Anyone else have thoughts on repercussions following the attack on Capitol Hill? Do you think this will reoccur on the 20th?

 

It sounds like they might be planning something for the 20th. But I’m sure law enforcement will be better prepared and not allow it to go down the same way.

My husband was wondering why they are erecting this fencing which is pretty flimsy instead of making concrete barriers which are easily done with a skid steerer. Do you think they simply don't expect another but much bigger and better organized riot on the 20th?

 

They are gonna rely on the police force to control it. And for the most part that will work.

 

What baffles me—unless this is a bit—is socal could have said several times something to the point of:

‘I like trump but don’t like what people are doing on his behalf in the capital over these past few days.’

Boom. Done. Reasonable answer.

But he didn’t and hasn’t. Instead it’s ‘we can’t talk about the problem now,’ much like kids getting shot up in school or an unarmed black guy losing his life to a bad apple cop.

With the irony that inaction and pretending the problem ISN'T there being how we got to the point we’re at. Doing nothing while caring solely for money.

I agree @EvertonBears . We have a zero tolerance rule in our schools in Canada. Excuses and allowances are not tolerated. It makes for a much tighter and less dangerous system in place in all of our schools. Why isn't there an attitude of zero tolerance in place for these trump-loving idiots? What happened was illegal and the consequences have to be severe or this will continue to happen over and over again.

Something needs to be done about the incitement and lies being promoted by Trump and right wing loonies on the internet. But damn, Big Tech is all powerful and it's scary. And I fear the reaction to this will be literally violent from the far right, who will see themselves as the victims of course.
