Didn't watch it. Was still driving back from out of state and got home at 9:30. Checked the score on my phone and never turned it on. Not going to look at the highlights either. We are now 4-18 against the Packers since 2010. I heard the old hag was at the game, hope she wasn't wearing a mask or social distancing. Fuck her and her entitled children. Looks like the defense was awful. Overrated and overpaid bitches. Khalil Mack needs to be traded as soon as legally allowed. I'll take a 4th rounder for him now, just to get that salary off the books. That trade for him has turned out to be a failure. The production simply isn't there and I'm tired of hearing about him "being held" every play. Hit the the goddamn QB and do your fucking job. This piece of shit team is probably going to beat the Lions and Jags, thwarting my hope that we lose out. And yes, I am actively and passionately rooting for them to lose every game and in humiliating fashion. Really looking forward to the Texans game. Can't see what Deshaun has in store for our piece of shit defense but it's going to be sweet. I'm thinking of career highs in yards and TDs with some dancing and taunting in Pace's direction after each score. It will be good. It will be even better if Mitch starts that game and sucks balls, which is almost a certainty.
Yet another instance of the Chicago Bears bending over and taking one in the ass from their biggest rival. This really isn't a rivalry anymore. It can't be when one side is completely dominated. Fuck this team....fuck everyone involved with it. You can't fire owners.
Hey Georgie, you spineless cuck, you want to show the fan base that you care? Fire Pace immediately. As GM he can pretty much do nothing between now and Black Monday anyway. Everything you've ever done in your time as Chairman has amounted to complete and total failure. Time to start doing things differently and that starts with some well-deserved in-season firings.
Few things... Nothing else to add. Everybody quit on these chumps and it was satisfying that Ginia went to a high infection state just to see the team she owns get its ass whooped. Fire everybody. This colossal failure is on Pace. You built this roster. The bad far outweighs the good and 2018 was the closest to the scales being balanced. It was an aberration. Strip the team to the foundation and start over. Don't half-ass it. Don't try to win by making VERY low-grade chicken salad out of chicken shit. Trade Fuller and Ejax. Talented pieces, but I'm tired of these fools chirping. Fuller may get you a 1st in return. Ejax you're probably selling low on as his effort has been missing for weeks. These two most of all seemed to lead the "I just don't give a shit" charge. If you CAN trade Mack do it. Doubt it, because in all of his genius, Pace restructured and next year Mack's cap hit is astronomical. Not many teams need him and can fit his 26.6 mil cap hit in 2021 before his 27.1 mil cap hit in 2022, 40 mil of that still guaranteed. Hicks has 1 year left and you may get a 3rd or 4th for him. Do it. Robert Quinn, Leno, Massie, Skrine, and Coward all need to be off this team next year. Eat some dead money time. Tagging then trading Arob seems unlikely, but you have to try and do that too, or just let the comp pick algorithm do its thing (don't sign big names) and get a 3rd round comp pick in the future. If someone thinks Darnell Mooney is worth a high pick, see ya kid. Good luck. Change the approach on how to build this team. Time for the absurd amount of money that's gone to the defense to go to the other side of the ball. Draft tackles. Not in the 7th round. Daniels - Mustipher - Whitehair is not a bad interior OL. You can do worse than Bars as a back up. You need a couple of nasty SOBs to anchor the edges. There will be several talented 2-way pass/run blocking OTs available come April. Fix that, draft at least one QB mid rounds to sit behind Foles who you're stuck with money-wise, and fix the damned run game with an offensive mind that knows how to. If teams like Jax can find undrafted rookie RBs that make scouts across the league look like ass hats for not seeing because he went to Illinois State, you can find one. Hell, a good offensive line makes bad ones average to above average. Draft QBs every year. Do what smart teams do. Put them in positions to succeed. Pair them with a coach that isn't getting fired before you bring in another coach who does something different. Can't believe I'm going to say it, but this is the offseason I expect the bears to be picking in the 8-15 range. Trade down to the 2nd half of the 1st. Pick up more picks. Give the new guy as many spins of the wheel as possible. Put guys in positions to succeed. Don't draft a QB high before leaving him high/dry. The Packers did it with Rodgers. They did it with Brohm, Shizer, and now Love. It may not work--no. But that they're pairing guys with coaches that aren't getting fired for continuity so that they don't constantly struggle with playbook 101. Dont sustain the mold that needs to be broken. You can't hire a GM that whiffs on 1st round picks like WRs made of glass that can't run routes or an edge rusher that was constantly blocked in 1 on 1s, and trade ups while wheeling and dealing future draft capital like its Monopoly money.
Perfect scenario is this: We lose out, so we end up around #8. We trade down to 16-20 range, pick up Zach Wilson (who could very well be available still), then use our next 3 picks on OTs
Let's be real....Pace is gonna be retained. And he will absolutely give up picks at some point to trade up.
Being real, I can see a scenario where Pace is fired if we're 5-11 with a 10 game losing streak. That would put his record at 39-58 (including playoff loss) and only one postseason in 6 seasons.
