The ravens didn’t beat shit. The Steelers took the dam ball from the ravens. Lamar is a turn over machine and the right defense can easily extract the ball from him.
Don't get mad, you know your team is faltering with a broken down QB with no legitimate backup in sight as we know Rudolph is a complete joke. If you watched EITHER game, then you know that the Steelers are riding a lucky streak which seems to have come to an end, nice 11 game run but it will end in a months time. No Super Bowl for them.
They beat the Ravens x2 the Titans and the Browns during that 11 game streak. Not a lucky at all. Just a dam good team, but now Ben looks like he has a problem. That doesn't change the fact that we kicked the Ravens ass twice.
They didn't kick anything, 457 yards of offense in the first game on that mighty D of yours, and you played the Ravens practice squad and 3rd string QB in the 2nd game, but if it makes you feel better that you won, that is ok. The bottom line is the Steelers are faltering down the stretch, just as they have done so many other times in the recent past. It doesn't surprise me a bit because they always lose to teams that they shouldn't have. They may very well not win another game this year, the Colts and the Browns will probably beat them and then whoever you guys get to draw in the playoffs, most likely the Colts/Ravens/Dolphins will end up beating that ass as well. Good season, but once again, failure at the end.
Good luck with Jackson in the future. He’s half the time accurate and half the time horrible passing, holds the ball like a loaf of bread which allows defenses to knock it out of his hands very easily. The real funny thing is that you guys are going to have to pay him 45 million a season plus when he is due a contract. He’s not good enough to carry the ravens anywhere with out a good supporting cast. You can laugh all you want at Rudolph but he and the Duck were a very bad roughing the passer penalty call away from beating you guys last season.
Is Lamar perfect? No. Is he the prototypical quarterback? No Is he an NFL MvP? Yes Can he take over a game by himself? Yes Is ANY QB worth 45 mil a season? Hell No. Are Teams stupid enough to pay that obscene amount of money? Possibly. Will Lamar get 45 mil? Hell no. Will he get 30? Probably. The teams that realize that they kill their team by giving the QB over a quarter of their salary cap allotment will be the ones that will dominate in the future. I hope that Eric DeCosta has realized the Ravens mistake when they paid Joe Flacco, the stupid amount of money they did and will not make the same mistake twice.
The virus situation is going to affect the salary cap immensely and in correlation, contracts will be contracting in response. the NFL is losing money through all of this, and they will respond accordingly. So can I see the contracts still getting bigger? Nope.
The reality is that, if a QB is starting caliber, he's going to get a new contract at the top of the market when the time comes. He doesn't have to be a star, but he's going to get paid like one. Because if your team doesn't, someone else's team will.
Are the Ravens a better team with or without Lamar? The salary cap threatens players at the bottom of the roster, not the top. That's just not the way it works. Lamar has all the leverage.
The NFL will rebound and there is no chance of Lamar signing a contract for lesser value when he can either ride it out for a correct payday from the Ravens or go to the free agent market in the spring of 2022 with a chance to push for Mahomes money. The NFL already stated that the cap will be no lower than $175mil for next season and considering they were able to navigate the entire season (to date) the likelihood of the cap remaining the same or increasing slightly has gone up from pre-season projections. The Ravens won't have the leverage necessary to get Lamar to settle for anything near $30mil.
This is true in a way, but, once again, teams should be realizing that if you mismanage your cap, mainly by giving a handful of players the majority of the allotment, your team might be just good enough to get to the playoffs, but it won't win you the Super Bowl. After this year, the Chiefs are going to lose a ton of talent off the team. The Rams are currently remodeling their roster after the Goff/Gurley/Donald contracts. The Saints are a huge example of what will be the result of kicking the can down the road, after this year, that roster will be gutted.
If the Ravens don't pay Lamar, another team will. Whether that's a good idea or not is not the conversation. But the Ravens aren't getting Lamar at any discount.
Yes, and they are assuming that the covid situation will be handled and in the past by next season's start, but it won't. This situation is not going away, any time soon. Can I see the Ravens letting him walk? No. Do they want to give him 40 mil plus? I doubt it.
The COVID situation will still not affect the television revenue, nor the ad revenue. And you can put me on the list of those that believe we are looking at the potential for things to be much better off by June of this year. What the Ravens want to do doesn't really mattered compared to what Lamar's market will dictate. He's going to get that $40mil plus. The only question will be - Which jersey will he be cashing those checks in?
Dak is thinking this same way. I kinda have to applaud Jerry for standing his ground on this issue. You can put me on the list of thinking that the govts of the world are not going to sit back and let this opportunity to slam the doors shut on freedom go by quietly. The vaccine comes out and within days, a new "variant, a much more virulent strain that we don't know if the vaccines will work" shows up. Nah, this thing is going to continue for a very long time. But as for football, you are probably right, but I can see Eric letting Lamar walk. It would be hugely difficult but it will not surprise me if they do it. p.s. I realize that I spoke quickly on a previous post, Do I think the Ravens want to let him walk? No, but Eric may do what is best for the team and let him walk anyway.
Ah, got it - I'm dealing with a crazy. The vaccine existing isn't going to magically fix everything in a few months. But there also isn't some global conspiracy for governments to take away everyone's freedoms. Come on, now...
Just watch and see what happens. I am not crazy, I just don't blindly follow the TV news unlike untold multitudes are currently doing.
