I've always defended the right of division winners to make the playoffs, even host a playoff game. Even when there have been .500 division winners. Hell even times like when the Seahawks won the division going 7-9(think that was Carroll's first season there). But im seriously wavering on that belief now. The NFC East is an abomination. We could very feasibly see a team take that division with 6 wins, that is nuts. None of em are close to good. I thought the Eagles were clearly the best but they damn near lost last night. Wentz was horrible until those final 2 drives.
Eagles are the best team in that division. I think they are a far better team than the way they've played....Wentz is much better than his current product he's displaying. If a team with 6 or 7 wins makes the playoffs....I'll forgive them if they win their first game.
Why do they have to rehash the tuck rule game? That’s the worst call I’ve seen in my many years of watching football. The raiders earned that game and the league wanted the patriots to win the SB.
I thought the Eagles were clearly the best but they damn near lost last night. Wentz was horrible until those final 2 drives. Everton I thought the NY Giants handed them the victory with all the Penalties in the last 5 minutes.
Who’s got the longest run of the season in the NFCE? Without Goggling this I'm going to guess Ezekiel Elliot.....great question Gidi.
Wish I had time for a longer answer but the immediate problem for Baker is his inability to handle pressure. When you show opposing teams your weakness they will exploit it. The Steelers were blitzing on both running and passing downs because they didn't think Mayfield could make them pay - which really says something about a team with Odell Beckham on the field.
What’s interesting about that observation is it both ties in with @TopDawg ’s point as well as my predraft concerns about his athletic profile not being compatible with his style of play when transferred to the pro level. Is it more that he needs to get comfortable within the system, or more that he can’t get away with the same pocket tricks that he could in college?
Steve Mclendon DT is a guy you want on your team. Why? Because while still with the Jets prior prior to their game he found out he was traded to the Buccaneers. So what did he do? He suited up and played for the worst team in the league. Simply put he is a football player and if you put enough of those guys on one team you will win a lot of games.
Has Tom Brady seen this report? Not sure what it all means? The bottom three on the list are a combined 11-7
And have thrown 11 picks while under pressure versus just 1 touchdown with completion percentages south of 50. Not black and white stats but I think it says exactly what you think it does....the guys on the bottom are performing poorly under pressure. The top 3 are 14-2.
It’s just reference data. It points more toward personal proficiency and less towards team accomplishment.
