Why even concern yourself with that? Eagles won the game and that is the only stat that matters. Enjoy it....Brady is Brady. There are people in this world that believe he walks on water. He threw 3 second half int's in the NFC Championship game and it's already forgotten. All I've heard about is how great he is and that he can do no wrong. It is what it is. That's just the way the talk goes when the dude is getting ready to play in his 10th SB, going for his 7th ring.
Kurt Warner mentioned something in the pre-game show last Sunday that I had mentioned here on these threads about 8 years ago. And that is, that even as a young child dreaming of playing in the NFL someday, I dreamed of possibly playing in 5 Super Bowls. Point being, Tom Brady's real life has far exceeded what most kids could even dream up. lol! Hell, FWIW If someone would have told me when I was 25, that a QB would come along in the NFL and do what Brady has done, I would have laughed. I'd never have believed that was even possible.
I actually liked the decision. It was 4th and 8, that takes away a lot of options that would be there if they're down there inside the 5. So not only do you have to score from the 8 then you have to score from the 2. And that's for a tie. Whereas if you kick a FG and then score game is over. Didn't work out.
Im still a bit confused, but leaning towards going for it. Lefleur took the ball out of Rodgers hands and gave the ball back to Brady while leaving them in the same situation... down 8 and needing a defensive stop. Had they got the td and a two-point conversion, we might have OT... even if they miss the 2 pt conversion and then get a defensive stop, a FG would have won the game. Lots of factors and 'time' being a huge factor played a part, but i would have been more aggressive.
I should have mentioned time. Because that was a big factor. When they lined up for the FG I assumed they would then kick the ball through the end zone to assure themselves a stop at the 2:00 warning. That meant even if they gave up 1 first down they could still get the ball back. That was a big reason I liked the call.
p.s. Hadn't heard much about it but I thought the intentional encroachment by the Packers on 2nd and 1 was brilliant. Saved a timeout. Did Arians even consider declining it?
I like the field goal myself. Even as i watched I said if you dont score the TD on third you have to kick thenfield goal because you will need one for the win anyways. Either scenario requires the D to make a stop. It failed and thats why everyone thinks it was the wrong descion. Had they got the stop then scored for a win everyone would be talking about how it was smart to play for the win and not tie and go to OT.
You really liked that move? Sure. Let's just give TB12 the ball and tell him that all he needs is a first down and the Super Bowl is at stake.
Didn’t like it... 10 possessions, 2 punts. That tells me your odds are low that you get the ball back. You are 8 yards away from a chance to tie. Packers were the #1 red zone offense in the entire NFL. They have plays for 4th and 8 in their playbook and Rodgers knows every play inside and out. Taking the ball out of the hands of the NFL MVP with the game on the line was a bad call. Not because it didn’t work out, because all the indicators were pointing to go for it in that situation.
I agree with you. Normally that would be completely right. On this day unfortunately the reality is Rodgers missed a touchdown on both second and third down. Third down is the famous one everyone saw where it looked like he could run for it easy enough and didn’t try, instead forcing it to Adams who was well covered. But no one has mentioned second down as much. He again tried to force it to Adams in the back of the Endzone, but Lazard was actually running wide-open on the goal line a little further to Rodgers right. He just didn’t see him. Unfortunate, but all history now.
What does that even mean?? What did he do in this game to take away your ability to make the right decision with the game on the line? I can tell you the defense did nothing in the game to convince me that giving the ball to the Buccs is a good idea. Brady threw 3 bad picks, but the defense didn’t stop them very often. They had one 3 and out on the night, it was one of the interceptions. We are talking about Tom Brady. He just had 3 drives in a row end in a pick. Is there anyone mentally tougher at his position? Was there really anyone that thought pick #4 was coming, when all they needed was a couple first downs, they didn’t have to score. We are talking 20 yards of offense needed to end the game and go to the SB. Im not convincing you and you sure as hell aren’t convincing me.
I mean Rodgers cracked under pressure and got stuck keying in on Adams and hoped his best guy could bail him out. The last 2 seasons before this one Rodgers was actually played about as anti-clutch as he could. And actually I might be mistaken and it was actually 2017 and 2018.
They just played the Madden 21 version of the Super Bowl Chiefs 37 Bucs 27 That sounds a little closer to the truth. Now we all know Brady is Brady. But I don't think that the rest of that team stacks up against the Chiefs. But I also thought the same thing against the Saints and Packers. Go Chiefs. I don't think I can take another year of "Brady drama" coming out of Tampa.
OK that is not a bad predication.........you have 64 and O/U is 56. I took Under because I think both these teams have good Defense's.......and it's going to be a Barn Burner. I hope you had a good birthday yesterday and WOW that was a nice looking Saints BD Cake .
I saw that cake and just laughed out loud. That was great. And yes. I survived it. The last time I woke up with a hangover after my birthday was when I turned 30. YOU GET OLDER AND WISER.
