Did I personally say anything that contradicts this? I just don’t see any SBs for them

well said and i agree with all of that. this Bills team certainly could take the division this year, its just funny that the Patriots are overlooked again on this site specifically.

No question the Pats are a viable, real and continue to be, threat. Not only a threat, but the team to beat in the East... they have NOT been dethroned yet. So, even by default, they are the reigning Champs.

I might add, in my opinion, they are still the favorites in that Division. The 2 games against the Bills are must see TV for sure. I just think that they have real competition in the form of Buffalo... which may be a driving factor in the way the Pats play against them. Every Sunday is a war no matter who ya play, but damn, I cant wait till the Bills and Pats square off.

Justin Herbert is expected to start on Sunday

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn is still referring to Tyrod Taylor as the starting quarterback, when healthy. But this week, Justin Herbert is expected to start again.

Herbert is slated to start again on Sunday against the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Taylor is still recuperating from a pregame injury on Sunday, when the team doctor gave him a painkilling injection for a chest injury and accidentally punctured Taylor’s lung.

Herbert played surprisingly well against the Chiefs, especially for a rookie who only found out he was starting a few minutes before the game. Now Herbert will get a full week to prepare for the Panthers.

Nick Mullens will start at quarterback for 49ers

While the 49ers held out some hope about quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo‘s ankle, they also weren’t kidding themselves.

Via Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Friday morning during an interview on KNBR that Nick Mullens would start Sunday against the Giants.

Garoppolo suffered an ankle sprain in last week’s carnage against the Jets, and the 49ers have made it reasonably clear this week he wasn’t going to be ready.

Shanahan also said that running backs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman wouldn’t play this week, but he wasn’t ready to make a declaration on tight end George Kittle.

Kittle was out last week with a knee issue, but has practiced some this week, and they’re holding out hope he can help their backup quarterback.

Bears coaches to huddle on quarterback decision tonight

Bears coach Matt Nagy made a quarterback change on Sunday based on a gut feeling. His next move will be more deliberate.

Nagy spoke to PFT by phone after Sunday’s come-from-way-behind win over the Falcons, and he addressed among other things the decision to remove starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky for backup Nick Foles.

“Sometime, you have to go with your gut,” Nagy said, explaining that the decision came in the moment, based on the fact that the offense under Trubisky was struggling on third down and in the red zone. “It’s a feel you get as things go on.”

He said that he explained the move to Trubisky as tactical. “None of it is personal,” Nagy said he told Trubisky. “It’s all task-related.”

Nagy said that when the team returns to Chicago later tonight, he’ll huddle with the offensive coaches “to figure out where they are moving forward.”

He said they need to make a decision quickly, because they need to focus immediately on their next opponent, the Colts.

“We’ve just got to make a good decision,” Nagy said, emphasizing that “you have to take emotion out of [it].”

“If it’s Mitch, you roll,” Nagy said. “If it’s Nick, you roll. I don’t want it to be back and forth.”

More specifically, Nagy said he doesn’t want to do again what he did today. Even if what he did today worked.

The fact that Nagy doesn’t want to repeat what he did today suggests that the arrow may be pointing toward Foles. “Nick’s strength is his experience,” Nagy said. “Mitch’s strength is that he’s growing.”

To avoid further growing pains that could result in Foles entering the game to save the day, Foles may be the answer.

However it goes, the Bears have three win in three games. Those victories are money in the bank, and the Bears are moving in the right direction, even if they currently don’t know which direction the quarterback decision will go.

Russell Wilson sets NFL TD record to lead Seahawks past Cowboys

Russell Wilson is performing at an incredible clip through three weeks -- historic, in fact.

Wilson's five passing touchdowns in Sunday's 38-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys gave him 14 on the year, breaking Patrick Mahomes' record of 13 set in 2018. It also made Wilson the first player in NFL history to throw for four or more touchdowns in each of his team's first three games.

"Russ is just on it," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after their victory Sunday. "You are just watching a great football player do what he does best."

Much of the offseason debate related to Wilson centered on one important question: Would the Seahawks put the ball in Wilson's hands and allow him to make plays? In short, would Carroll's staff let Russ cook?

Through three games, the answer is a resounding yes, with Wilson proving to be a quarterbacking virtuoso. Entering Week 3, Wilson led the NFL in completion percentage (82.5), passing touchdowns (nine) and passer rating (140.0). His Sunday line of 27-of-40 passing for 315 yards, five touchdowns and another interception-free outing definitely won't hurt his standing among the league's best.

