It’s tough to beat Kubiak to the punch in the trenches. You have to be willing to attack the line of scrimmage on every down, understand that a 3 yard gain has to be considered a win, and prepare to get your nose bloody.
Monday Night Football: Jared Goff throws 3 TDs as Rams earn 27-24 victory over Bucs Jared Goff threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns and Matt Gay converted a 40-yard field goal with 2:36 remaining as the Los Angeles Rams took the lead in the NFC West standings with a 27-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night. Jordan Fuller intercepted Tom Brady twice with the second coming inside the final two minutes to seal the victory for Los Angeles. With a rushing attack that managed just 37 yards on the night, the game fell to Goff and his receivers to deliver. Robert Woods caught 12 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown and Cooper Kupp added 145 yards on 11 receptions on the night. The Rams are now 32-0 when leading at halftime under head coach Sean McVay. The Buccaneers also couldn’t run the ball at all with just 42 yards on the ground. However, Brady had far less success in the passing game as opposed to Goff. The Rams held Tampa Bay to just 251 yards of total offense. Goff and Woods connected on a 4-yard touchdown to cap a 13-play, 80-yard drive on the Rams’ opening possession of the night. A pair of 10-play drives for Tampa Bay followed as Brady and Mike Evans hooked up for a 9-yard touchdown and Leonard Fournette scored on a 2-yard run as the Buccaneers took a 14-7 advantage. The Rams would answer again when Goff found Van Jefferson for a 7-yard touchdown, the first of Jefferson’s career, to knot the game at 14-14. Gay would convert from 38 yards on the final play of the half as the Rams took a 17-14 lead into the break. Goff’s two interceptions helped keep the Buccaneers in the game. The two turnovers led to 10 points for Tampa Bay as both came inside Los Angeles territory. A mix up on a screen pass led to Goff throwing a pass directly to Jason Pierre-Paul. Ryan Succop converted a 38-yard kick to again even the game up at 17-all. After a missed field goal from Gay, the Rams managed to capitalize on Fuller’s first interception of Brady. Goff and Cam Akers connected for a 4-yard touchdown as the Rams took a 24-17 lead. A fumbled snap exchange set the Rams back before Goff was picked off by Jordan Whitehead to set up the tying score. Brady connected with Chris Godwin for a 13-yard touchdown as the Buccaneers evened the game at 24-24 with 3:53 left to play. But the Buccaneers couldn’t slow the Rams passing attack. Goff hit Woods for 23 yards and Kupp for 19 yards to move deep into Tampa Bay territory. Gay’s 40-yard kick would give the Rams the lead for the final time. Fuller then intercepted Brady on an overthrow for Cameron Brate and the Rams managed to run out the closing seconds. Brady completed 26 of 48 passes for 216 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Brady did take the all-time career passing touchdowns record from Drew Brees. Brees being out injured will allow Brady the chance to rebuild a little cushion to his advantage. NBC

I’m having a lot of fun watching my Brownies on Sunday. They are inching closer to a return to the playoffs. However, this post isn’t about them. I’m not sure if I want to admit this, I am fascinated by the NFC East race. 4 of the bottom 5 teams in the conference and a 1/2 game separates them all. I understand it’s a gimme for their wild card opponent and an abomination that they should even be allowed to make the playoffs, but this is even more interesting than a few years back when the winner of the NFC South was sub .500. I mean at least the Panthers and even the Seahawks were only 1 game or less under .500. I find myself rooting for whomever is playing a NFC East opponent just to see how low the division winner can be. It’s realistic that the Eagles schedule only has two winnable games left out of 6, they are both against East teams. Prediction: a split to end at 4-11-1 The Giants also have 2 winnable games, but only 1 against the East. They play the Cowboys and the Bengals. The Bengals without Burrow and Mixon becomes a must win. This also sets up the showdown.. The Football Team ALSO has two winnable games against the East in the Cowboys and Eagles. Again, predicting a split they end at 4-12. Finally, the Cowboys have arguably the easiest remaining schedule playing all 3 of the other East teams and the banged up and bad Bengals. So, predicting a win against the Bengals, they hold their destiny in their hands only needing one more win to take the NFC East crown. This sets up the PRIMETIME WEEK 17 matchup for the winner winning the NFC East between the COWBOYS AND GIANTS both teams sitting at 4-11. Winner goes to 5-11 and beats out the Eagles by 1/2 game in the closest division in history. Cowboys 5-11 Eagles 4-11-1 Giants 4-12 Football Team 4-12 this scenario is so realistic, I can’t stop watching those NFC East games... Or the Cowboys could go on a run and win 4 of their remaining 6 to win the division at 7-9. Sad part is, the Cowboys have the easiest path, they could easily finish 7-9 and make it halfway respectable, yet with that defense, every team vying for a playoff birth is hoping for them to win the division. That defense alone helps any team facing them win the wild card game. At least the other three defenses put up a fight.