You stop it, now. Belief is all I've got right now. Nevermind that contract extension that pretty much guaranteed he'd be here for another few years, even though he didn't warrant it a year ahead of time at all. Just Virgina and Co being gracious idiots.
I've been telling the fiance for two years now that I want to get a Hicks jersey. Every time either of us come close, I just say, "No. Don't do it". Because I knew this day was coming - the day when the team falls apart, and everyone should be sold off. Whether or not they will be, I don't know, but they should be. Not gonna spend my money on another talent that this team wastes.
No thanks. Pass on Wilson. The kid's the flavor of the month right now and has 1 good win for BYU this year over Boise State. Picking on garbage teams otherwise like Texas State, North Alabama, Western Kentucky, and Houston (after their talent all left in the draft 2020) isn't convincing to me. The kid would be roadkill here. And not to be Buzz Killington, but if he keeps this up, he'll be gone before 8 (assuming best case scenario) ESPECIALLY if Justin Fields sucks again if Ohio State even plays. I think Wilson and Trask are busts waiting to happen. Most of all, this team needs an impact guy round 1, not a QB that will be benched come week 1--however long he holds a clipboard before he's thrust into a position to fail unless he's the elusive all-time great this franchise has never had at QB. For OTs, Sewell is gone before the bears pick (he's going #2 after Lawrence). Then it's Leatherwood from Bama, Mayfield from Michigan, Eichenburg from ND, Darrisaw from VTech. IMO you have to come away with one of these 4. It's not sexy, but if you wait to round 2, you aren't getting any of them. They are the best 2 way OTs in college. Don't half-ass it by taking Jackson Carman from Clemson in round 2 who is an absolute run mauler but pass-wise looks a lot like Charles Leno's best games in Chicago because Trevor Lawrence has spent his entire career at Clemson rolling away from him making sacks/pressures/bad plays non-existent because Lawrence either made a play of the RT blew his assignment. Don't take him just to learn that he can't be a standard LT at the next level (if he's the round 2 RT then I'm fine with that). Don't half ass it by trying to take one of the guards from NU, Tennessee, or USC (the Ohio State kid is going top 15) and playing a square peg in a round hole. This is where it's okay to be predictable/have other teams know you're taking a LT round 1. For QB, I'm good with Iowa State guy Brock Purdy, one of these Georgia kids in Newman or JT Daniels, or Texas A&M's Kellen Mond come rounds 3-5. I'd rather have the OL in a stable place before I drop a high pick on a QB. I double dip OL rounds 1-2. Darrisaw is my 1A (the guy looks like he has fun every play destroying DLinemen/has amazing hand/footwork), Mayfield my 1B (his 2019 tapes against two 1st round pass rushers taken in April is impressive/Michigan sucking now has pundits cold on him), Eichenburg my 1C (hate Notre Dame, but the kid was compared to Mike McGlinchy in 2019 before getting better/now garnering comparisons to Ronnie Stanley in 2020), Leatherwood 1D (not that he can't break the mold, but Bama tackles tend to struggle at tackle in the NFL and oft move inside. My bias for NU wants Slater round 2, but the Oklahoma State OT Tevin Jenkins would be great as well. He's the same guy that Carman is for Clemson, except Oklahoma State doesn't have Trevor Lawrence or an intelligent coach for that matter, but can boast a halfback averaging 6-7 yards when running off Jenkins as Clemson can with Carman.
Fields looks like a bust to me. Puts up huge stats throwing to wide open guys but based on what I've seen he cannot read defenses..
I don't bet on any QB Urban Meyer recruited. I thought the last Ohio State QB had the tools to maybe break the mold, but he's proving the rule right.
Provided he can handle interviews this year he'll get his out over Ohio State getting games cancelled left and right. The kid Trey Lance from ND State is. Still considered a 1st round pick even when in an exhibition game he laid an egg. He's lucky because when Ohio State does play, they just have an elite unit around him. A line that gives him all day in the pocket, 2 top 10 NCAA RBs, and diverse WRs from tall and fast, to tall jump ballers, to speedy smurfs, to dependable tight ends. To be fair, college plays/schemes are now in the NFL a lot more than a trick/gadget play here/there going back to 2010. Haskins I think got the shaft. He may suck, I don't follow DC enough--but he got 1/4 of the rope the Bears gave Mitch. He was up and down last year before Chico Rivera brought his guys/got Alex Smith back. He and Darnold are names to watch via FA because the Jets will move on from him with Trevor Lawrence and DC will move on from Haskins with a draft pick, Smith another year or two if he plays. But otherwise agree. Everyone except Alex Smith has been a bum from Tebow to Leak to Terrelle Pryor--who had to become a WR. Are JT Barrett and Cardale Jones even in the league? I'm not trying to over-analyze the tea leaves but Pace was on AM780 this morning in a rare interview appearance. When he wasn't dodging/giving non-answers he indicated often he and Nagy are tied together. Every decision, game plan, and player development is a collaboration. They succeed and fail together. So they can be fired together.
In his presser today Nagy called out the defense... They were total shit last night. He's not wrong. But....they have also carried your pathetic, bottom of the league, offense for 3 seasons coach.
