Today the roster gets trimmed from 75 to 53 by 3 PM. Bears trimmed a bunch of nobodies thus far... As for notables around the league, as of now--Dolphins released Josh Rosen. Eagles released Sydney Jones. Patriots released Lamar Miller. In case Pace wanted to consider QB, RB, and DB...
The speculation is that Pace must like someone who was cut. Jones and Rasul Douglas from Philly Jets had a rookie CB from Nebraska named Lamar Jackson, an undrafted guy considered a 2nd-mid round talent to some scouts when it was draft season. Cowboys cut Clinton Dicks Rookie CBs have such a steep learning curve, either they think johnson can be an instant impact, or there’s a move coming... And Adrian Peterson to the loins.
My 5 tech/RRH reservations are eased for the moment. Saints cut Mario Edwards and bears just signed him.
Bears sign 3 guys to PS, including CB Steven Denmark, Cairos Santos and an undrafted OL. Gotta wonder if Tolliver pissed someone important off. Seems too foolish to just cut him now given depth.
Absolutely. So did he get in trouble off field or was it too many fights in TC? Cos it can't be a football decision. He was pretty much a lock to make the team even before they lost Burns & the Canada guy to injuries. Really baffling this one.
Not Bears related but is me gloating related....some former Bears studs haven't survived cuts with their now former new teams. Clinton Dix got cut by the Safety needy Cowboys and Prince couldn't even stick with the Raiders and their scrub ass CB room. Thats the same PA who the Bears paid $8.5mil last season. As for Dix, i remember someone here telling me last season how great he was. Better than Amos was the claim i believe. Which one of those two still has a job today and which has been shown the door twice in one offseason?
Tolliver to Denver Clinton Dicks is not better than Amos.... Otherwise he’d be the one with the big money contract in Green Bay...
I’m going to assume ‘orcAmis’ is Amos? (Never heard him been called that) Give me Amos. Clinton looked great at times, when QBs threw away from the FS. He clearly looked functioning with Pagano’s scheme. What concerns me is after a decent year that should have got him paid, he could only get another 1 year deal for the same amount the bears gave him from the guy who drafted him, McCarthy. And slimer from Ghostbusters still cut him. We already have an all pro at FS, and at times last year the bears needed a box safety, but were playing with two center fielders. Give me the box safety who helps stop the run. If you bring up cap, I’m fine with Gipson starting this year. Think you found the Haha lover, Ev.
Box safeties that can also hold their own when dropping back in coverage are a lot harder to find than people think. Amos is a good safety.
