Trump has blocked funds meant for the President elect. He has told agencies to submit budgets even though he won't be in office. He has ordered people in his administration to completely ignore Biden's team and not work with them. He isn't allowing Biden access to daily security briefings....something that could be longterm dangerous for our country.

Slowly is not what we need. Recount the votes....hear all the legal cases....do it swiftly.

Trump talks about America first...and so do his followers. Yet they prove, when it matters most, they are just the same as everyone else and care about themselves first and everything else second.

 

This is one of the most unsettling issues ... watching a President creating obstacles for the President Elect. It really holds a mirror up to Trump and what he stands for and cares about and that sure as hell isn't the country he's supposed to be managing.

 

For the most part Dems that appealed to the middle won or made really good showings. Dems that stayed further left mostly lost. And it was something we all talked about the past four years. Until the Democrats wake up and realize that middle America matters....they are going to continue to lose a lot. They still don't understand how this country works.

My gut feeling is Trump knows he lost. Part of everything he does is playing a role. And he knows he can keep his base with him for the next 4 years if he fights this publicly. While being far from the smartest guy in the world....Trump isn't a total dummy. He has to know his allegations of mass fraud are incorrect.

Almost all the early rulings from courts have not favored Trump. Recounts are fine...they rarely change anything though.

I'm 100% fine with the courts deciding as long as they work swiftly.

Doing nothing and just letting it play out will normalize this type of behavior.

Americans, all across the board, need to do the exact opposite and let their elected leaders on both sides know that they don't condone behavior that doesn't benefit all Americans in general.

 

When was the last time either held any sway in the RNC?

 

I might be overreacting or just not paying enough attention but from my vantage point it doesn't even feel like we have a President right now. We still have a pandemic going on and it doesn't feel like anyone is steering the ship at the moment.

 

That's pretty terrifying.
And it sure puts the States at a disadvantage militarily-speaking.

Like Carville said. Take a nap. Trump will most likely be gone in two months. Not even "The Donald" can screw up this country in that time period. Just sit back and count the days rather getting in a lather about nothing.

 

Actually SoCal, I think that's the worst possible advice. Being pro-active at this point would be a lot saner and safer.

 

It's like the end of a hopelessly one sided football game. Sure, both sides will go thru the motions, but neither team is going to do anything stupid. Just let the clock run out.

I may not have read back far enough in this thread, but I'd like to add. So, I apologize if it has already been said.

It starts to look a lot clearer that Trump is stalling this process for as long as he can (and acting the sore loser as he is quite well known for). This isn't the only reason, but Trump has $900M-plus in loans due in the near future. He was hoping for the 2nd term to help pay these loans off with his continued grifting and policy thru "Presidential" policy decrees.

Since he lost the election this is all a big show and cash grab. He's got the "donate to me for legal expenses to win this election" campaign in full swing and he's pulling in piles of cash. He just has to keep stroking the cow with his anti-Democrat stances in order for milk to flow from the 70+ million Trump voters/supporters. If he plays nice, the money slows down and dries up.

I will continue to express my thoughts and feelings however I choose to. This is an opinion board. I, and others, are expressing their opinions here.

What happens right now and in the next couple months is extremely important. This is not the time to ignore what's going on.

I think that's a foregone conclusion SoCal because we were raised differently and in different countries and cultures. I don't think any American today should be standing on the side lines watching what is going on politically without being proactive about it and not being passive. I'm talking about rational, reasonable and mature discussions between Americans in an effort to change this atmosphere of intolerance and hatred that has become the norm in the States.

To add to my previous post:

Trump is sowing a lot of discord thru his lawsuits and election denial. But even as Karl Rove pointed out yesterday, none of these lawsuits so far are going after a large enough number of ballots or bear any merit to their fraud claims in order to flip a single state. When he loses his electoral challenge, this will leave a really bad taste in the mouths of his supporters......and from there I can foresee more donation campaigning for a Trump 2024 run in order to pay off his due loans.......(cough, cough, ahem) I mean further fill his re-election coffers.

 

Outside of death or illness....I think a Trump run in 2024 is a definite.
