I saw this in the comment section under a story about hurricane Eta. Not trying to cause trouble here. I just thought it was funny.

    All hurricanes are liberals.

They always spin to the left.
Their sole source of power is simply hot air.
They leave a mess everywhere they go, and the rest of us always have to clean up after them.
Sane people leave when one approaches.
They cannot decide if they are male or female.
They wander around with no real direction.

Meanwhile the right is spinning it’s wheels trying to prove their guy won an election he actually lost....

There's a lot to unpack here, in these two statements. None of it looks favorably at you. Maybe try changing your understanding of "not starting trouble" or your sense of humor, for a start.

Not so much the right. It's Trump. C'mon. Are you surprised? I'm not. It's Trump being Trump. To be honest. I don't see how he's going to pull it off. He has to prove a massive fraud and conspiracy. And even if there was one, that's a tough thing to prove in court, all the while the clock is ticking.

    Good retort. Well done.

Trump is the right. He owns the GOP these days. And the GOP’s response to these “fraud” accusations are proof. They will stand behind anyone if it means they can stay in power.

I love that guy. Even when he makes my blood boil, he's a hell of a lot of fun to listen too.

WHAT? The RNC hated him 4 years ago. Still do. They just won't admit it. They wouldn't back him until it became it became obvious that he was a clear favorite. And even then begrudgingly.

There are rumors Trump Jr and his wife are gonna take over the RNC.

Trump owns right wing politics right now. The only reason the right hasn’t said anything about the election is they need to win the runoffs in Georgia and they know if they piss Trump off right it hurts their chances.

It isn’t about liking or disliking him...it’s about getting votes. GOP candidates know they stand a better chance in an election by siding with Trump.

I don't see that happening. The RNC likes middle of the road republicans, not so much the right wingers

    .

Might be some truth there. But the votes have already been cast. Gotta sit back and wait.

    Both sides do that!

    The election results were:
A vote against Trump. And, a vote against the Democratic party’s more extreme posturing. Biden easily won the popular vote (actually not important) and EASILY won the EC (very important).

But, they were thwarted in there effort to gain power in Congress. They actually lost seats in the House.

For the record, when I was in the USA I was a registered independent because I wanted - and did - vote for candidates based on policies and not based on party affiliation. I had direct dealing with Trump back in the 80’s; I have firsthand knowledge that he IS an asshole. That part of him is not an act. However, he is deeply entrenched in his negotiating philosophy. He never concedes A THING while the outcome is still undecided. And, with the stakes being so high, he will not believe the election is over until after the court cases are history. Believe what you will about the ultimate outcome - the courts have not decided.

My personal hope is that once the inevitable becomes established reality that he will come down from his horse. He actually could risk damaging the Republicans’ ability to turn Democratic initiatives toward the center.

I know he’s an asshole. I hope that I am right that what we’re witnessing is his negotiating strategy. I’d say that the appropriate response by average Americans is to to just let it play out.

I agree. Let the wheels of justice grind on slowly.

I didn't realize you were part of the club. There's several of us on these boards who have had horrible personal interactions with the guy. It still doesn't cease to amaze me how there's a cult that worships him for it...

    John McCain?
    Mit Romney?

You call them the right wing of the GOP?

I didn't realize they made up the majority of the GOP, and were both recently elected (hint: one isn't even alive any more).

Anyone who looks at recent GOP nominees and thinks, "that's a Centrist party" is likely very dangerous, crazed, or some combination of both.

The RNC likes cash. It's all about fundraising. Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guifoyle have proven to be pretty damn good fundraisers. They have alienated some of the extreme religious right but a lot of people inside the RNC also think they have done a lot of good to modernize their committee.

Totally missed the point on what I said but okay.

I have never seen either side react to a President the way the right has reacted to Trump. The Dems rode Obama's coattails but the sheer amount of ass kissing and turning the other cheek that goes on with Trump is unprecedented in modern politics.
