A shootout. Browns have to play defense... if they are half-way decent and force a few turn-overs or get 3rd down stops, they might win this one. I have to pick Dallas at home, but it will be close and Cleveland, if they are in it, will have a shot at the end to win it. Best defense for Cleveland would be long sustained offensive drives utilizing the 2-back ground attack. I like that... "2-back ground attack"! Do it.
You would have a valid excuse not to do anything around the house during football season if they had nationally televised games every day
I once said that in my head......just to myself............ It went a little something like this.....
So the divorce rate would go through the roof. But we would have football seven days a week, fresh highlights everyday. The wife can have everything except the 80” TV and the kegerator
Lot of injuries out there for the Brownies Also, I think Switzer was one of your guys, right @TopDawg? Better late than never!
IMO long run fueled drives are only going to be possible if the Browns keep it close. I gotta believe Dallas knows their best path to victory is to stop the run and put the game on Baker's arm. His history shows he will throw you the ball, and turnovers, kill drives, give extra possessions to Dallas, and plant seeds of doubt in our guys about Baker. On the flip side, if Myles and co. can rush Dak, he may return the favor.
Another slant on it. Browns need Baker to break out. Dallas needs Zeke to break out. Which of those is more likely? IMO the Browns need Baker more than Dallas needs Zeke. Or maybe you could say Dallas has "proven" they can pass, and the Browns have "proven" they can run. Which approach wins this one? Or you can look at the other side of the ball, and ask which D actually shows up? Lots of angles on this one. My greatest fear is Baker feeling like he "has to" have a "big game", and forces passes. If he can stay within the plan, and the D at least makes Dallas punt 3 times, we should be in for an exciting ride.
Browns need a mistake free "statement" type game. This is a golden opportunity. Myles Garrett will need to keep coming up with big plays, and I think he can have some success against Dallas. Turnovers will be the key. The Browns can pressure Dak into a couple mistakes... Cleveland can't get behind by multiple scores early. Ideally, we'd like to control the ball with the running game, and keep Zeke and Co. off the field. But if the Cowboys start lighting it up, we may have to turn Mayfield loose. Let Bake cook.... If you told Cleveland fans in August that they would be (2-2) after the first quarter of the season, most would probably take that. This is a chance for the Browns to prove their legitimacy in this playoff hunt. A win in Dallas while moving to (3-1), in Baker Mayfield's "homecoming", would be huge for this franchise. Line started at CLE +5, but is surprisingly (IMO) trending our way. Time to step up and get a big road win. Cleveland 34, Dallas 27
BTW: If my predicted score for Browns comes true, it'll be the first time since 1968 (the year I was born) that they topped 30 in three straight games...
Halftime . . . No Nick Chubb. Very little Kareem Hunt. No problem. Just insert "Whatshisname". It appears we have fixed our O-line.
