Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears Game Thread

Just further to the point blang kept nailing in the game thread, with a 10point lead at the half ive got Monty with 6 second half carries. SIX. They'd been running the ball down the Lions throats that first half so what do they do? Call 10 running plays the entire second half. First possession after halftime they go QB keeper, 4 pass attempts, punt. They dont get it, they'll never get it, they cant help themselves. Thats why Nagy and all his stupid coaches on that side of the ball can get the hell out of town as far as im concerned.


On the crippling fumble at the end of the game, my first move was to blame Ifedi. And he did get beat on the play, got beat like a drum all game. But watching again im putting it on Mitch.

He's got the Lions dropping into zone, he's got Miller running a curl and sitting in the soft spot between the LB's past the sticks, and he's got Mooney running the shallow crosser. Mooney is short of the sticks but has no one around him and with Miller attacking the LBs zone they cant press down towards Mooney. Trubisky could've gone to either guy probably but the point is the ball has to come out. That play needs to be processed quickly and the ball gone. A failing we've seen too often from Mitch came up once again and it cost them.

 

Agreed on all points. Everyone was in an uproar on Twitter over that play, so I watched it a couple times to be sure, and absolutely - Mitch was so late processing on that play that the defenders were already closing the windows to his waiting receivers by the time the ball came out. He's got two guys open, and that should've been recognizable from the snap to an NFL-caliber QB. You see him take this weird little hop after he gets the ball - that's when it should've been out. Instead, he hops, not setting his feet to throw, way late to recognize, and his admittedly s****y OL makes him pay the price.

But if Nagy wasn't an absolute moron, it would've never gotten to that point. My fiance had purchased one of those cutesy little canvas things with some comforting saying on it to hang up in the half-bath. Real small, not a big deal. It says, "Be You". She bought it over a year ago. A couple weeks ago, it disappeared. I asked her what happened to it, and she replied "I can't f***ing stand that phrase any more. It stays down until he's fired". I love her very much.

Hilarious. What I don't get about you bud is if you're trolling, it's pretty weak game as you can see by the responses to you. A good troll kicks the hornets nest and gets some heated responses. No one here gives two shits what you have to say so if you are trolling you'll never get the responses you want.

If you're not trolling, then I still don't get it, you've got a team that's undefeated and you spend your time reading....the Bears board? That'd be like us in 2006 cruising the Browns board. I get it, we as a shitty team have a more active fanbase on this site than your undefeated team, but go find some friends to chat with.

Like I said above I don't get it. I never went around the Lions board for example and gave them shit during....any year, even during the CBS days. What the hell fun is it to shit on a fanbase that's actively being shit on by their franchise? And Lions at least are divisional "rivals" if you did. The Steelers and Titans aren't even in the same *conference*.

We've recruited next to no Bears fans and have lost some big names (hopefully not permanently). At this rate those dudes will be all that's left.

 

It would be really cool to get some of our members back. I know that Mongo posts over at ChiCity but I'm not sure where the rest of them went.

 

Why have so many people left this site? This is the best run site .

 

I'm not really sure gidion. I think that a few of them just got busy and were coming in less and less. A couple got bounced by Tim (Phelonius and Al in Cal) and I'm not sure about the rest.

 

The alternative was Coward...

Why Arlington Hambright or Lachevious Simmons or Jason Spriggs weren't available I still have no clue. Apparently, Spriggs has been back from injury since 11/16.
