    Wow & Ouch!

Post-game stat change costs daily fantasy contestant $1 million prize

Rob Huntze won $1 million in a DraftKings daily fantasy contest. Until he didn’t.

As explained by David Purdum of ESPN.com, a change to the official statistics from Monday night’s Bears-Rams game robbed Huntze of the jackpot he believed he’d won.

After the game ended, DraftKings’ official tabulation showed that Huntze had scored the most points out in more than 175,000 entries — and that he’d won $1 million. Then, 30 minutes later, it all went away.

The result changed because the NFL changed a sack that occurred late in the fourth quarter to a running play. As explained by Purdum, Rams quarterback Jared Goff faked a handoff to the right and ran a bootleg to the left. The Bears tackled Goff three yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Listed as a sack at the time, the official scorer changed the designation upon noticing that receivers appeared to be blocking.

“Plays such as this one are routinely discussed by the Stats Crew and updated accordingly,” NFL spokesman Michael Signora told Purdum via email. “In this instance, because the play happened so close to the end of the game, it was reviewed by the Stats Crew and then updated prior to publishing the Game Summary, commonly referred to as the Game Book.”

    Huntze instead won $3,554.

The morale of the story? Don’t count your chickens until they’re hatched — and until it’s verified that they are indeed chickens and not ducks.

Shesh how many points do you get for a sack

  3. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

In one league I’m in that sack is worth between 7-8 points, depending on yardage lost.

I just hope they changed the score before he told his boss to F#$@ off lol

    Week 8 check-in

League 1 - 10 team dynasty league. 2nd overall in points, 4-4 and 3rd in my division

League 2 - 12 team PPR redraft. 2nd overall in points, 4-4 and 2nd in my division

League 3 - 12 team PPR 2 player keeper. 2nd overall in points, 5-3 and 4th place in standings

League 4 - 12 team IDP dynasty AKA the l4sn Franchise League. 4th overall in points, 4-4 and last in my division with the two teams above me also being 2 of the 3 teams ahead of me in points.

So despite being well above average at putting together fantasy lineups that score well, my teams are a collective 17-15. Somebody remind me again why I think this is fun.

It is a bit like golf that way. It is fun because it is infuriating, and keeps you trying to improve

Fleaflicker (and ESPN) took away Taysom Hill's duel eligibility mid-season. This is entirely BS. People invested roster spots, Waiver currency and trades into him. Anyone rostering him was for in case he played at QB. They are even saying you can remove his week 11 points retroactively by making only QBs get passing points. Just wow.

I agree. Points is points when it comes to an individual player. No matter where he lines up, he should be awarded the points earned... if im understanding this correctly.

In espn he was listed as a TE. imagine scoring him as your tightend. I believe espn also made him aqb only for the rest of the year. Dont know about yahoo but in the past they have not made changes. At least they didnt the year i started joe webb as a wr 2 games in a row back in 2010.

Yahoo had him as QB only to begin with.

Doing 10 leagues this year and Kamaras banner day is only factoring into the championship game in 2 of them.

Id go with Baker vs the Jets

Check for updates, Browns plane delayed going to New Jersey due to positive COVID test by a player not yet identified. Not even sure when they will leave for the Jets game, hopefully it doesn’t get postponed.

No i didnt have him in any leagues nor did go against him in any leagues. I was meaning in my 10 leagues only 2 guys with him on their team are in the championship game.

THE GOOD: I'm in the championship game in both of my two main $ fantasy football leagues....

THE BAD: I'm going against Alvin Kamara in both leagues....

    THE UGLY: See above.
