and rear of the original front car that was disabled, the child is 5 years old and fighting for their life. Britt Reid is currently in the hospital with non life threatening injuries, is not traveling to the Super Bowl and will most likely be behind bars early next week when the investigation is concluded. Reid is going to jail, if that poor kid loses his/her life he might never get out.
Wow!! What an idiot! Near the top of the world and some guys just can't keep focused. Well he'll probably deserve whatever happens next.
OK. let me get this straight. He (Reid) bounced off of one parked car and rear ends another with enough force to put a kid in the back seat in the hospital ?? How fast was he going ? What state was this in? Florida ? No matter. In most states, that's a DUI, property damage, causing personal injury. He's not walking away from this with just a fine and some classes. And if that kid dies? A manslaughter charge. Here in California they'd charge him with 3rd degree murder. he's toast.
And besides. How many episodes of "Cops" have we seen where they tell the drunk guy to get out of the car only to watch him do a faceplant into the asphalt and look up at the cop and say, "I only had two or three beers. DO YOUR DAMN DRINKING AT HOME !!!!
Yeah I mean based on my own experiences, stuff I've seen, people I know, if he told the authorities he had 2-3, that means he had at least 4. That's what their tests will have to determine. Either way, just hope for that family's sake the kid pulls through.
Guys this is Not the first time that Britt Reid has been involved in a DUI.......2007 he had a Road Rage incident in Philly while under the influence and spend time behind bars. Lets hope this 5 year old girl pulls through......and put Britt in jail and throw away the keys. What is with Coaches hiring their sons.......it never works out.
Reid was too much into his job that he never had time to be a father. He tried too late to get his kids straight by giving them jobs under him.
He must have had a lot of alcohol, adderall is a stimulant, so you would need a lot of drinks to be wasted enough to wipe out a couple of parked cars.
How don't need much alcohol sometimes to get impaired enough to get lost in your own head. It's not common but it happens.
Ya. I was just mentioning the ones that had to be voted in at the end over others. It's almost a formality that the committee selections get in.