On a related note: Go Washington Football Team on Turkey day! They need the win against the Cowboys to keep this dream alive.
In this crazy year we'll probably get a (5-11) division winner that winds up making a deep run in the playoffs....
Speaking of Thanksgiving... I hope all of you have a great one! Some interesting stuff to view, to say the least. Looks like football starts at 8:20 lol
I'd never looked to see how it might play out. A 5 win team making the playoffs would be horrific. And embarrassing for the league. I think it would lead to them making a change of some kind surely. But im the same as you, the East is such a joke now that i kinda want them all to lose each week to see how bad it can get.
It's disappointing that Washington plays the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and thanks to the PC name change....no one is gonna make Cowboys vs Indians jokes.
Ravens-Steelers still scheduled for Thursday night The Ravens won’t have running backs Mark Ingram or J.K. Dobbins, who have tested positive for COVID-19. The Ravens are working remotely on Tuesday, the only real day of practice for a short-week game. The Ravens have more players who have tested positive. The Ravens nevertheless will be playing on Thursday night. Via Judy Battista of NFL Media, the league says that the Ravens-Steelers game set for Pittsburgh remains on track to be played. “We will continue to monitor developments in consultation with our medical experts.” the league said, adding that the health and safety of players, coaches, and staff are paramount. Resting a half click below paramount is getting the games played, even if it means calling up practice-squad players and other assorted slappies to fill out a roster. Although there was a belief before the season began that a certain critical mass of missing players could result in games being postponed, the league’s approach became as of Week Seven’s Buccaneers-Raiders contest that the games will be played on the day they are scheduled to be played, and that teams must rely on the time-honored principle of “next man up.” Before that, multiple games were delayed, either by a day or two or by a week or three. The league has since decided to kick the ball while it’s on the tee, because there’s no guarantee that a postponement would allow a game to be played. That’s bad news for the Ravens, good news for the Steelers, and better news for a league that already has lost nearly all of its ticket revenue — and that wants to keep as much of its TV revenue as it can. Browns cornerback played every snap of Sunday’s win over the Eagles, but he went for an MRI on his calf after telling the team it was bothering him on Monday morning. It appears the results of the test weren’t good news for Ward. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Ward is expected to miss a few weeks as a result of the injury. There’s no word on whether the Browns will be putting Ward on injured reserve. If he does go on the list, he’ll have to miss at least three games. Ward has started every game this season and has 38 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a league-high 15 pass breakups. Terrance Mitchell, Kevin Johnson, Tavierre Thomas, Robert Jackson, and M.J. Stewart round out the cornerback group on the 53-man roster. NBC
Ouch! Ward has come up big for the Browns all year. That's not good. There's no quit in the Jags. I was concerned about this week even if we had Garrett and Ward.
Anyone have any updates on Greedy’s shoulder? He’s missed the minimum 3 games and could return at any time. I know it was a nerve issue, but I didn’t hear about surgery or anything else after he was put on IR well over a month ago.
I looked around the WWW and all I could find is he is still having nerve issues and that surgery was not required. Terrence Mitchell has the job for now. Greedy is listed as 'out indefinitely'.
Thanksgiving night just got messed up. They moved the Ravens @ Steelers to Sunday afternoon. Jezz.........Blame Covid Gidi......that is the 2nd time the Steelers have been involved in a Covid Re-Schedule.
