Cordarrelle Patterson ties NFL record with eighth career kick return touchdown

The Bears had six points and 117 yards of offense in the first half. They have seven points and a 104-yard kickoff return only 14 seconds gone in the second half.

The Bears have their first lead, 13-7.

Cordarrelle Patterson caught the ball 4 yards deep in the end zone and went coast to coast. Kicker Dan Bailey had the only real shot at him, and Patterson juked him near midfield.

Patterson threw up the deuces before he reached the end zone.

It was his eighth career kickoff return for a touchdown, tying him with Josh Cribbs and Leon Washington for the all-time NFL lead.

    NOT SO FAST !!

The results of medical evaluations performed Monday on New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees revealed that he has multiple rib fractures on both sides of his chest and a collapsed lung on the right side, according to a source.

Brees is unsure how much time he might be forced to miss before returning to start for the Saints, the source said.

Brees is suffering from three fractured ribs on his left side and two on the right, possibly more, according to the source. Doctors have cautioned Brees to be especially careful with the damage to his lung.

And now tampon bay has a secret weapon on the saints, Winston and his INT machine Will be making stops around the league.

You had to bring that up didn't you. I wanted to see Hill put in. But the article went on to say that if the Saints did that, they'd have to revamp the whole offence to accommodate a change like that. So I guess we're stuck with Winston.

He went down with a knee injury Sunday as well. Don’t know how serious, just know it wasn’t the same knee that caused him to miss 2 years

That's gotta piss Hill off. The guy thinks he's a QB in this league, not a gadget guy. What NO is saying is that keeping a gadget player where he is is more important than having the better QB back there. OR they're saying that Hill isn't the better QB, which is also terrible for his prospects as a future starting NFL QB...

I get what your saying but it's asking an awful lot to change an entire offensive strategy, playbook and all in a week. I think we go with what we got. If it works, great. If not? We're in deep shit.

I think Sean Payton knows exactly what Hill is. A terrific gadget and fill in guy that can throw defenses off.

He's not an every down, under center QB or else you wouldn't need to change your entire offense to put him in.

  11. SoCalSaint Franchise Player Saints

Hmmmm. Hadn't thought of it that way. You might be right. Payton said last year that Hill was every bit as good as Steve Young was. I thought that was saying a lot. Maybe that was just head coach BS to the media.

If Hill was every bit as good as Steve Young....Hill would be a starting QB for someone...not a 30 year old gimmick QB.

He's great at exactly what he does. But I'm pretty certain that's exactly who he is.

  13. SoCalSaint Franchise Player Saints

He's 30? Thought he was younger than that. Sean Payton loves his gimmicks. Never a dull moment with him. Let the good times roll.

I agree entirely. That's why I've gotta imagine it pisses Hill off - last I heard, he envisioned himself as a future starting NFL QB... I'm sure that was just to get himself a bigger contract, but you know what I mean.

I find it interesting that Hill is a Multi Tasker....QB and Special Teams player.

But his Stats are not great and Green Bay waived him after 3 pre-season games.

Buckle Up for Winston SCS........and be prepared he does throw INT's.

BUT with that O-Line he might be a good Pick-Up in Fantasy Leagues.

He makes quite a bit of money for just a gimmick guy
