There’s no president elect until they recount the votes. You can’t block funds for someone that doesn’t exist yet. When the music over, bring the end.
Well the music is my only friend, bring the end. Everyone needs to be patient and wait until the vote is fully counted.

And the human dumpster fire emerges to derail the conversation.

Biden very much is the President-Elect as we speak. Hiding your head in the sand doesn't make the world go away.

The fat lady hasn’t done any singing yet. Wait until the vote is counted.

You realize that outside of 2000, when a closer recount was absolutely necessary, we have not waited until every vote was counted in any recent election.

When Trump beat Hillary....the election was called on election night because the vote tabulations made it obvious and Hillary conceded.

This time, thanks to mail in votes and covid, it took a few extra days...but the result is obvious. It's over. There are not enough votes left out there to flip the board for Trump.

If this were any other candidate....any other President....this wouldn't be happening right now.

Apparently there is at least one level-headed Republican who wants action on this so that whoever wins will be prepared.

The outcome is decided to anyone living in reality. You can have a thousand recounts in every state and it won't change the fact that Joe Biden will be president on Jan 20, 2021.

Don't forget the plan to keep the Republican voters riled up in Georgia so they show up for the run-off elections of the last 2 Senators. GOP is trying to keep the majority in the Senate as it stands at 50-48 for the GOP. If they lose both to the Dems. then Kamala gets to cast the deciding vote and Mitch McConnell becomes irrelevant and unable to block legislation anymore. Might be a blessing with a 50-50 tie. At least then they might try to actually use compromise to solve their disagreements.

And then I'll wake up in black and white again and you were there, and you, and you were a scarecrow and you were a tin man.........

Just read this article from Reuters

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...nse-instead-go-to-president-rnc-idUSKBN27R309

But any small-dollar donations from Trump’s grassroots donors won’t be going to legal expenses at all, according to a Reuters review of the legal language in the solicitations.

A donor would have to give more than $8,000 before any money goes to the “recount account” established to finance election challenges, including recounts and lawsuits over alleged improprieties, the fundraising disclosures show.

The emailed solicitations send supporters to an “Official Election Defense Fund” website that asks them to sign up for recurring donations to “protect the results and keep fighting even after Election Day.”

The fine print makes clear most of the money will go to other priorities.

A large portion of the money goes to “Save America,” a Trump leadership PAC, or political action committee, set up on Monday, and the Republican National Committee (RNC). Under Federal Election Commission rules, both groups have broad leeway in how they can use the funds.

I think the odds of GA going with 2 Dem. senators is extremely low. 1) GA is a Republican state. 2) Nationwide (IMO) and in GA the popular vote that went to Biden was more of a repudiation of Trump rather than for-Biden votes. If I am right, the GA voters will pivot back to true political base.

(I don’t want that anyone get their knickers in a twist. When one uses a very wide brush to make a point it glosses over many stalwart Dems.)

Expect a 52:48 Republican majority in the Senate.

The odds of the Dems picking up those Georgia seats is an extreme longshot, IMO. America in general showed exactly how they felt with this election. Change at the top and staying middle of the road and leaning towards the right for the most part in Congress.

    I totally agree.

And 4 years of the Senate choosing to not cooperate with anything the President wants to do and vice versa.

This may be more wishful thinking than pragmatic realism. What I hope for is the Executive Branch chooses to depart from the highly polarized nature of the Dem.: Rep. relationship. In other words, learn to work together. Since the Exec. is Dem., it’s incumbent on the President to do the heavy lifting.

(Of course no political party can avoid polarizing matters all the time. That would forsake their reason for being.)

However, Trump won in 2016 because the populace was fed up with the Beltway antics-as-usual. The 2024 elections are at stake, and if Biden is genuinely Presidential for most of the term, then he stands a much better chance of winning in ‘24.

Unfortunately the disconnect between Congress and Oval Office has some history now.

Dems itched to get seats while W was in office so they could derail his agenda.

A republican congress stopped working with Obama before he even had in inauguration and the Dems treated Trump essentially the same if not worse.

The infighting seems to be trending up instead of down.

Maybe Biden can use his ties to help that. But I’m not hopeful.

His ties with the Ukrainians and Chinese?

    My emphasis added.

Uhmm, that’s a big understatement. The Dems impeached Trump in a pure act of political impetuousness.

Each side will reap what they sow. When and if someone chooses to break ranks with extreme-partisanship then that person (& party) will have an opportunity to gain a sustainable advantage. To me, it makes sense that the President try. And Biden appears to have the requisite personality to try to pull it off.