Last season, Wilson was authoring what appeared to be an MVP-caliber campaign until Lamar Jackson took over and ran away with the award. It seems as if 2019 was no fluke, with Wilson coming out of the gate even hotter -- hotter than anyone else in history. Seattle is 3-0 and rolling as a result.

Bears announce Nick Foles is starting QB

It’s official: Mitchell Trubisky has been benched for Nick Foles.

Bears coach Matt Nagy announced today that Foles will start this week against the Colts.

“We got up this morning and went through the tape and at the end of it we decided we’re going to go with Nick Foles as the starter,” Nagy said. “It’s never easy when you go into these types of situations. I want to credit both of those guys yesterday for being really supportive of each other.”

That news comes as a surprise to no one after Foles came off the bench for an ineffective Trubisky on Sunday and led the Bears from a 26-10 deficit to a 30-26 win.

The Bears are off to a 3-0 start despite shaky play from Trubisky. If Foles can stabilize the quarterback position, the Bears should be heading for the playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes gets to 10,000 yards faster than anyone

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has begun his inevitable climb up the ladder of all-time passing records.

Against the Ravens on Monday night, Mahomes crossed the 10,000-yard career passing plateau. He reached the milestone in 34 games, faster than any player in league history.

Kurt Warner held the record, doing it in 36 games.

Mahomes already is at No. 196 on the all-time passing yardage list. He’ll likely pass Mark Malone (10,175) and Rex Grossman (10,232) tonight, and possibly more.

The 2018 regular-season MVP still has a long way to go for the all-time record. That’s held by Drew Brees, with 78,176 yards and counting.

Report: Broncos are expected to start Brett Rypien

It appears the Broncos have zeroed in on who will be their starting quarterback in Thursday’s game against the Jets.

Head coach Vic Fangio said on Monday that he’d choose between Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien, who replaced Driskel during last Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers. Mike Klis of KUSA reports that the choice is expected to be Rypien.

It would be the first NFL start of Rypien’s career and he’d become the ninth quarterback to start for Denver since the start of the 2017 season.

Rypien got his first regular season action last week and went 8-of-9 for 53 yards and an interception in relief of Driskel. Driskel was starting in place of the injured Drew Lock and went 17-of-30 for 176 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

The Broncos could make another change for Week Five. Lock is not expected back, but Blake Bortles will have more time to learn the offense after signing with the club last week. Fangio said it was “unrealistic” to have Bortles in the mix to play this week.

Justin Herbert is the Chargers’ starting quarterback going forward.

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn announced today that Herbert will remain the starter even if Tyrod Taylor is healthy and active for Monday night’s game at New Orleans. Taylor will be the No. 2 quarterback if he’s cleared to play after suffering a punctured lung from a painkilling injection administered by a team doctor.

Lynn was reluctant to make the move, but Herbert played well in relief of Taylor, even in his first start, in which he found out he was taking the field moments before kickoff.

The Chargers drafted Herbert in the first round because they believe he’s the long-term answer as a franchise quarterback successor to Philip Rivers. Now it’s officially Herbert’s job, likely for many years to come.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, due to a knee injury. His absence raises questions about his availability for Sunday against the Bengals.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Jackson is still expected to play, and that the two days off are precautionary.

Despite the precaution and the expectation that he’ll play, Jackson obviously has an injury. It will be interesting to see if he practices on Friday. Even if he does, he won’t be as prepared for Sunday’s game as he otherwise would have been.

Will that be enough to give Joe Burrow and company a chance to pull of what would be a huge upset? We’ll find out on Sunday.

No injury designation for Jimmy Garoppolo

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday that it was “looking like” Jimmy Garoppolo would start at quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday, but wanted to see how he was doing after practicing the last two days went before making any final decisions.

It seems Garoppolo’s ankle is holding up well. The 49ers did not give him an injury designation on Friday afternoon and that puts him on track to play for the first time since Week Two.

The 49ers will be without three cornerbacks as Dontae Johnson (groin), Emmanuel Moseley (concussion), and K'Waun Williams (knee, hip) have been ruled out. Defensive end Ziggy Ansah (biceps) is also out and should be moving to injured reserve as he’s set to miss the rest of the season.

Running back Raheem Mostert (knee), wide receiver Deebo Samuel (illness), and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) are listed as questionable. Samuel missed practice on Thursday and Friday.