I never like seeing a team quit, unless they are deliberately tanking. But it seems like this D is quitting on Nagy. One thing about Hicks, aside from his production and presence, was his effort. It was always there. You can't say that about anyone else on this defense. I'm old enough to remember when you had the JA "I suck" avatar back in the CBS days. Then you changed it to Emery "I might suck", then shortly later Emery "I suck". Ditto Pace. Most likely ditto the next GM. But at least a new GM would give me a fool's hope for a brief period of time.
The saddest part about this latest cheesedick fuckathon is just how predictable the whole thing was. We all saw this coming, hell varder practically nailed the scoreline! But i'll say this, they can take that scoreboard and shove it up Nagy's funky ass. That score wasnt 41-25, fuck that garbage city bullshit. The real scoreline was 41-10, thats what it was after 3Q's, when the Peckers stopped playing. That entire 4th Q was sugarcoat and completely irrelevant. Im really glad the old hag went up there and had to sit thru that shit in person. Im kinda terrified that she was there as well tho. I mean how out of touch with the team must these clowns be to think they were gonna witness anything but a horror show blowout?? By my rough count, Mitch managed to rack up around 120yards(half his total) and 2 TDs of garbage stats in the final 2 possessions of the game. And even with that full quarter of charity he still couldn't even crack a 75 passer rating! His rating thru 3Qs must've been in the 40s at best. Utter dogshit. Both picks were terrible, particularly the 1st which never had a shot at any point. And it would've been 3 terrible picks if Kevin King could catch in the endzone. Trubisky played crap. He played like Trubisky, the guy we already know he is. 1 consolation is its 1 game down where he wasnt able to trick these idiots into handing him another contract. 5 more to go. Everytime you hear Nagy in a postgame presser now he sounds more and more like the shoe salesman fraud he is. This guy has no idea where it went wrong and even less idea how to fix it. The plane is in a nosedive and Nagy is the captain. Im sure he'd like to pull up and not smear the whole aircraft over the side of a mountain, but he cant find the cockpit, and anyway, there are people who need help putting their tray tables into the upright position first. The Packers were merciless to Buster Skrine last night. I don't even know how many times they targeted him, 20? Felt like 50. At first they were primarily putting Adams in the slot to isolate on Skrine. But after a while it was anyone. It looked like Erin was looking to whoever was matched up with Skrine. Clearly LaFlower looked at the Bears D and said v solid outside, the weakness is slot, thats where we're gonna attack. That is called game planning, Nagy. Identifying the opponents weakness and attacking it. When has Nagy ever identified a weakness and attacked it?? He doesnt even know his own team let alone an opponent. Preston Smith came into this game having a bad year, with just 1.5sacks thru 10 games after 12sacks last season. But what better remedy for that than a Charles Leno. Result: A sack, a TFL, 2 QB Hits, a drawn holding penalty and a TD. Fucking beautiful. Was good to see Monty have a great game. 100yards rushing, over 140 total yards, a TD & the standard numerous broken tackles. Of all the needs this team has, RB. Is. Not. One. We all know he hasnt been thrown to enough, but honestly, nothing ive seen from Cole Kmet this season says 2nd rounder. He makes some blocks he misses some blocks. He hasnt had many catching opportunities but when he has nothing has wowed me. On his very few targets this year he fumbled out of bounds once, and came very close to fumbling into the endzone last night. He should've scored a TD. Said when they drafted him what college tape i saw said 3rd rounder, now id prob say 4th rounder. Meanwhile a bunch of interior lineman the Bears passed on for Kmet have become starters and are contributing every game. That guy Mustipher has looked pretty useful so far. Thats prob the best the Bears have run inside since about week 2. And from what i saw he's got a bit of a battler mentality. Whitehair also had his first non shit game since early in the season. If its me im not playing Cody at C again the rest of the season. Im keeping him at LG and im evaluating Mustipher to see if he shows enough to suggest he could start next season. I can think of worse things right now than Daniels-Mustipher-Whitehair in the interior and it would let you focus on both Tackles spots too. Keep it up Mustipher. Looking at that D going forward, we should prob be honest with ourselves and say Hicks and Mack arent leaving. Mack because his contract is unmovable and Hicks because they are lost whenever he's not on the field.
You wanna see lack of effort go watch Mack on that first TD. Either he was gassed, which considering it was the first possession of the game would be unlikely, but pathetic. Or that was total lack of effort. Also pathetic.
Ok now that game's off my chest. I do genuinely think Nagy will be gone after this season. He's looks lost. Only a 3-2 or better to close out the season, or maybe winning the final 2 saves him and even tho there's winnable games i cant see it. It would be silly as hell, a lame duck GM choosing the next HC, but would it really surprise you with this team? Maybe they'll just tell Pace who he's hiring. Even more dumb but they've already done that before! Getting rid of Pace will be harder. He's an ingratiating little shit and i bet he tends to Virginia's bunions just the way she likes. Only chance i really see of Pace getting knifed is if they lose out, and lets be honest, when have things ever played out that well for us the poor fans? They'll win again, goddam guaranteed. Somehow someway. Hell prob twice just to give us that extra kick to the crotch with shitty draft position.
